Chapter 2
POV: Hikaru Akani
*Tum-tum-tum*
I'm Hikaru Anari, today is the day I start my first day of school at my new school.
After turning off the alarm on my cell phone, I stretch and make my bed.
I have my breakfast, put on my new school uniform and say goodbye to my mother.
(Oh yes, I remembered, I have to meet Onora.)
Feeling anxious about what my new school life will be like, I almost forget about one person.
Onora Souta, "my boyfriend", I ended up becoming his girlfriend in the last year of elementary school.
Souta confessed to me in the last year of elementary school, but I didn't feel anything for him, I still don't. I wasn't interested in dating, so I was going to refuse.
But since some of my friends from elementary school wanted me to get a boyfriend so they could see what a high school student's "spring" was like, I ended up accepting.
But honestly, I'm not very comfortable with it.
We don't have anything in common, like tastes and ways of thinking, I wanted to break up with him.
I just don't want to do this on the first day of school, so I'll have to pretend until the middle of the year so as not to hurt him too much, to do it the right way.
Thinking about this, I turn a corner, when suddenly I feel someone grab me from behind and put me against the wall with a knife in his hand, pointing it at my neck.
Seeing that it was a hooded man smiling at me, when I realized what was happening, the man spoke.
"Look how cute, when I was chasing you I hadn't realized how pretty you were, hehe."
"Hmm hum."
"Okay girl, keep quiet and this will be over soon, hehe."
I try to scream but the hand that is on my mouth doesn't let me.
(I'm scared!)
As I felt my eyes fill with tears, wishing someone could help me.
I heard a voice, which seemed to be a boy's, next to me.
“Hey, you there!!”
Then suddenly, the hooded guy was hit by something that looked like a black garbage bag.
Which made him fall backwards and let me free from his hands.
The boy, who looked to be about my age, stood between me and the hooded guy.
For a moment I was captivated by him, for helping me. But before I could think about it, the hooded guy screamed.
“What the hell, kid?!”
I looked in the direction of the man, he seemed to have recovered from the blow and his face was red.
“Run!”
I turned my attention to the boy, he was looking at the man who was getting up.
“What?!”
“Run, now!!”
He repeated it again, only this time screaming, then I realized that the man was grabbing the black-handled knife.
So I started running, after I managed to escape, I stopped and tried to catch my breath, I saw a police car that was parked on the side of the road and I called for help.
We went back to the place where the hooded man had attacked me.
Strangely, my heart was beating much faster than normal and I was feeling a strange sensation in my heart.
When I arrived at the place, the hooded man was on the ground, he seemed to be unconscious. The boy who saved me was lying on the ground with blood on his abdomen.
That made my heart freeze, I couldn't believe he was dead.
My hero, he risked his life to save me without even knowing me. Tears started streaming down my eyes when I saw him on the ground.
One of the officers walked over to the hooded man and put handcuffs on him, while the other went over to the boy and put two fingers near his nose.
“He’s still breathing, call an ambulance.”
I was so happy and relieved after hearing that. But the happiness I felt felt different, it felt like I was not only happy that he was alive but knowing that I would be able to meet him again.
I couldn't stop looking at him, even on the ground he looked so attractive. I had never felt this way, not for Souta or anyone else.
Something inside me snapped, it felt like an electric current ran through my entire body, something new was born in my chest.
(Could this be... Is this love?)
Could I really have fallen in love with someone, I couldn't understand it, but... I liked this feeling and I didn't want it to stop.
