Twin Soul

Chapter 8: (7/9)

The Wind Mage smirked as he flew in front of Kain in a blink of an eye then casted [Wind Strike] toward him. Kain knew this would happen but he refused to back down. The [Wind Strike] was powerful and killed more than twenty bats but there were more than fifty bats left. All the dead bats quickly faded away and the new bats appeared to take places.

“You do know that I can kill all the bats at once by casting [Wind Strike] ten times in a roll, don’t you?” The Wind Mage mockingly asked.

Kain knew this Wind Mage was toying with him but he couldn’t think of a good solution to handle it otherwise. Kain couldn’t run away because this Wind Mage was too quick. If Kain stays and fights, that would be a very stupid decision because there is no possible way he can win against such a powerful magic caster.

Kain deactivated [Vampiric Swarm] and stood still while asking the Wind Mage, “Sir, what would you like to know about the Blood Mages Guild?”

The Wind Mage smiled to let Kain know that he did the right thing. He said, “Tell me where the Blood Mages Guild's headquarter is located. I promised to let you live.”

“How can I trust you when you don’t even tell me your name?”

“Sure, if you wanted to know that bad. My name is-”

Before the Wind Mage could tell Kain his name, Kain activated [Soul Bridge]. Finwe immediately activated [Thunder Step] then grabbed Kain and flew away. Kain tapped into the abyss link chained between him and Finwe earlier to let Finwe know that he is in danger before he activated [Soul Bridge].

At the time Finwe agreed to be bound to Kain’s Conjurer Soul, Kain let Finwe know that he wouldn't summon Finwe just for fun. If Kain tapped into the abyss link chained between him and Finwe, that’s mean Kain is in a deep shit situation that even Finwe won’t be able to handle. The best option for Finwe to do is immediately activate [Thunder Step] and help Kain escape.

The Wind Mage laughed out loud while he was casting [Wind Funnel] to siphoned Finwe and Kain at the same time seizing all of their movements which prohibiting them from being able to escape.

Kain has been reserving his mana pool and this is the time he needed to use it. Kain activated [Mana Infusion] and then casted [Conjure Fire Demon]. “Please give me a strong Demon.” Kain silently prayed for the result as this was his last hope.

The Wind Mage was also waiting for the conjuring result because he wanted to see if Kain managed to conjure some uniquely powerful Fire Demon. A Demon appeared and disappointed them both. It was just a regular Fire Demon. The Wind Mage shook his head in disappointment while he was casting [Wind Strike] to cut the Fire Demon in half.

Kain and Finwe were siphoned in front of the Wind Mage and were forced to kneel in front of him by his [Gravity Manipulation].

The Wind Mage spoke in a sympathetic voice toward Kain, “It looks like your luck is not with you today. Not only you ran into me in the middle of the night where no one else is present, but your [Mana Infusion] was wasted to conjure a weak Fire Demon. Do you still want to know my name?”

“Yes.”

“You are right, I am an Executioner. We have the same first name. My full name is Kain Keppler.”

“Not good to see you, Kain Keppler. I’m going to be killed by someone else with the same first name as mine, not that bad luck after all.”

“Kid, I won’t kill you. At least not yet. Tell me everything you know about the Blood Mages Guild and I will let you walk free. You have my promise.”

Kain looked toward Finwe and said, “Finwe, you have agreed to be bound to a weakling such as me, I’m truly honored for that. If I was a Saint-tier Conjurer Mage, you could have unleashed all of your power and won’t face such an embarrassing loss.”

Finwe understood what Kain wanted to do, he nodded to show respect and said, “It has been my honor as well, may your Watcher give you a better life in your reincarnation.”

Kain used the remaining blood inside the blood pools of his Magical Blood Daggers and casted [Blood Iron Spikes] to create a small dark red color floating ball to automatically shoot out iron spikes. Finwe activated [Mana Infusion] and casted [Thunder Claws] to create sixty-seven Thunder Claws flying toward the Wind Mage.

The Wind Mage casted five layers of [Warning Wind] to reflect all iron spikes and Thunder Claws but it also made him lose focus on his [Gravity Manipulation] for two seconds. Kain used these two seconds to launch at the Wind Mage and struck him using his Blood Daggers. Finwe also took out his sword and repeatedly slashed at the Wind Mage. However, none of their attacks could land on the Wind Mage because he could easily dodge it all.

“Fools, my active [Gust] spell grants me powerful evasion rates that none of your pathetic attacks could land on me.” The Wind Mage mockingly said.

After reflecting all iron spikes and Thunder Claws, the Wind Mage casted [Wind Strike] ten times toward Finwe. Finwe’s mana pool was depleted but his swordsmanship skill is on-par compared to the top one thousand Saint-tier warriors of Toria Continents. He won’t be easily killed by these [Wind Strike]. Finwe swung his sword ten times to divert the ten [Wind Strike] toward different directions. Before Finwe could do anything else, the Wind Mage casted [Sonic Boom] and Finwe was blasted ten miles away. Needless to say, Finwe was killed and transported back into his realm.

Kain continues to strike his Blood Daggers at the Wind Mage regardless of how many times he missed. The Wind Mage casted [Wind Blades] then stood still to let his five hundred and ten Wind Blades to protect him. The Wind Blades cut Kain all over his body but not deep enough to detach any of his body parts. The Wind Mage wanted Kain to feel the pain but won’t let him die because torture time was not over yet.
