Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.38 New teacher?

[Alice POV]

[Just after Alice casted Shade]

I look around the darkened garden to see the reactions of everyone here. Teacher is extremely surprised and seems to be muttering something. I can’t hear him though. Brian got up from the table he was sitting at and he quickly opened and closed his mouth. Did I surprise even an angel? Jenna is standing next to the table Brian was sitting at with no noticeable reaction. No, she might be a bit scared. I’m not sure. I’ve never seen Jenna scared before.

Brian is slowly making his way over here. He isn’t walking with his usual confidence. It doesn’t really matter to me. I go up to him and give him a big hug. Who cares if teacher sees us doing this. Jenna already saw this morning.

“Alice, do you hear me? You need to dispel this darkness.” Brian said to me. But why? It’s just shady. You can still clearly see.

“But why?” I ask him. “It’s just a little dark and it’s my first successful spell. I want to enjoy it longer.”

“Alice, no one else can see anything. And this darkness is even preventing sound from traveling long distances. You need to dispel it or everyone will panic even more.” He told me. What do you mean can’t see anything? But I can clearly see around. And I hear him just fine. He was also capable of walking up to me.

“But… you could see me.” I said carefully.

“I can’t see you Alice.” Brian said to me. But then how. “Laura helped me through the darkness. Please, dispel it.”

So he did it thanks to being an angel. I guess I have no choice.

“Fine. If you really ask me like that.” I said to him and let go of the spell. It took a little while for the shade to disappear, but that might be because it is my first spell. I need to practice control better.

After I let Brian out of my hug, he made his way over to teacher. I didn’t notice, but for some reason teacher is on the ground. Did he pass out from the excitement? It seems Brian was checking up on him and now is just holding his hand on teacher’s stomach.

“Brian, what are you doing?” I asked him.

He explained that teacher had run out of mana trying to dispel my shade. But teacher is a great mage. He shouldn’t run out of mana like that. When I asked Brian about it, he said it’s because water is bad at dispelling dark spells. It seems like Brian is now sharing his mana with teacher. Does that mean Brian has the water attribute? Teacher told me that you can only share mana with those who have the same attribute as you.

After sharing mana with teacher, Brian said we need to call father. I really don’t want to. But Brian insisted due to my spell's effect. Was it really that bad? Well, Jenna did seem frozen, so… But, it was my first spell. It couldn’t have been so powerful.

Brian started questioning me, asking how I was feeling. How should I answer that? I feel great. I casted a spell successfully. But If I really frightened everyone I would feel bad. I don’t mind giving father a scare, but everyone else is different.

I asked Brian if it was even possible for me to cast such a powerful spell and he said I used too many skills at once. I do have Magic Boost and I was using it, but could that really be enough?

And now father is here. Please go away. I can’t deal with you right now. He came onto me with his usual super scary aura, demanding to know if I casted a spell. As I answered he began hounding Brian about it. Please forgive him for jumping onto you. And please keep his attention on you.

But that didn’t last. Father began demanding that I cast a spell again. Yelling at me. Please just stop. I just can’t. Not now. Someone help me!

And someone did. Brian. He got between my father and me, and began holding father back. Brian was insulting father for all of his obsession over the prophecy. Well, he is not wrong, but what lord wouldn’t try to protect their town.

As their argument was getting even more heated, I noticed that Brian pulled out a card. Is he planning on fighting father? But it seems Brian was arguing about the blond haired magician part of the prophecy. Why would he focus on that?

“I summon Dark Magician Girl.” Brian said as he performed his summon. I’ve only seen him do it once before, but it really is impressive. The amount of mana surging feels surreal. And the mana this time feels better than it did with that metal golem.

Out of the card, descended a blond haired girl in a blue and pink robe. Did he summon a magician? That shouldn’t be possible. I know he told me in the carriage that he can summon humanoid monsters, but this. Even the legendary original summoner couldn’t summon humans. But I guess for an angel, anything is possible. He did talk about these monsters going up against Gods. But what Gods would you fight? I might need to ask him.

Father seemed to have gone mad after seeing Brian’s new summon. I can’t blame him, it is… well, I don’t know what it is.

“Hello there.” The summoned monster greeted me? They can do that? I didn’t know they could speak.

“He.. hello.” I said back weakly. Her mana is much stronger than my own. She must be a great magician.

“You don’t need to be so nervous Alice. I won’t hurt you.” She said. But how does she know my name?

“How… how do you know my name?” I asked.

“Lady Laura told me when I was summoned.” She said.

Lady Laura? Wasn’t Laura the name Brian gave his system support? Can system support do something like that? Father did say something about Brian’s unique skill, being a part of the system. It does remind me of the status menu.

“I see.” I said back.

“I heard Master gave you the dark attribute. Would you like me to teach you some dark magic?” She asked me. Her? Teaching me? But she is so strong. There is no way someone like her would ever teach me.

“But… I… Would you really? Teach me?” I asked. My words get caught in my throat. The only reason teacher Trystan agreed to teach me is money. What could I give her in return for the teaching?

“Of course I will. As long as Master says it’s fine. And I’m sure we can make him give in.” She said in a teasing way.

So, she really will teach me. I’ll have an amazing teacher now, right. Not that Trystan was a bad teacher. But I’m not sure he could really teach me dark magic spells.

“Dark Magician Girl! Stop HIM!” I heard Brian yell out. I look behind Brian’s summon and see father charging at us.

“What a fool.” The summon said. Hopefully she won’t hurt father. Too much. “Dark press.”

An orb of darkness appeared before her and she quickly moved it to float on top of father’s head. As it made its way there, father crashed into the ground. What is that spell? I’ve never heard of it?

“Lesson one.” She said to me, noticing my questioning gaze. “This spell is Dark Press. It makes it harder for enemies to move in its area. If the spell is powerful enough, it will force them to the ground like that.” She said pointing at father.

Dark Press? And it prevents movement. I wish I had my notebook, but I left it on the blanket. I hope she won’t mind telling me in more detail afterwards. I don't think I could replicate this spell after just seeing it once.

“LET ME GO!” Father was yelling. “ATTACKING A NOBLE IS TREASON! YOU WILL BE EXECUTED FOR THIS!”

“NO!” I yelled at him. You can’t do that.

“You will order that beast to let me go!” Father growled on the ground.

“And if I don’t?” Brian, who had walked up to us, asked. How can he be so calm in this situation?

“I will have you executed.” He said to Brian.

“And how will you do that? Tell your guards to do it? Have you even considered what will happen if you do that?” He asked taunting father.

“Then you will DIE!” Father yelled.

“Sure.” Brian said. “I’ll die while you are stuck to the ground. Do you really think your guards can overpower my summons?”

“That doesn’t matter. They will do as I say.”

“Are you trying to get me to destroy this town?” Brian asked.

“You will never get the chance.” Father said.

“Sure I won’t.” Brian taunted. I feel like I should stop him, but can I really? Do I even want to? Father has locked me up into this estate for my life. I only go outside during the founding festival. And even then, I’m just trapped in a carriage. The dungeon adventure was the first time I really was outside. And even then father had me trapped with guards.

I really hope father will learn from this.

“Could someone please explain what’s going on?” I heard a voice ask. I know that voice. I turn to face her.

Mother.
