YIN-YANG DEVOURER

Dealing with some Bandits (22)

"So how was everything last night?" Ruvan asked with a smile while chatting with Lira.

"It was great… Without a doubt we both felt a connection again like the first time," Lira said with a smile while riding her imposing Earth Horse.

Earth Horses were quite tough and resilient spirit beasts; they were undoubtedly the ideal mount for mercenaries on this continent. However, not everyone could afford them after all they were quite expensive.

"That's great," Ruvan said with a smile as he continued listening to Lira's story.

"That's right… She even confesses that she is a dual cultivator," Lira said with a complex smile. The fame of dual cultivators was well known so it was not strange that she had her reservations.

"And what happens? Does she have a harem or something?" Ruvan asked with interest.

"No. She confessed to me that she almost doesn't like to cultivate with men unless they have a high cultivation."

"Otherwise she prefers contact between women" Lira said with a smile after all she was similar. Except Ruvan she preferred to have female lovers.

"Oh I see? And does she belong to some sect or something like that?

"Yeah. She told me that she is an Elder of a Dual Cultivation Sect that is on a small continent not far from here," said Lira.

"I see... But for an Elder who is so young, her talent is not bad at all" Ruvan said with some interest after all it was rare to see promising talents in a place like this.

The spiritual density of the Marxus continent was not the best and that was reflected in the low cultivation levels of its inhabitants. Although talent could always be found anywhere, without the necessary resources and support, it would eventually evaporate as was almost always the case.

"I know... I asked her if she wasn't interested in joining us but she told me that she doesn't like fights and prefers to avoid them if possible" Lira responded with an ironic smile after all that would be the normal response of a woman. She was the complete opposite after all she was a heroic girl addicted to combat.

"Kyaaaa" "Mommy nooo"

"Clang" "Clang"

While Ruvan was talking with Lira, the sounds of weapons clashing accompanied by a scream invaded his ears.

"What the fuck is going on?"

"Lira take some men and go investigate" Ruvan said.

"Yes, captain," Lira said as she selected ten soldiers riding green horses.

The green horses were the mounts par excellence of the Ruvan battalion, they were quite reliable spiritual beasts however they were a small step below the earth horse that Lira rode.

Lira quickly went to take a look and returned shortly with news.

"This is a group of bandits attacking a caravan of merchants. The guards are on their last legs."

"There is also a woman and a girl who seem to have been taken by the bandits," Lira said while completing her reconnaissance report.

"Mmm, let's have some fun," Ruvan said with a blow as he patted Virirdis to crawl towards the place. Lira left one of the mercenaries of the shipment in charge and quickly joined the fray accompanied by the ten horsemen who had previously accompanied her.

"Shit, we are completely surrounded," lamented the captain of the guards as he watched his companions fall one by one before the ruthless bandits.

"Kyaaa" "Mommy noooo" The heartbreaking scream of a girl entered the guard's hatred, making him lament the cruelty of this world.

'These bastards even have no mercy on a mother and her daughter,' the captain of the guards cursed as he pierced the throat of one of the bandits.

"I got you, you bastard." Just as he was preparing to remove his sword from the bandit's corpse, he was stabbed in the back. The tip of the bandit's sword protruded from his chest at the level of his heart; it was more than evident that it was a mortal wound.

'Shit... It seems like this ends here...' the captain of the dens muttered with regret as he watched the scene of the mother being held by one of the bandits who was trying to strip her of her clothes.

'What a shitty image to die in,' the guard lamented as the light in his eyes little by little was extinguished in his eyes.

"Krkrkr"

"Splach" Just when I thought that this scene would be the last thing I would see, a huge golden beam shot out of nowhere, hitting the head of the bandit who was trying to rape the woman.

The bandit's head exploded into a thousand pieces.

'Damn bastards' 'It seems like you will also accompany me to hell the guard muttered for the last time as he died with a strange smile on his face.

"Come on, kill these bastards." Ruvan's voice could be heard as Lira and the rest of the mercenaries entered the fray. There were approximately thirty bandits while they were barely twelve.

The bandits' cultivation realm was around the late stages of the Elemental Core Realm while two of them were in the early stages of the Golden Core Realm. They were undoubtedly strong enough to be cultivators of this region.

The bandits were surprised to see one of their leaders die just like that, but they quickly composed themselves and jumped into the fray. Most of them were renegade cultivators who lived off daily looting so they were used to all kinds of scenarios.

"Attack" "Kill those bastards"

"Mmm, that woman is pretty good… I can't wait to try her." The bandits launched a series of insults when they saw Ruvan and his group, but after a few exchanges their expressions went from smiling to solemn.

Although outnumbered, Ruvan's men demonstrated excellent coordination in dealing with the bandits. They formed groups of three cultivators while pressing their backs against each other so as not to leave any openings.

Lira, for her part, waved her hammer like a Goddess of war.

"Splach" "Spalch" "Plach" The sound of crushed heads echoed throughout the battlefield sending chills through the bandits.

Lira was in the first stage of the golden core realm, it was evident that she had a great advantage over the rest of the bandits. Apart from that Lira was using high-grade techniques that Ruvan had provided her.

Five of them including their leader surrounded Ruvan, who had never gotten off Viridis.

"Surrender, you idiot, and tell your men to put down their weapons," the leader of the bandits shouted with fury as he saw how his subordinates kept dropping like flies.

"Poor idiots," Ruvan muttered contemptuously as he stabbed his spear into the ground.

The bandits were surprised to see Ruvan's actions; however a burst of lightning struck them from the ground, turning them into roasted corpses. Even the bandit who was at the Golden Core Realm could not react.
