Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 37

Chapter 37: Perhaps He’s a Nice Guy?

The First Walker had not been in a real battle for too freaking long now! Such a long-awaited opportunity inevitably made him overexcited with elation. Even if the spell was very simple, he still insisted on chanting out the original formal incantation. That was why the white bun-like thing on top of Baiyi’s head would not stop issuing all sorts of weird and funny noises. One could even say that the bun was pretty cute, just like a plushie doll that would make cute sound when you squeeze it.

As for the imbecile duo, they did not find that thing cute at all. Instead, they felt that it was rather annoying. When the black Soul Armature prepared to stab towards Baiyi and he almost succeeded, a sound “Wahhtoooot” could be heard before a fireball landed and exploded precisely on his visor. Even though it did not cause him much harm, it obstructed his sight and his attack naturally missed.

It was the same as well for Undine. When her Chi Blades was about to hit Baiyi’s body and seal his escape route, a ” Rahhh rahhh wrrrraaaa” sound was uttered and then a few small lightning bolts shot out, destroying the Chi Blades in the middle of their tracks.

Knowing that her long-range plan was no longer effective, the Butterfly Saint of Sword decisively grabbed tightly onto her long emerald swords and charged towards Baiyi, planning to use close combat instead. Not only was she well-practiced in releasing the Chi Blades, her close combat swordmanships was quite impressive as well. Especially with the understanding between her and her Soul Armature that was formed from years of partnership, she was confident that they could force Baiyi to surrender eventually.

When she was about to take a step forward, she could sense that all sorts of elements’ attacks were making their ways towards her: ice missiles, fireballs, lightning bolts, the crushed tiles on the floor, and even some disgusting God-knows-what white sticky mucus (WTH?!) and more. Undine’s body did not have the same structure and the protection that the black Soul Armature’s gold black armor had after all. She was forced to cast a Chi Defense to block those attacks and the movement of her feet was halted as well.

When the white statue on top of Baiyi was interfering with Undine’s atack, it did not forget to release a “Guuuu guuuu grrruuuu ” sound before shooting a streak of flame to the body of the black Soul Armature, making it harder for him to counter Baiyi’s ordinary attack.

There was no doubt that the First Walker was worthy of being called the First Voidwalker. As the first Demigod-tier sorcerer in human history, even with Baiyi’s peculiar body as well the insufficient energy that Baiyi possessed that only allow Baiyi to cast easy spells, the Archmage was still able to utilize those simple spells to their maximum potential. As expected of a supernatural being, although he looked kind of silly, he still managed to turn the situation around.

The First Walker who once held the title The Sage-Emperor of the Magi possessed an understanding towards Magic that was above the comprehension of ordinary people. Not only that, he truly attained a state of mastery of all magic. Every force and energy of Magic could be exerted to their maximum potential in the hand of that man. That was the formidable part of being a supernatural being. Even though he looked funny, he was still able to send the opponents running for covers.

At the same time, his domination ability of the situation was particularly keen as well. When he found out that the opponent had an upper-hand, he immediately issued a string of instructions “Wow wow wow wow wow wow” to Baiyi.

Baiyi: “…?”

“I told you to deal with the black fellow first! Why can’t you understand me?” The Archmage was forced to leave the white bun temporarily to translate what he said in Baiyi’s mind again. Having said that, he returned and shot a solid icebeam towards the black Soul Armature. At once, Baiyi understood his teacher’s plan.

Even though the black gold was the most powerful material in that world but it was not without flaw. There were still some weaknesses that it carried, for example, being subjected to strong physical impact or losing its absorption function due to the rapid change in temperature.

As the Archmage was fending off Undine, he was interfering with the black Soul Armature at the same time. He even secretly used firebeam and icebeam interchangeably to attack the black Soul Armature’s right elbow. Due to the continuous change in temperature, the color of his elbow had began to show some significant changes. The black color of that area was obviously a lot lighter than the other parts of his body now.

It proved that the absorption function of the black gold was gradually becoming weaker! As for that poor black Soul Armature who was constantly being attacked by Baiyi and harassed by the Archmage, it seemed like he had not noticed the small change yet.

As they continued to battle it out a while more, Undine who had been suffering from multiple attacks decided to release her ultimate power. The white bun-like statue suddenly shouted out loudly ” RRRRRRWAAAAAAAAHHHHH! “. Instantly, Baiyi took the hint and gave an unreserved slash towards the black Soul Armature. The crimson fire that was burning brightly on the long sword suddenly disappeared and was replaced by a high-speed vibration Chi. With a slash of Baiyi’s high-intensity slice, a flash of a silvery white light could be seen from the black Soul Armature’s right arm.

What followed next was the scene where half an arm still holding on to a black sword, flying up high in the air, leaving the owner’s body behind (imagine this scene in slow-motion!).

“…H-H-How is this p-p-posible…?” The pair of imbecile duos stared with their eyes wide on the chopped arm that fell onto the rubble from their battle. The impeccable black gold armour couldactually be damaged by such a tactic?

By the time they had regained their senses, Baiyi’s long sword was already on the elegant swan-like neck of Undine.

“P-P-Please… Please listen to me. We really do not have any malicious intentions…” Undine pleaded. Her face suddenly filled with a puppy-look, showing a sense of grievance— I’d better seize this opportunity to explain myself. Her thin pink lips pouted slightly as if she was being wronged and she looked absolutely enticing.

Baiyi did not say a word as he turned his head to survey the fragmented grounds and rubbles that was destroyed beyond repair. You almost demolished the whole place and now you’re saying this? How fake can you be?

At once, a lovely flush crept up on Undine’s face, showing a shy demeanor of a little girl. Along with thegorgeous features of her face, the sense of beauty that was exuded from her whole body made the Voidwalkers break out in cheers.

There was only one earnest voice that was pleading with utmost grief and sincerity, “Please, Sir Hope! I beg you! Please let her go… No matter what, she’s still one of my descendants…”

The one who spoke was none other than the Merchant. Through Baiyi’s eyes, the Merchant could clearly see the ‘$’-shaped pendant that was hanging from Undine’s neck. That was a pendant of the Dole family that was handed down from generation to generation, showing that she was indeed the direct descendant of the Merchant.

The beauty in front of him is actually a descendant of the Merchant? No wonder she could afford all these things! Glancing down at the ‘$’-shaped pendant that he had once seen at the Dole Manor, he could slightly piece together the reason she came to find him. The tip of the sword that was pointing at Undine’s throat loosened a little. After all, Baiyi could not bring himself to hurt the Merchant’s descendant at all, especially in front of him.

When Undine realised that Baiyi’s hostility towards her had somewhat diminished a little, she let out a sigh of relief and quickly seized the rare opportunity to continue talking, “Master Sven, p-p-please forgive us for our reckless action. We just wanted to create a good atmosphere for both parties to talk… I just did not expect your strength to be so powerful… I-I-I promise I will compensate you later…”

“Oh, a good atmosphere you said?” Baiyi scoffed coldly. “Alright, speak! What do you guys want actually?”

“We would like to invite you to join us in an important business of the Dole family. Please believe me! We’ll definitely present you with a hefty reward for your work…” Undine secretly chuckled to herself. No matter what, the atmosphere had started to warm up now, although the situation was not quite the same as what she had in mind.

Exactly the same with that reckless little blonde sorcerer last time. Trying to recruit me again? You guys, Dole family is so rich and I’m sure you’ll be able to find whatever kind of people you want! Why do you guys insist that it has to be me? Baiyi asked the Merchant with slight frustration.

“Well, I guess this means that they inherited my excellent foresight and was able to see your potential with just one glance?” The Merchant subtly used flattery to calm Baiyi down.

Alright, fine. I’ll let it go this time. Turning back to the descendant of the Dole family, Baiyi growled, “I’m not interested at all. Don’t come looking for me again!” Having said that, he retrieved his sword and turned to leave.

Apparently, Undine still refused to give up on the rare opportunity. She quickly reached out and held on to Baiyi’s arm as she said, “Wait a minute, Master Sven! You are very important to…KYAAAAAAAAA!

She had not even managed to finish her sentence before she let out a child-like scream. The hand that she stretched out was immediately pulled back and she held it tightly against her chest. Her whole face was red with embarrassment and she had a furious expression on her face. As she looked at Baiyi’s back that was walking further away, she fumed and scolded, “P-P-Pervert!”

It turned out that in order to stop her from talking any further, Baiyi had directly reached out to her breast and gave it a light grope, cutting her words off with a simple yet efficient method. Hmmm… The shape is quite perfect and it’s soft as well. That feels pretty good…

Undine had received an elite education since she was very young therefore she could not even think of any profanity to scold Baiyi with. ‘Pervert’ was probably the most vulgar word that she had ever used in her whole life. But then, with only just that level of word as well as the girl-like shy posture that she had now, she looked rather like a tsundere girl.

Baiyi was totally uninterested in wasting his time. Mia-chan’s class would be over soon and he really had to go back home as soon as possible. Therefore, under the gaze of those two people, he made himself invisible and vanished into thin air like magic.

That was his last warning as well.

“T-T-This is the legendary Shadow Assassin’s Shadowmeld Technique!” The black Soul Armature proclaimed in shock.

Undine covered her mouth in shock. She could feel cold sweat creeping down her spine. Right now, she had truly realized how dangerous her previous action had been… A Shadow Assassin who was like a grim reaper lurking in silence could bring death as easily as abc. And looking back at herself who was dressed fashionably in knightwear, there was no way that she could possibly survive fighting with him.

If Baiyi had truly wanted them dead, there was absolutely nothing that the seemingly powerful duo could do to resist.

“…He…” Undine, who slowly recovered from shock, muttered as she looked at the direction that Baiyi was headed, “…Perhaps, he’s a nice guy…?” As soon as she finished, she suddenly felt as if something was wrong. Reaching out to touch the storage pouch that was still hanging on her waist a moment ago….

“THIEF! BASTARD! PERVERT!” The swearing of Miss Undine could be heard from far, far away…
