"Please don't kill us" Both girls shed crocodile tears as they hugged Ruvan's legs.

"Don't worry… None of you will die" Ruvan said with a soft tone of voice.

"However, what you saw and heard here is something very important and I cannot let it come to light…"

"That's right… We promise to stay quiet." Each of the little teenagers swore in the name of the heavens that no words would come out of their little mouths.

"I appreciate your commitment but I need to be completely sure…"

"If they both agree, I will place a slave seal on both of them to avoid risks... Otherwise I am afraid this will not end well for both of them," Ruvan said with a grimace. Although he would despise killing this pair of innocent girls he couldn't risk leaking what had just happened in this cave.

"Mmm we are fine with the slave seal."

"But sister?"

"Shut up Mina," one sister silenced the other. Apparently the eldest of them was the cleverest between the two little girls.

"Very good… I like smart girls" Ruvan said with a smile as he took out a pair of slavery seals that he had acquired from the Commerce Pavilion. These seals not only prevented betrayal but also guaranteed obedience.

Both seals came embedded in a small parchment. As he brought the scroll closer to the girls' heads, two small seals flew directly toward their foreheads. With this the seal was complete.

"Very good… Now both of you change your clothes…" Ruvan said with a smile when he saw the wet stains on the girl's clothes.

"Here you have a couple of clothes… You can go change in that corner," said Ruvan as he turned to see the little teenager who had also forgiven.

"I also offer you the same treatment as them… Do you accept?" Ruvan asked.

"No… I don't accept," the young man said resolutely despite the fear he was experiencing at that moment.

"You do not accept? Can I know why?" Ruvan asked with some interest after all the boy in front of him was not even fifteen years old but his resolve certainly impressed.

"Because I still have to get revenge on the bastards who killed my parents," the boy said seriously.

"Oh I see… Who killed them?" Ruvan asked.

"The governor of the kingdom where we lived" said the boy with an expression full of hate… Apparently he himself witnessed the deaths of his parents at the hands of that guy.

"Mmm I don't promise to take revenge for you but I do promise to give you the necessary tools so that you can take revenge yourself one day…" Ruvan said.

"Oh really…?" The boy asked with a hopeful tone after everything until now his life had only been about running and escaping from his pursuers.

"That's right… But in exchange you must serve me until your death," Ruvan said with a smile. Something in him told him that this boy might be of use to him one day.

"I accept... As long as you keep your previous words" the boy said with resolution...

"Hahahaha, if there's one thing you can be sure of, it's that I always keep my words, boy," Ruvan said with a smile before implanting the slave seal on the boy's forehead.

With the problems resolved, Ruvan headed straight to the platform in the center of the cave to cultivate all the energy he had absorbed from the captive cultivators.

"Very well… I'll be waiting outside," Xiong Mei said before leaving to leave Ruvan alone. The three boys also left the cave and went to do some small tasks that Xiong Mei had ordered them to do.

After another five hours Ruvan finally managed to reach the fifth stage of the Golden Core Realm in a terrifying breakthrough after all he had broken through two stages in less than twelve hours.

"The effects of the Devourer Art are impressive" Xiong Mei murmured in amazement as she perceived the changes within Ruvan's body.

"This was unbelievable' Ruvan murmured with satisfaction as he dusted off his pants.

Due to the special condition of his body, his progress was much slower than most of the young people in his family. Some had even called it a failure due to its slowness but today all this had been left in the past thanks to the Devourer Art. 

'Accepting my Master's proposal was the right decision,' Ruvan thought to himself.

"Congratulations…" Xiong Mei said dryly as she entered the cave where Ruvan had been cultivating.

"Thank you Master… All this was possible thanks to you" Ruvan thanked honestly.

"Hmm"

"And good? What do you think of the Devourer Art and its effects?" Xiong Mei asked curiously, after all we were talking about a mythical divine grade technique.

"It's impressive… The speed with which I can cultivate is on another level…" Ruvan said honestly.

"However…"

"I don't like using women as a catalyst… At least I would prefer to avoid it if possible" Ruvan said with a bitter smile.

"Hmm, it is possible to avoid using women, but to do so you must find talented cultivation partners who will provide you with enough Yin Qi for your advancements," Xiong Mei said honestly.

"But when I say talented women I am talking about women with special physiques after all you will need a large amount of Yin Qi to catch up with the Yang Qi you absorb from male cultivators" Xiong Mei said honestly. 

After talking for a while longer, they both left the cave. Ruvan had to return to tend to the mercenary band's affairs while Xiong Mei would have to go out to find more 'cultivation resources' for Ruvan.
