Batman in the MCU

Plans for Ultron

Fury with a hood casting a shadow over his face observed the bustling society before him. His one eye taking in the sights with disbelief, when he was informed of widow's Isle, he had expected a lot but nothing like this.

"How did you know about this place?" the sudden question caused him to jump forward with his head whipping around to find the source. Behind him stood the Batman staring at him with his patented Bat glare.

"When you all suddenly disappeared, I started pulling old contacts and-" "Hill told you" Batman cut him off.

"Don't presume to think you can hide things from me, my eye sees everywhere" Fury's voice remained even as he tried to regain some semblance of control. All his words did however simply caused the Batman to move forward until he was but mere centimeters away.

"Don't play your games with me, Talos"

Talos' eye widened, "I... what the-" "stop" Batman brought a halt to Talos trying to keep up his charade. With Talos but a breath away, bearing the full brunt of the Bat glare he remembered the moment they had first met and shifted back to his original form.

"How the f*ck did you know?" Seeing there was no point in denying it anymore, Talos asked the most important question in his heart at that moment. "I'm Batman" those words caused Talos to almost loose it, "of course you f*cking are I don't even know why I try. Hold up if you know about me then do you know about?..."

"It doesn't matter. Why are you here?" Batman questioned, Talos' earlier question had made it all too clear how he had found out about this place so Batman shifted his questioning to what exactly Talos was doing here.

"Right Fury has a message" Bats question stopped Talos' thoughts from wandering as he recalled his purpose.

The avengers alongside Orphan, Melina and the red guardian had gathered in a room as Talos disguised as Fury spoke to them.

"Ultron took you folks out of play to buy himself time. My contacts all say he's building something. The amount of Vibranium he made off with, I don't think it's just one thing." Fury's opening words caused the looks of the avengers to go from bad to worse as their minds run rampant with ideas of what Ultron could be up to.

Steve crossed his arm and questioned,  with the frown on his face deepening "What about Ultron himself?"

"Ah. He's easy to track, he's everywhere. Guy's multiplying faster than a Catholic rabbit. Still doesn't help us get an angle on any of his plans though."

"He still going after launch codes?"  Tony who was deep in thought turned to Fury and asked the main question that plagued him.

"Yes, he is, but he's not making any headway."

"The defenses I set up have all been broken down" Batman's words caused the already somber mood to get even heavier as the last bits of hope seemed to be drained out of the people present.

Orphan on the other hand simply gave Batman a gaze one which he held, in but a moment the two had, had a conversation with naught but their eyes.

"Yeah, well, I contacted our friends at the NEXUS about that." Fury's words caused all eyes to focus on him as the embers of hope began to flicker behind those eyes.

"NEXUS?" The man out of time made his confusion clear to all.

"It's the world internet hub in Oslo, every byte of data flows through there, fastest access on earth." Banner cleared his friends confusion.

Clint always the one to focus on the price, "So what'd they say?"

"He's fixated on the missiles, but the codes are constantly being changed." Fury made them aware of the current situation, but his answer only served to bring about more questions from those present.

Tony was the first to speak up, "By whom?"

"Parties unknown." Fury's response was an immediate one.

"Do we have an ally?" Nat was the next to question Fury.

"Ultron's got an enemy, that's not the same thing. Still, I'd pay folding money to know who it is."

"Perhaps you already do" Batman's cryptic words caused most present to give him a quick glance.

Tony simply decided to ignore Batman's words "I might need to visit Oslo, find our 'unknown.' "

Natasha let out a scoff, "Well, this is good times, boss, but I was kind of hoping when I saw you, you'd have more than that."

Fury smirked, "I do, I have you. Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere, ears everywhere else. Here we all are, back on earth, with nothing but our wit, and our will to save the world. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard."

Natasha gave a smirk, "Steve doesn't like that kind of talk."

Steve turned to Natasha who was smiling mischievously at him, "You know what, Romanoff?"

The banter within the two managed to diffuse the tense atmosphere, putting all present at ease.

Fury questioned once everyone was calm, "So what does he want?"

"To become better. Better than us. He keeps building bodies."

"Person bodies." Stark pointed out, "The human form is inefficient, biologically speaking, we're outmoded. But he keeps coming back to it."

Natasha let out a quip at Tony, "When you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed."

"Or maybe they didn't, What makes you so sure protection was the prime directive?"Batman spoke up, his words causing a look of realization to flash over Bruce's features

"They don't need to be protected, they need to evolve. Ultron's going to evolve."

"How?" Fury was alarmed as to what methods Ultron might take to achieve his goal.

" Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?"
