Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 98

Chapter 98: 097. Cowardly Bomb!

Ning Chu hadn’t even left yet, and Wen Yang was already flirting with someone else!

If she walked out, it would be a disaster!

She stared intently at Wen Yang, but moments later, her expression fell as she looked down. “Forget it, do as you please.”

Wen Yang’s words sounded like he was intentionally trying to make her worry, tricking her into staying.

Even if it were true, how the plot developed in the future wouldn’t concern her once she left.

She couldn’t be taking a shower in another city while Wen Yang suddenly appeared in her rental apartment, barging in at just the right moment, right?

“I’m not drinking either; I have something to do tonight.”

Ning Chu was taken aback and turned to look at Zhang Shaoqing.

This guy loved to have a couple of drinks while eating barbecue, yet today he wasn’t drinking?

Meeting her questioning gaze, Zhang Shaoqing mumbled, “Ling Ling’s matter should be resolved already.”

“!!!”

Ning Chu furrowed her brows, involuntarily picturing the yellow-haired villain. She couldn’t help but scold, “Are you crazy?! How long ago was that! Just find someone else!”

“I’ve liked her for over ten years; finding someone else isn’t the same.”

“You…” Ning Chu was so angry her chest heaved. She took a deep breath to calm down slightly and rolled her eyes. “Just keep being mad at me.”

She picked up a skewer of chicken legs and took a bite when suddenly, there was a commotion over at Wang Jie.

“If you guys aren’t drinking, then I will!” Wang Jie proactively opened a box of alcohol and placed a bottle on the table.

“What’s your deal?”

“I… I…” Wang Jie stuttered. “I got high marks; it’s making me uneasy?”

“……”

Alright, alright, everyone’s a hidden genius!

Ning Chu couldn’t be bothered with them. It was clear they had prepared this in advance, scheming to keep her in the dorm with their nonsense.

Having left the impression of a nosy big sister during her plot disruptions, these fools thought she was really that kind of person?

She shouldn’t have said so much earlier; she had exposed her desire to leave.

When she fell silent and focused on her barbecue, the three men quickly exchanged glances.

However, Zhang Shaoqing could no longer hold back and yelled, “What the hell is wrong with you? You act like you’re never coming back! Not going to university anymore?”

Wen Yang tried to stop him, but he continued babbling, “If something happened at home, just say it! Why are you stopping me? You have to talk it out to resolve it! Why hold it in like this?”

“……”

“Is someone in your family sick? Owes money? I’ve got money!”

He slammed his hand on the table. “Tell me! How much!”

Wen Yang sighed, “It should not be money-related.”

Clearly, it was because Ning Chu revealed her female identity to him, and now she couldn’t stay in the dorm. But the other two didn’t know, and he couldn’t say it.

“Well, I can’t help then. Let’s just eat barbecue, eat barbecue…” Zhang Shaoqing immediately sat back down.

“Can’t you just stay?” Wang Jie muttered, “It feels weird with one less person in the dorm.”

Ning Chu sighed softly.

“Forget it, don’t try to persuade me.”

After randomly eating a few bites, she stood up, grabbed her suitcase next to the wardrobe, and dramatically turned around. “I’m leaving!”

“I’ll see you off!”

“No need!”

Ning Chu deliberately used an upbeat tone to mask her underlying disappointment. She pushed the door open and, as she closed it behind her, hesitated and looked back at the door number.

It had only been two months…

She sighed softly and dragged her suitcase downstairs.

In the span of two months, that soul from another world had already merged into this dorm, and that one-meter-six boy had become a girl.

It was time to go.

In the dormitory nearing eleven at night, there weren’t many students seen in the hallway. Passing the lobby, Ning Chu caught a glimpse of the dorm manager chatting with his little girlfriend.

“Out so late, what are you doing? We’re closing the door at eleven!”

“I took a leave; I need to go back for a bit!”

“Where’s your leave request?”

“……” Ning Chu quickly changed her mind. “I’ll bring it to you tomorrow to cancel my leave; I’ve already informed the counselor.”

After pausing a moment, she stepped out of the dormitory.

The sky was overcast, with no stars or moon visible, engulfed in darkness like a massive curtain blocking the world.

Occasional bursts of laughter came from behind, while ahead, dim streetlights flickered. Looking up to the end, all she could see was a deep, pitch-black void.

Ning Chu’s steps froze in place. She nervously glanced around, placing a hand on her abdomen.

She pressed her lips together, her eyes filled with vigilance.

“It can’t happen this quickly, right?”

The night wind brushed against her, making her shiver. She clutched her suitcase and hurried toward the entrance.

After walking a few steps, she suddenly glanced back, feeling as though a gaze was fixed on her back, sending chills down her spine.

An overwhelming sense of anxiety enveloped her, making her walk faster, her eyes darting around every corner. She was on the verge of panic, never expecting that traveling alone would feel like this.

A student was coming straight at her, engrossed in their phone, walking right into her path.

Ning Chu’s steps immediately froze. She was tense, eyes glued to the approaching student, her feet instinctively moving back until the student disappeared around the corner.

So scary!

There could be a tentacle monster jumping out from the bushes at any moment! A passerby might suddenly attack! The hotel she was staying in was even more dangerous! That place was a high-risk zone! Whether in the Small Royal Text or reality, it was a battlefield!

“Late at night…”

“Yeah, late at night, how about not going out?”

“!!!”

Ning Chu jumped as she noticed Wen Yang leisurely walking out from the corner. “Since you wouldn’t let me see you off, I have no choice but to follow behind.”

“It’s dangerous to be out at night, and you’re afraid of the dark.”

In a blink, as soon as she saw Wen Yang, all her unease dissipated. Her taut nerves gradually eased, and she felt a bit warmer in the chilly night air.

She looked at Wen Yang standing not far away, lowered her head anxiously, but couldn’t wait to take little steps closer. “I still have to go…”

Once she was next to Wen Yang, inhaling his scent made her feel weak and comforted, the familiar sense of security returning to her heart.

“Why do you have to leave? You were living fine before?”

“You know I’m a girl… what if you suddenly want to…”

Wen Yang chuckled with exasperation. “Come on, am I that kind of person?”

Yes! You totally are that kind of person!

“Men can do anything when they get excited.”

“A rabbit wouldn’t eat the grass near its burrow.” He stepped forward with a smile. “I promise not to tell them your secret, and I guarantee I won’t act out. Just head back.”

“I… I have to go sooner or later; am I supposed to live in the boys’ dorm for four years?”

Wen Yang then took a step back. “How about this, just stay one more night? It’s dangerous for you to go out alone at night. I can’t help but worry.”

“……”

Saying this, he took hold of Ning Chu’s suitcase and cheerfully said, “Let’s head back. It’s just one more night.”

“Oh…”

Ning Chu pressed her lips together, her head down, but she hurriedly followed behind Wen Yang with small, quick steps.
