Chapter 100: Confusing Return…

(Ria’s POV)

The conversation that we were having was… productive, to say the least. As to rather or not that we will actually be able to kill those Will’s… that I have no idea of. And in my opinion, the only one that would be able to do such a thing, would have to be Celia.

I did wish that this talk of highest being murder kept going, as God showed up and gave us some concerning news… Why can’t anything just go well for us? Is the Will messing with us on purpose?…

Ria: “Please repeat your words, as we were too shocked to listen and process them properly.” I ask.

God: “I have to repeat it?… Fine… I did enough research into Sava’s universe. Unlike most universes, hers isn’t fixed at all. Which is most likely why the Will isn’t able to save Celia.” She explained once more.

Yona: “Is there really no way to find her, then?” She asked with a sad expression.

God: “I didn’t say that we couldn’t find her! I was just telling you all that it will probably take far longer to actually find her.” She quickly clarified.

Everyone: “…”

Even longer? So… what? We’ll have to wait thousands of years to find her? What a cruel and sick joke… My eyes were on my feet. I couldn’t remember the last time that I’ve ever looked down like this. Sure. I have looked down at my feet probably millions, if not billions of times before. But this is one of the rare times where I am looking down, only due to me being sad…

Thinking as hard as I could, I thought about every possible way that we could find Celia. Some ways that would even break the natural law, but that was just how desperate I was right now. Looking up, I wanted to toss some of these solutions to God. But…

Ria: “…”

The world was frozen. This wasn’t time magic, either. It was like… the universe had just stopped moving altogether. In such a state, nothing would ever be recorded into this dimension. Who… Sava?

Sava: “What an unwelcoming gaze that you’re directing toward me.” She said without much emotion at all.

Ria: “…And why would I be even slightly welcoming of you?” I stay with the scoff.

Why do I get the feeling that this woman is somehow different from before? She wasn't always like this, right? Before, she was beyond annoying. Insane, almost… She was too different… Is this even the same person?

Sava: “Oh? Not even a small thanks for all the help that I've given you?” She said with a small chuckle.

Ria: “Help? At what point have you ever helped any of us? Let alone me… You’re just the person who stole our family member!” I yell in anger.

Sava: “It does make sense that you do not remember, as that was my intention. Though it does hurt to be hated like this…” She said with an oddly sad tone.

Ria: “…”

Sad? For what reason would she be sad? And why is she acting like a good friend to us? In reality, none of us should have any goodwill toward her. And yet, she acts like we owe her something…

Sava: “Though my help to you all was vital, I didn't do it looking for your appreciation. Rather, helping you all also helps me out most of all.” She admitted with a sigh.

Ria: “What does that even mean?” I reply with a head tilt.

Sava: “Maybe one day, you all will know the truth… But at the moment, none of that is any of my concern.” She replied.

Ria: “Are you here just to taunt me? Just to gloat that we won't be able to find you?” I see what an angry tone.

Sava: “To gloat? For what purpose would I do such a thing?” She replied with a confused tone.

Ria: “Aren’t you just running me in circles?” I say with an annoyed tone.

Sava: “Circles… Apologies, that wasn’t my intention at all. That’s just something in my nature, it seems… it’s not like I can do this universe freeze forever, either.” She replied with a remorseful tone.

It was true? Sava is actually powerful enough to control the universe?… Of course, such a power isn’t one that she can do all the time. The Will must be angry right now, as Sava is using a power that only it should have access to…

Sava: “Ah, I am out of time… Tomorrow, I will bring Celia back to you all. And she will be even better than the day that you all lost her.” She swore with a bow.

Ria: “…”

The universe started back up, and I was confused. I have felt this feeling before… Did Sava help me, but I couldn’t keep my memories? That idea seems to be all the more believable now…

Ria: “Everyone, we should head home and rest.” I advise.

Of course, they all agreed. Each and every one of them was tired, after all. Even thought that they’re higher beings, mental strain still exists for us. Heading back to the estate, I made sure to keep everyone home. I didn’t explain the reason why. How could I?

Even if she did help us in some way, I couldn’t just take Sava’s words as the truth. Instead, I decided to just have everyone there, just in case Sava was actually telling the truth…

The Next Day.

God: “What…” She said, springing up from the couch.

Devil: “What’s wrong?” She asked with a concerned tone.

Yona: “I wonder what she is worried about as well. It is rare to see such a genuine reaction from God…” She said with a nervous tone.

God: “Don’t you all feel that?…” She asked.

Nia: “Feel what?” She replied.

Lia: “I don’t feel anything…” She added.

God: “Sava… she is coming here, I can feel it. Everyone, head outside quickly! We have no idea if she wants to start a fight with us…” She said with a serious tone.

Quickly, everyone went outside to the front of the estate. Luckily, even with so many people, this estate was huge. And the front was more than capable of housing us all on it.

Rip!

Soon, a tear in the fabric of space appeared before us. It was odd seeing such a thing… Dammit! That means that Sava was still in this universe for a while… She didn’t do something like this before when taking Celia with her. Or… maybe she decided to be flashy this time?

Mena: “Mom!” She exclaimed with a happy tone.

Celia… my dear wife… Why did it feel like I hadn’t seen her for millions upon millions of years? Tears flowed from my eyes, and I wasn’t the only one crying like this. I wanted to run up and give her a hug, plus a kiss. But the situation was still unknown. For one, why was she smiling?

Certainly, she was just as happy as we are about her return. And I do see some tears in her eyes. But… why is she holding Sava’s hand like that?

It wasn’t like one would hold the hand of their lover, though it still rubbed me the wrong way. Celia… she didn’t… befriend Sava… did she? For what purpose did she do that? Why would she even consider doing such a thing? Why does she feel so much more powerful?… This girl, I swear…
