Chapter 7: VIT-focused Class

Edith turned her gaze to Olgan, her blue eyes reflecting surprise mixed with doubt and wariness.

Asking someone to show their Status Interface was a breach of privacy. Though Olgan had willingly shared his with both Edith and Lenna, she felt it was a different matter entirely. She hadn't asked to see his; he had offered so on his own.

Lenna, vigilant as always, immediately drew her sword and pressed its sharp edge against Olgan's throat. He could feel the icy aura of her killing intent, making his breath hitch in his throat.

"F-forget it if you don't want to sha—" Olgan stammered, but Edith raised a hand, signaling for Lenna to lower her sword.

The sword retreated, but the chilling pressure didn't dissipate; if anything, it intensified.

"It's okay, Lenna. It doesn't matter whether I show a stranger my Status anymore," Edith said, her voice weary and defeated.

She turned her attention back to Olgan. "A VIT-focused offensive Class? I'm sorry, but that sounds like something out of a fantasy novel. It's a dream, something impossible. It's like saying a pure Swordsman could become a Mage. Even if they could cast a basic spell, they wouldn't truly be a Mage."

Despite the tension, Olgan felt the needed to respond. "If a Magic Swordsman—a mixed of Mage and Swordsman—can exist, why couldn't a VIT-focused build mix with a Swordsman?"

Edith paused, contemplating his words. They made sense, but could he grasp the same challenges faced by the Magect family from generation to generation, the knowledge to become a Magic Swordsman? It had taken countless trials and errors to refine their method, earning their family prestige and honor.

In truth, the concept of a Magic Swordsman wasn't inherently complex. The real hurdle lay in the 3rd Ascension at Level 30. Without knowledge of the advancement conditions, one would be forever stuck at that level.

The Magect family had transcended those limitations, but the specifics were closely guarded secrets, even from Edith.

With little hope remaining, she finally decided to share her Status Interface with Olgan.

As he scanned the numbers, a mix of excitement and confusion formed within him. He was the type of an RPG player who loved crafting unique characters and finding ways to make unconventional builds work.

His focus shifted to VIT, then after some contemplation, to INT and WIS. When considering the most destructive class built on high HP, one stood out in his mind: the Berserker.

Though her Potential VIT was below the average of 5, that wasn't a concern since she had already allocated all her points into it.

With dedicated training, her Potential VIT could improve over time. Early on, she could offset her lower HP with her high STR.

The bonus points across her stats were a testament to her noble lineage, with a wealth of equipment augmenting her abilities. These bonuses would provide significant advantages.

However, Olgan knew that many gamers often overlooked a crucial downside to the Berserker class: control.

In games, even if Berserkers had a background lore of losing control going into a berserk state, it didn't impact player experience. No one wanted their character to randomly and unpredictably charge into the worst position possible, without being able to control it with their keyboard or mouse. So, in most games, they only existed as a lore, not a game mechanic.

But in real life, things were different.

This understanding drew him to Edith's INT and WIS. One of these stats would likely help her maintain control, if not both. Thankfully, both were impressively high even without additional points.

Still, the risks were substantial. He couldn't gamble her sanity over this.

Feeling conflicted, Olgan decided to discuss the idea with Edith, allowing her to weight the risks. If she refused, he would try to explore an alternative Class path for her.

"Princess Edith..." he began carefully, "If we are to explore a path that has a high risk of you losing your sanity, how do you feel about that?"
