X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 18: The First Tamed Beast

Just as Jim turned his gaze to the gorilla that just arrived, he walked slowly to the other party's direction as he spoke with an impassive tone of a middle-aged man,

"We meet again."

Kutob!

The gorilla subconsciously cowered backward as there was no strength for him to stand up anymore. Its knees were trembling weakly and its body couldn't stop shaking.

Fear!

The memories of the past brought forth fear in its heart. Though the voice had changed to that of a middle-aged man, he could feel the same aura of the one who caused its scar on its chest down to its belly.

It wanted to run away, but its courage betrayed it!

As Jim was getting nearer the gorilla's heart beat stronger, palpitating wildly to death!

After a few more moments, Jim finally reached his distance to the gorilla, standing closely in front of it. At that moment, only then Jim finally changed his impassive emotion as a heartfelt smile surfaced on his face.

Jim pointed his finger to the terrified gorilla and a small bead of blood came out from the tip of his index finger. The bead floated slowly to the gorilla's forehead giving it warmth as all of its fear faded right away.

"Do you want to become this child's tamed beast? I assure you, you won't regret it" The voice was heartening, making anyone believe whatever words would escape on his lips.

At that time, however, the gorilla's face twitched wildly, afraid that it heard it wrong.

You want to kill me just now right? How the hell did it suddenly end up like this? When did you change your mind?

Are you the weather? Changing freely as you like.

I know that you are insanely strong, but please don't treat me as your plaything. I'm still the King of this part of the forest you know!

"I know what you're thinking" Jim stared at the gorilla intently, not caring for the gorilla's thoughts. "This child I have chosen is getting much stronger as the time passes and my will inside of him is about to vanish. This is probably the last time I would appear.

"When the first time we met, this child was walking alone in the forest and bumped into you. Although my will is working that day, this child's will to find his father is so strong that my will is almost fully suppressed. Thankfully, I eventually managed to control his body and suppressed his emotion, if not, I don't know what calamity would happen.

"So to prevent that calamity from occurring, I needed someone trustworthy to guide this child and help him in every way possible. My time here is very limited and I already used up all of my strength to suppress this child's overwhelming emotion in the past five years."

The gorilla tilted its head as it asked doubtfully, "What do you mean by that?"

The gorilla only knew that the entity before him was not the brat he knew about, but the one who caused its scar! Never did it think that it was not the entity that made it suffer, but the brat himself in front of it was actually the one who caused its scar.

The gorilla was just a bit confused since the aura of the one who gave it the scar was really the same as what it was feeling right now from the brat in front of it. But now, things were getting clearer to it.

It now realized what happened that day. This brat was probably using the power of the entity inside of him or perhaps that was his real strength.

That day, he withered all the plants and trees on his path, and even innocent beasts and wild animals were turned into dried corpses.

But because the entity inside of this brat was trying to suppress this brat as well, the entity was probably reviving back the plants, trees, and animals too!

That's probably the case!

"But this is strange." The gorilla thought doubtfully.

The trees and plants and animals have all definitely come back to life at that time. Why did the beasts didn't come back to life as well?

And even me myself, my injuries didn't get healed when this brat left the area!

This is unfair!

I suffered badly you know!

Ignoring the confused gorilla and its feelings, Jim, no, the 'entity' controlling Jim raised his hand and a red steam came out from his body, forming a huge ball of red cloud above him. The red cloud then slowly compressed itself forming a small red bead, probably about the size of half of the gorilla's fist.

Immeasurable life energy could be felt from that red bead, making anyone excitedly claim it.

The gorilla felt its heartbeat hastening, as its huge hand subconsciously and slowly moved forward to grab the red bead.

That time, however, the voice of the middle-aged man suddenly sounded making it to regain its rationality.

"Be this child's tamed beast and not only you will receive this small thing, but you'll also surely reach greater heights in the future or maybe reclaim your former strength as the one who stood against the demons back then in the past three Great Wars that just transpired.

"You are a strong beast, and a trustworthy one at that, I hope you won't turn down my offer."

Without waiting for the gorilla's nonsense, the red bead slowly floated to its mouth. That time, the gorilla suddenly felt a sudden burst of life energy inside of it, giving it a wonderful feeling that it would never forget in its lifetime.

The feeling was probably much better than sex and drugs!

As the gorilla was enjoying the feeling, it slowly morphed itself into a human form, giving him a well-built body of a man in his forties! Even the trace of his former appearance as a beast vanished without a trace as if he was born as a human in the first place.

"This..."

The gorilla was flabbergasted, not knowing how he should respond to this. That was transmogrification! An ability that was exclusive only to the SS-Rank beast and above! How could he possibly be able to do it just now?

Although his scar didn't vanish still, it was a piece of good news for him. He could morph again to a human form now!

Besides, how did the one in front of him know that he lost his former strength back then in the last three great wars?

"This is really strange, just who is this person that was possessing this brat." The gorilla thought doubtfully as he stared at the other party intently.

Just as the gorilla was lost for words, the voice of the middle-aged man spoke yet again,

"Don't be so happy yet, it's just the least you can receive when you follow this child and become loyal to him. So let me ask you a question, are you willing to become this child's tamed beast? Of course, if you don't want to, you can always refuse, 'I won't claim back' the power I have given to you just now."

"Only your life, of course." The entity thought viciously as a slight grin surfaced on Jim's lips.

The gorilla hesitated. If he followed this child, he would become his tamed beast and his life and death were to the other party's will. But in exchange, he would surely reach greater heights in the future and reclaim the peak of his real strength or even greater.

The gorilla knew full well that there was no way that the entity possessing this brat was joking. There was no point in doing a stupid thing like that.

But if he accepted the one who killed all of his minions as his master...

The entity inside Jim waited patiently for the gorilla's response since he knew as well that this was a crucial part. If a beast submitted wholeheartedly, there was no way that it would betray its master.

If however, the beast was forced to submit, the beast might rebel in the future and sacrifice its own life to claim its master's life.

Better to kill him than taming him if that was the case!

It was not as if the gorilla could kill Jim though. But still, loyal and trustworthy subordinates were always been better than another pest.

After a good while of thinking, the gorilla then finally decided and bowed down deeply, "I decided to follow him, please take care of me!"

As he said those words, a drop of blood floated from his palm towards Jim. It was the blood essence of the beast! Through this, the contract of the master-tamed beast relationship would be sealed!

The entity possessing Jim smiled as he accepted the blood essence. He put it in his chest and immediately got absorbed.

It seemed that the entity didn't need to take an action anymore to kill the other party!
