Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 96

Chapter 96: 095. Hyperventilation

Ning Chu gradually cleared her blurry vision, revealing a snow-white ceiling.

“Hyperventilation.”

“Hyperventilation?”

“That’s a physiological and psychological response caused by excessive tension and anxiety.”

The voices of Wen Yang and an unfamiliar person fluctuated in her ears.

Ning Chu wearily turned her head and saw the door not far away; the conversation was coming from behind it.

So, I came out of the bathroom?

Thank goodness I pulled my pants up in time…

Ning Chu couldn’t help but feel relieved by her quick thinking. Otherwise, she would have been completely exposed.

She attempted to lift her body, but just as her upper body rose slightly, her arms became weak and she fell heavily back onto the bed.

The thud startled the people outside. Wen Yang dashed in, anxiously rushing to her bedside, concern written all over his face: “You’re awake? Are you okay?”

“Maybe?” Ning Chu still felt a bit dazed. “What happened to me?”

“The doctor said you have hyperventilation…”

“What’s that?”

Ning Chu asked in confusion as she squirmed, trying to sit up but ultimately needed Wen Yang’s help to do so.

She looked up at the nervously concerned Wen Yang: “Shaoqing and Wang Jie didn’t come, did they?”

“The two of them… went to pay the bill.”

“That was so scary! I thought something happened to you!”

Wen Yang felt lucky. God knows how shocking it was when he kicked open the bathroom door and found Ning Chu lying on the floor with blood all over her pants.

If someone didn’t know better, they’d think it was a murder scene! That sight reminded him of the first act of Danganronpa.

Ning Chu shot Wen Yang a glare as she glanced around the tiny hospital room, her gaze finally landing on the pristine white sheets.

It seemed like she forgot something.

What was it again?

“Feeling any better?”

“Yeah, just lacking strength.” Ning Chu weakly covered her head and asked, “What time is it?”

“It’s a little past ten. You woke up shortly after we brought you to the hospital.”

“Oh…” She swung her legs out from under the blankets, lifted the snow-white quilt, and as she was about to rise, her gaze froze.

Look at that deep red spreading from the base of her thighs, staining her shorts.

That’s what I forgot! I completely forgot to use a sanitary napkin…

Why couldn’t I faint after I used one?!

Ning Chu’s face turned pale as paper in an instant. She instinctively pulled the quilt back over her legs, clutching it tightly between her thighs, her body rigid.

Her breathing became rapid and frantic, and she nervously raised her eyebrows, fixating her gaze on Wen Yang’s face.

“I knew you were a girl all along. Don’t panic,” Wen Yang shook his head helplessly, speaking soothingly, “Just take a breath, don’t be too tense… you’re breathing too fast…”

“And them?”

“They don’t know yet. I kept it from them.” Wen Yang explained. “I grabbed a ride the moment we left school; they didn’t have time.”

Ning Chu finally let out a sigh of relief.

She knew Wen Yang had been probing about her gender. When she asked him to buy sanitary pads, she had no intention of pretending any longer.

Outside, she could hear Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie coming back after paying.

Wen Yang handed Ning Chu the bag he was holding and turned to leave the room: “You should change your pants first.”

The hospital door closed behind him, and immediately, Zhang Shaoqing’s voice rang out: “What the hell! How’s Ning Chu? She isn’t dead, right?”

“Say something nice…”

“I thought everyone in our dorm was going to grad school~”

This rich kid never had anything nice to say.

“Is Ning Chu okay now?”

“She should be fine; let her take her time.”

“That’s good.” Wang Jie sighed helplessly. “You shouted for us, and we didn’t even react before you took her off in the car.”

“Of course I was in a rush! What if something happened if we were late?”

After hearing that Wen Yang handled everything well, Ning Chu finally relaxed. She rubbed her temples, glancing around. This was a not-so-large single hospital room, with a small toilet cubicle in the corner.

“I’m getting closer to my plot…”

Ning Chu mumbled to herself as she got out of bed, opening the bag Wen Yang had given her. Inside were sanitary napkins, her underwear, and her trousers.

Wen Yang was quite thoughtful.

But the more thoughtful he was, the more anxious she became.

Rushing to the toilet, Ning Chu could only set aside her jumbled thoughts, staring down at the package of sanitary napkins in her hand.

How the heck do you use this?

Do I just stick it on my butt?

Staring blankly at the sanitary napkin, she finally pulled out her phone to check online tutorials.

Oh, it goes on the underwear.

Seeing the new accessory again, Ning Chu finally realized this wasn’t a dream.

She really had turned into a girl.

A girl with a menstrual cycle, capable of giving birth, everything functioning normally.

Reflecting on her previous life, she felt a strong sense of unreality; her life was now split into two parts.

One was the introverted, socially awkward LSP, and the other was this new girl before her.

“Don’t think too much about it; just escape…”

Regarding her plot, the conditions were met… she became a girl, still living in a boy’s dormitory, and Wen Yang already knew her gender and even held feelings for her.

She could get exposed at any moment!

Hiss~

Even though escaping might lead to unknown, possibly even scarier crises, she still thought it was better than the imminent danger she could see up close.

As for harming Wen Yang… that was just a fantasy. She wouldn’t even dare to hurt a chicken!

Having hastily managed herself, Ning Chu put on clean pants and stood up, her mind still hazy.

When she walked out of the hospital room, the three roommates quickly gathered around her. She looked up, even though her emotions were low, she managed to squeeze out a faint smile: “Let’s go home.”

Wen Yang noticed her somewhat troubled smile and felt a pang in his heart: “How about staying in the hospital for a while?”

“No, I want to go home.”

The doctor approached, performed a simple check-up on Ning Chu, and only after confirming everything was fine did he allow her to leave.

The four of them exited the hospital, still chattering away.

“Damn it! Our comeback round is gone!” Zhang Shaoqing cursed angrily, distraught, “It was a huge comeback! We played for over fifty minutes! Just a bit more and we would’ve turned it around!”

“Such a pity.” Wang Jie couldn’t contain his disappointment either, “We’re probably getting reported.”

Wen Yang frowned in dissatisfaction: “Why are you still talking about that? You could have just not come.”

“If I don’t come, can you pay for it?” Zhang Shaoqing turned to Ning Chu and asked, “How about we order takeout to help you recover? You look so pale~”

“How much? I’ll pay you back.”

“Do you look down on me? Do you think I need this little money?”

“…”

Ning Chu didn’t respond, slightly lagging behind as she threw the bloodied pants into a nearby trash can.

“Hey, what did you just throw away?”

“Nothing.”

She looked up at the three chatting and laughing in front of her, watching their elongated, distorted shadows under the streetlights, her mood sinking even further.

She really should leave, but she felt a bit reluctant.
