CHAPTER 55: KEY MADE OF GOLD!

He went near the desk, to check out the Ac Power Socket above it. When he casually placed his right hand on the desk to take its support, it broke down and turned into powder. It was not able to support his weight, it was too old.
“No wonder… even though their design is new, they are thousands of years old. Of course, it will break down easily.” Mo Fan said as he observed the broken wood of the desk. He easily crushed it into dust without using any strength.
“There probably lived someone here a very long time ago. But I don’t see that person’s corpse anywhere anymore…” Mo Fan looked around the room but couldn’t find the body anywhere.
He put his hand inside the Ac Power Socket to see if there was any current inside it, but as expected it was dead. There was no electricity present.
He went near the bookshelf this time, to see what books it contained, he carefully removed a book to not crush it, but it crumbled to pieces in his hand, when he tried to turn the pages.
“Sigh... its no use to read these books covered in dust, they’re too fragile. They should’ve used some preservation spell on these things. Wait, is there even a spell like that in the first place? Hmm~ I’ll check on it when I get back. Oh, What’s in those drawers?”
Mo Fan sighed and gave up on reading the books when he noticed the two drawers on the desk. He went near it again, he carefully pulled the handle of the drawer, but just as he applied some force, the handle crumbled into dust.
“How Annoying…” Mo Fan was annoyed a little.
This time he just pulled the top of the desk and destroyed it completely. He saw that the first drawer was empty, so he removed the first drawer and teared apart the space above the second drawer mercilessly.
“Oh! What’s this?” As he teared apart the top of the second drawer, he noticed something shinning.
“A Golden Key?” He noticed a palm-sized golden key inside the second Drawer.
“No! It’s a key made of Gold!” Mo Fan Exclaimed as he picked up the key to inspect it.
The Gold Key still had its beautiful lustre as it was still shining. He looked around to see if there was a keyhole somewhere. He immediately noticed there was a keyhole on the closet, but the keyhole was a little too small for the key too fit. Mo Fan just tore the door of the closet apart since it was also made of wood after he saw the key was not meant for it.
There was nothing but a black hoodie and some track pants inside the closet.
“What the hell... I’ve had my doubts, but it seems that this room is not made by someone from the previous generation. The only possible way I can think of is someone time travelled into the past... but is that even possible? This is a world which defies common sense and physics, I mean, I, myself had crossed over dimensions of parallel worlds to get here, but Time... I can’t even imagine that possibility that someone can go back and forth in time.” Mo Fan said as he was pondering on it.
His mind was akin to supercomputer once he was curious about something.
“I mean, I did watch Interstellar before traversing here after all. Besides I don’t think you can go back in time; you can only go to another Parallel Multiverse, at least that’s what the scientists of science world had deduced.
And the thought of turning back time itself is impossible, The Earth is constantly revolving around the sun along with other planets, so its constantly moving around in an orbit, so if you want to turn back time then you’ll have to turn back the time of the entire Solar System, or the Earth will gradually crash into other planets or asteroids if it was put back to where it was 10years ago or more, not only that but it might possibly leave the solar system and wander the space as well. That’s why its impossible to turn back time of the whole world, but turning back time for a specific object might not be impossible.
But~ what if it’s possible for an individual to go back to a specific point in time through another dimension. Maybe someone from the future went back in time somehow... But if that really did happen then that means that the future is already set in stone, and no one can oppose their fates. So, this means that if I’m to die, then I will die no matter what...” Mo Fan was a literal bookworm and was also a genius in his previous world.
He was like a curious little kid who won’t back down unless he had learned everything about the things he was interested in. He had an extraordinary mind from when he was little, he might be just a little kid when he traversed here, but he had already memorised and understood his studies up till Highschool year 3.
Not only that, but he was interested in a lot of Sci-fi movies and comics from when he was little. Apart from sci-fi genre, only fantasy genre and beautiful girls were the things which made his heart race.
“Whoa, the possibility itself scares me, I hope I’m wrong about all this. Besides just thinking about things which I can’t prove itself is stupid and waste of time. Let’s just search for a keyhole of this key, it might be the key to the exit.” Mo Fan stopped thinking about stupid things and went back to searching.
“Sigh... if only time travelling was as simple as Back to the Future...” Mo Fan Sighed as he missed his previous world, most of the movies which existed in his previous world did not exist here.
