Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 88

Chapter 88: Painkiller

When he got back to the dormitory, Wang Jie was already lying on his bed, ready for a nap, clutching his phone and scrolling through Douyin.

Wen Yang went to the balcony with a towel, wiping the sweat off his face. His gaze kept drifting through the window onto Ning Chu, who was weakly pressing her hands against her little belly, looking pitiful.

If he previously had a 60% suspicion that Ning Chu was a girl, that number had now jumped to 80%.

What a coincidence! Two months in a row, only a three-day difference, and she’s having stomach pain at the same time… If tomorrow or the day after she’s still in pain, it’s basically confirmed that Ning Chu is a girl!

Just need one solid piece of evidence!

Wen Yang took off his shirt and looked down at his six-pack abs, feeling reasonably satisfied with his physique.

Ning Chu stepped onto the balcony, took a quick glance at his body, jealousy flickering in her eyes. To avoid messing with her mindset, she swiftly looked away and headed toward the bathroom.

“You might as well take a shower.”

Just now, Ning Chu had been shy! She could only sneak a glance before looking away!

Wen Yang suddenly realized this was an opportunity. He glanced at the closed bathroom door and immediately went back into the dorm.

He quickly surveyed Ning Chu’s desk…

A laptop, and on either side, the shelves were cluttered with cheap little toys and trinkets he’d won from the ring toss at the amusement park, all given to Ning Chu.

There was a neat stack of books piled in one corner against the wall, while two pairs of shoes were shoved under the desk. Even though there was a lot of stuff, it still looked relatively organized.

But Wen Yang didn’t find what he was looking for.

Feeling a bit guilty, he glanced up at Wang Jie on the upper bunk, then peeked toward the balcony.

Hesitating, he wanted to open Ning Chu’s drawer or closet, but the guilt of invading her privacy made him uneasy.

Thankfully, before he made up his mind, Ning Chu returned to the dorm, weakly slumping onto the desk, hugging her belly while quietly whimpering from the pain.

Wen Yang dashed to the bathroom but returned in less than two minutes, looking dejected.

He didn’t find any clues in the bathroom…

Hidden too deep? Could it be that Ning Chu wasn’t using sanitary napkins but something else?

“Wen Yang~”

“What’s up?”

“Can you help me buy some painkillers from the pharmacy…” Ning Chu leaned her head on the desk, speaking weakly, “I can’t take it anymore, it hurts so bad.”

Not even chronic gastritis hurt this much!

On such a hot day, Ning Chu only drank ice water and cold drinks, and only washed herself with cold water; he guessed this was what they meant by menstrual cramps.

Her boy parts were still there…it just turned into a little bean.

“Painkillers?” Wen Yang looked at her pale face, “Don’t you want to check the hospital?”

“No! I hate hospitals!”

“Then should I go alone to buy the medicine?”

Ning Chu shot him a glare: “Do you see me having the energy to go with you right now?”

“Oh~”

Hearing that drawn-out tone, Ning Chu mistakenly thought Wen Yang was up to something again, panicking she added: “You can’t talk to any girls! No agreeing to dates! No…”

Suddenly stopping, she firmly said, “Let’s go together!”

Guess she just couldn’t bear to let Wen Yang go out alone!

But the way she tried to control everything, saying no this and no that, why did Wen Yang’s smile seem even softer?

Shouldn’t she be mad?

If he were Wen Yang, having such an unreasonable roommate would definitely be infuriating.

“I can go by myself, you can stay here and heat some water to drink.”

“Together.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t talk to any girls, I swear, alright?” Wen Yang sighed helplessly, “Do I really look like I’d flirt as soon as I go out? Am I that much of a scumbag?”

Well, the protagonists in these stories are often that scummy!

Ning Chu pursed her lips, suspiciously sizing up Wen Yang’s expression, only to see that he genuinely looked sincere.

But after standing for a moment, she couldn’t help but clutch her belly and sit back down again.

Her face was pale, limbs curled up together, she tried to ease the pain by taking shallow breaths.

No more ice water, no more cold drinks…

The question came up: if the stomach pain was due to Aunt Flow’s arrival, then where was her “Aunt Flow”? It wouldn’t all be stuck inside her, right?

Ning Chu suddenly realized a blind spot and her face grew even paler.

Oh no! If it’s too much it won’t kill me, right?!

“Still going?”

Ning Chu raised her hand to wave, “No, no…”

It’s said that severe period pain can knock someone out, only to wake up in pain again.

Scary…

She couldn’t care less about whether Wen Yang would flirt with girls or trigger any plot points; she just felt a knife stabbing in her lower belly, twisting her insides.

Wen Yang chuckled as he picked up the kettle: “I’ll boil some water, should I also buy you some brown sugar to drink?”

Ning Chu hummed in response, curling into herself, hugging her belly, her feet perched on the chair, head resting on her knees, quietly enduring.

So what if she was transported to another world? Forget about being the main character without a golden finger; becoming the side heroine of the main character’s harem was already too much, did she really need to go through all this suffering…?

“I’m heading out, water will be boiling.”

“……”

Not hearing a response from Ning Chu, Wen Yang furrowed his brow, leaning closer to see her pale face, beads of sweat forming on her forehead, her tightly shut eyes trembling slightly, making one feel a sense of heartache.

Without saying anything else, he turned and dashed out the door.

Seemingly just a few minutes later, the door opened again.

Ning Chu looked up with hopeful eyes, only to abruptly lower her gaze in disappointment.

“Wow! Am I too ugly that my face is a turn-off for you? Why do you look so unhappy when you see me?” Zhang Shaoqing marched in with a small bag, noticing Ning Chu’s reaction, and began cursing, “I even brought you milk tea, but not anymore!”

“……”

He placed the four cups of milk tea he had bought on Wen Yang’s desk, not hearing Ning Chu speak, and huffed, “Did you hear me? No milk tea for you!”

“Where’s Wen Yang? Aren’t you following him around today?”

So annoying…

Ning Chu simply covered her ears.

“Feeling antisocial again? What’s up? Did Wen Yang get stolen by another girl?” Zhang Shaoqing had no self-awareness, cheerfully pulling a chair to sit next to Ning Chu, “Come on, spill! Time for your caring big brother to step in!”

“Here, have a cup of milk tea; sweets help release hormones!”

“It’s dopamine…”

Ning Chu weakly corrected him.

How did this guy even get into college?

Only now did Zhang Shaoqing notice her pale complexion, like paper, along with a thin layer of sweat on her forehead: “What’s wrong? You look like you’re about to die.”

“Bad stomach.”

“Oh~ I remember last time you had stomach pain after eating at that Sichuan restaurant, Wen Yang specially got you some Montmorency cherry juice,” Zhang Shaoqing mumbled, “I’ll go check his drawer.”

“Hmm?”
