YIN-YANG DEVOURER

Rescuing the disciples part 1 (60)

'Shit, I haven't even had a chance to see the sect and I'm already on a highly dangerous mission' Ruvan cursed internally.

“And how do I find the group of disciples…?”

“Here” Jena said before throwing him a small talisman.

“This is a location talisman… The Elder in charge of the group of disciples has one of them… This way you can locate them”

“Any questions, ask Yu-Hee, she is a disciple of the central courtyard” Sect Master Jena said.

“Do you need a mount?”

“No… I have mine” Ruvan said with a smile. At that moment a small green snake jumped from the sleeve of his robe straight to the ground.

'Damn... That snake is really scary'

'I don't care what they tell me, I'm not going to approach that guy no matter how handsome he is with that snake at his side...' The girls in the group murmured in amazement and fear as they saw how the small and insignificant snake transformed into a huge three meter long creature. Her red eyes did nothing but provoke fear in the group of disciples.

“Oh wow… Pretty snake~”

"Well. If there are no more doubts, you can go after all; you are against time and you wouldn't want to disappoint your Master. Would you?” Jena said in a voice clear enough to be heard by everyone in the vicinity.

'Shit... She's testing me in front of everyone.'

'Well, if you want to see what I'm capable of, then so be it' Ruvan smiled to himself as he jumped on Virids' head.

“It's been a long time” Ruvan said with a smile as he patted the snake that was eager to go hunting.

“Sssss”

“Hey you… Yu-Hee. Right? Take it" Ruvan said as he handed him the Locator Talisman. "

“You know the terrain better than me… I will trust you to get us there as soon as possible” Ruvan said with a serious look.

“I-I understand” Yu-Hee said with a look full of astonishment, after all she didn't expect Ruvan to acknowledge his lack of experience in front of her.

'At least this guy seems somewhat reasonable...'

The disciple named Yu-Hee had shown open hostility towards Ruvan after all she had just been removed from the mission command. The fact that Ruvan left her in charge of leading the group certainly gave her a good first impression.

“Let's go” Ruvan said while pointing his spear.

“You heard! Come on!" Yu-Hee said causing the rest of the disciples to start their mounts.

“Let's see what you're capable of, boy,” Jena murmured with a smile as she watched Ruvan's group leave.

“Can you give me some context about what is happening…? I just arrived at the Sect” Ruvan said with a bitter smile as he mounted Viridis. The group moved quickly through the forest paths.

"Oh really? The Sect Master didn't tell you anything?” Yu-Hee asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I've been traveling to other continents while training… You can say I'm new to this whole Sect thing.”

“You know how my Master is… She could be someone quite eccentric,” Ruvan said with a bitter smile while mixing truths with lies. The short time he had interacted with Jena had given him an overview of her personality so he was quickly able to put together the scene of a pitiful disciple who suffered at the whims of his master.

“You are right… The Sect Master can certainly be quite particular.” Yu-Hee smiled.

Yu-Hee was a girl with black eyes and beautiful black hair which was tied in a long but beautiful ponytail. If there was one notable feature of Yu-Hee it would undoubtedly be her sexy and muscular rear, which seemed to gently cushion the rest of her body as she rode on her mount.

'This girl has all the air of a beauty from the eastern continents...' Ruvan thought to himself as he continued talking with Yu-Hee.

“Elder Yurie's group was sent to secure control of one of the spiritual crystal mines that our Sect controls on the northern border of our territory?”

“Who threatens her?”

“They are the bastards of the Wandering Peak Sect” Yu-Hee said with an expression full of hatred.

“Wandering Peak Sect? No matter how you hear it, it doesn't sound like a majestic place” Ruvan said with a half-smile.

“They are a Sect made up of pure bandits and outlaws…”

“They barely have history compared to our Sect” Yu-Hee said proudly.

“And why do those guys dare to attack our Sect? I mean, don't they fear the Thousand Desires Sect reaction?” Ruvan asked with curiosity, after all the Hidden Flower Sect was nothing more than a subordinate power to the Thousand Desires Sect.

“Did you perhaps live in a cave during all your training?” Yu-Hee asked almost with a shout. Seeing that her actions had attracted the attention of the rest of the disciples, she quickly felt ashamed.

“I mean… The Sect Master hasn't even told you anything about that?”

“No… Like I told you before. Until a few hours ago I came back… I hardly had contact with my Master during my training trip” said Ruvan while trying to sound as convincing as possible.

“Well... It doesn't matter; you'll hear it from her sooner or later.”

“It is an open secret that our Sect's relationship with the Thousand Desires Sect has cooled over the past few years” Yu-Hee said with a bitter expression.

"Really?"

"Hmm"

“Supposedly the relationship between our Sect Master and the Grand Matriarch of the Thousand Desires Sect has soured over the past few hundred years to the point where we hardly receive any support from the Thousand Desires Sect…”

'Wow... I really didn't expect that. I wonder if this is part of Master's ploy to avoid attracting the attention of the Patriarch...’ Ruvan wondered internally as he continued to chat with Yu-Hee.

“That sounds complicated…”

“That's right… It is for this reason that many minor Sects and Powers that were previously obedient to us have begun to show rebellious attitudes.”

“The Wandering Peak Sect is just one of the many powers that seek to escape our control and of course our enemies are more than willing to support their causes” said Yu-Hee.

As time passed, both of them continued talking while Ruvan tried to familiarize himself with everything around him as quickly as possible.

After a few hours of galloping without rest finally the sound of clashing weapons and screams began to be audible to them.

“Looks like we're close…”

“I need one of you to go reconnoitre the terrain…” Ruvan said as he began to give orders in a calm manner. Yu-Hee couldn't help but be surprised when she noticed how Ruvan seemed to be used to giving orders.

'This guy is strange’ Yu-Hee thought to herself as she helped Ruvan organize the group of disciples.
