After Simulating a Million Years, I Became the Holy Emperor of the Human Race

Chapter 9: Setting Up a Stall

The next day, a new stall appeared in Demon City. Strangely, there was nothing on it except an empty rag on the ground. The stall owner sat contentedly with a wine bottle and a small drink.

There was also a signboard that read, “Ten thousand high-grade source crystals to solve one problem.” This person was none other than Gu Changsheng. Yesterday, he had spent his last two mid-grade source crystals on drinking and gathering information. Now, he had no money left—not even to buy clothes for Hong Hong or afford more drinks.

As for finding a few women to vent his anger on, that also required money. So, after some thought, he decided to set up a stall.

From morning to noon, as the sun climbed high, no one paid attention to his stall. The price of "ten thousand high-grade source crystals" was simply too expensive. Source crystals were divided into low-grade, medium-grade, high-grade, and top-grade, with an exchange ratio of one thousand to one. Ten thousand high-grade source crystals were equivalent to 10 million mid-grade source crystals or 10 billion low-grade source crystals. For an ordinary family of three, the annual expenditure was only three low-grade source crystals.

Gu Changsheng's price was something ordinary people would take countless years to accumulate. So, when people saw his price, they were first shocked, then thought he was crazy. If someone could afford 10,000 high-grade source crystals, why would they need help from an ordinary person like him?

Gu Changsheng showed no fluctuations in his cultivation aura, making everyone think he was just an ordinary person. He didn't care what others thought. As the Holy Emperor of the human race, the Immortal Emperor, and the strongest person from ancient times to the present, ten thousand high-grade source crystals were not much to him.

After a long wait, business finally came. Gu Changsheng took a sip of wine, noticing a young man in coarse linen clothes standing not far from the stall, hesitating as he looked at the sign. After an internal struggle, the young man approached Gu Changsheng.

"Ten thousand high-grade source crystals can solve a problem. Any problem can be solved?" the boy asked.

"Naturally," Gu Changsheng replied calmly.

The young man's eyes flickered with hope, but the people nearby looked on with sarcasm. They couldn't believe he dared to ask, and Gu Changsheng dared to answer. The young man, despite his ragged appearance, had an upright demeanor and a bit of a fairy-like spirit in his temperament.

"But what's with this boy? Wearing rags and linen clothes, has he ever even seen a source crystal? And he dares to ask such a question."

Everyone else shook their heads, thinking the young man was planted by the stall owner. The young man felt very uncomfortable under their gazes. His sallow face was full of urgency, reminding Gu Changsheng of socially anxious people from his previous life. The boy's complexion was obviously due to malnutrition.

"I don't have a source crystal, but I have something else," the young man said.

"Ha!" A nearby stall owner couldn't help but laugh. "Boy, do you even understand what ten thousand high-grade source crystals are worth? Come on, let's see what you have that's worth that much."

He was convinced that the young man was working with Gu Changsheng. What could be worth ten thousand high-grade source crystals? He hadn't seen anything like it.

Hearing the ridicule, the young man lowered his head in shame. He didn't know the difference between 10,000 high-grade source crystals and 10,000 low-grade ones. He only knew that source crystals were valuable.

As the stall owner continued to mock the young man, Gu Changsheng gave him a cold look. The man froze, as if struck by lightning, and began sweating profusely, his face turning pale as if he had seen a ghost.

Gu Changsheng then addressed the young man. "What is it? Take it out and let me see."

The young man reached into his clothes and took out a simple jade stone, dull and unremarkable, but etched with mysterious lines.

Gu Changsheng's eyes narrowed. In his eyes, the young man's entire demeanor changed when he produced the jade. Before, the boy was just an ordinary, sallow, skinny youth. But now, he seemed like a banished immortal, his luck radiating like a rainbow, nearly matching that of Hong Hong, his disciple.

This jade was clearly extraordinary.

Gu Changsheng felt a strange connection to the young man. "What do you want me to do?" he asked.

The young man's face lit up with joy, realizing the jade was sufficient payment. "Please, immortal master, save my sister."

"Oh?" Gu Changsheng replied with interest. "Is that all?"

The boy nodded.

"If I teach you the supreme immortal method and set you on the path of cultivation, you could become an immortal and an ancestor. Do you still want to save your sister?"

The young man hesitated briefly, then nodded again. "My sister is my only relative. If I abandon her now, even if I succeed in my cultivation, I will be plagued by guilt and inner demons."

"That's interesting. Come on, take me to meet your sister," Gu Changsheng said with a smile.

"Master Immortal, please accept this," the young man said, handing the jade to Gu Changsheng.

Gu Changsheng took the jade without hesitation. "It does not belong to the world of mortals," he murmured softly. He put the jade away and left with the young man.
