A Failure's hopeful Journey

The people inside the command center were all shocked, they could not digest how these kids at the peak core formation realm deal this much damage. Maddison did not bother to tell them. The deputy commander asked, "Are they releasing the accumulated spirit energy?"

His question provoked the old people and a discussion started. They all started to come up with their own speculation, Maddison held her forehead and shouted, "SHUT UP."

The room fell silent, Commander was a scary figure. Maddison had a lot of records under her belt and her power was not to be overlooked. She said, "Spiritual energy interaction. They are changing the nature of spiritual energy by making it interact with their own. The world array creates a vague environment here and so they are exploiting it to their advantage. Now you can process this and shut up. I need to watch them fight."

Without revealing too much of her students' cards she just diffused the chaos and focused on the screen in front of her.

You Xi Wang was making his way to the next boundary flag. He used his sword intent clear up the way. He moved very fast using his shadow skip. The boy was like a flicker. The sword intent radiated by him killed the bugs around him in a radius of five feet. He operated as if he was a machine. Shadow skip, kill the bugs, stab a small boundary flag in the ground, next spot.

The system spoke, [Master, Minato Namikaze and Tobirama Senju would be proud of you.]

You Xi Wang could not help but laugh at this, what he was doing was nothing short of the Teleportation Jutsu, he saw in an anime back on the earth. He replied to the system, 'Should I write a manga. Like, let there be Otaku culture.'

The system replied, [Master, your genius is sometimes frightening.]

You Xi Wang replied in a humble tone, 'I am a man of culture, you glorify me.'

The two started to chat in the mee language from the earth. The boy manipulated the earth element, opened a door in the wall, came out of the barrier, and ran to the nearest boundary flag area to connect the barrier and complete the primary objective. It took him five minutes to reach the place, just as he was about to close the barrier he saw two people in the bug swarm. 

He did not expect anyone to be here and was surprised. The two people seemed to be struggling, but they were surrounded by a lot of bugs. You Xi Wang placed the last flag and charged through to save them. The two men were surprised when they saw the bugs being killed. Looking around their eyes landed on a boy who was walking towards them with his sword dancing constantly.

Closing the barrier meant that the concentration of the bugs will increase a lot as well. So, You Xi Wang had to dance with his sword. The killing spree only brought them a momentary relief. The two-man regrouped with him as said, "Thank you for coming, Captain."

They recognized the epaulets on his shoulders. The boy was superior and took pain to save them. You Xi Wang asked, "What is the situation? Why did you not evacuate with the rest of your team?"

The two people were covered in various wounds and scratches. The bugs would eat human flesh slowly. Even at this moment, they were fighting against the swarm as they talked. After some hesitation, the man with an assault rifle said, "Our captain ordered us to hold the fort as he went to call for backup."

You Xi Wang snorted as he spat, "COWARD." calming his disgust he asked, "Where is the rest of your team?"

The man answered, "Two died, one is lost in the swarm. We don't know what to do, sir." by the end of the sentence his voice started to break up. You Xi Wang said sternly, "You back. I will try to see if I can find your comrade. Leave."

The two men did not hesitate, in such a swarm a senior officer rescued them and even promised to look for their teammate. This was good enough for them. With You Xi Wang's support, the two people were sent out.

Maddison saw all this in the command center, knowing You Xi Wang's temperament she decided not to issue any orders to him. She picked up the communicator and said, "Phantom two, Come in. Do you copy?"

Fenny immediately responded, "Go for Phantom Two, over."

The commander spoke, "You are assigned to clean up the swarmed area and take back the initial territory."

Fenny did not respond for a few seconds then said, "Task received, commencing operation, over and out." her cold voice was enough to tell Maddison that she was pissed at her but Fenny would never disrespect her. She was angry because the team figured out that You Xi Wang must have been sent to do something alone.

Fenny put down the communicator, as she spoke, "You all have ten minutes. I want this thing cleared and aid Xi Wang. Get it?"

The other three replied, "HOO-AH"

With a war cry, the rampage began. Spirit spells, weapons, bombs, and highly destructive martial arts started to erupt. They were all fighting inside the barrier set by You Xi Wang. Fenny's command was simple, create waves and let them push back the swarm. The waves were attacks used together to create waves, kill bugs while Fenny deployed some drones behind them in a line. They all carried the barrier flags and would close the path as the team moved forward.

Meanwhile, You Xi Wang was searching for the third person. He used his soul sense, the system detected some traces of the third member and led the boy to the deeper regions as they slaughtered the bugs.

Inside his soul sense, he saw a scene that made You Xi Wang enraged. The third member was a girl, at this moment the bugs were ripping off her battle suit and except for a few scratches, she looked fine. She was lying down on the ground, seemingly unconscious. You Xi Wang asked the system, 'Can you figure out what they are trying to do?'

The system replied, [They are trying to lay their eggs inside the girl, the eggs will hatch and the girl will be eaten from inside out.]

You Xi Wang asked, 'Are you sure?' his eyes widened in shock. These bugs were intelligent.

The system said, [No shit genius, they want to savor the girl's meat for her physique. Look properly, see is that girl, not Gena?]
