Celia: “…”

Looking at my Status, I was beyond upset. This decrease in power was immense, to say the least. Though, this Status should be actually somewhat stronger than how weak Sava made me a while back. Since it is, I won’t have a hard time of adjusting to this current power.

At the very least, I kept my various Titles. It is highly regrettable now, but I really should have gotten more Titles before the game started… Sava mentioned that gaining Titles is amazingly hard, so my mood isn’t that negatively affected.

With my current Status, surviving will be a major challenge. For now, I should find some easy monsters to kill so that I can level up a bit. At the moment, I am far weaker than paper. I am… wet paper!

Slash!

I was focused on my Status, but my battle-hardened skills allowed me to dodge an attack. Was this game rigged against me already? Putting me in an area like this… I must have built up some immensely bad karmic destiny!…

:Summary:

A Regal Kobold. Such beings tend to be the leaders of their groups, with skills that were honed in countless battles. With their speed and flexibility, even typical Kobolds aren’t foes to underestimate in the least.

-

Before me was a decent sized group of Kobolds, about ten of them. I don’t know the Status of most of them, as I just used Inspect on the strongest looking one. Regardless of their strength, I was majorly outclassed right now…

Thud!

The leader of that group had tossed something at my feet. Looking down at it… there was now a head in front of me. The head was of a man, but wasn’t a normal one. I haven’t seen my appearance, but I should look the same. For higher beings, they mostly look ridiculously beautiful.

And this now deceased man wasn’t an outlier. Just going by his head, the man must have been very handsome indeed. To think that someone would end up dying so early in to the game… Let’s make sure that I am not the next to die!

Kicking the head away, I started to draw out my sword. It wasn’t my preferred one; instead it was a sword that looked like a starter weapon in an RPG or something. Getting their attention, I then sprinted in the opposite direction from them.

Run!

I absolutely couldn’t be dying in this game, so running, though somewhat cowardly, was my best option. The Will of our universe had put too much stock in me, making almost everything easy. In this game, I didn’t have their blessing, so I truly had to take everything seriously this time.

In this game, I wouldn’t be getting a free pass, and the Will won’t be able to secretly help me out. With this, surviving takes priority over being the hero. Not like there was someone to save in this case, mind you.

Lots of Running Later.

Celia: “…”

The Kobolds had kept running after me, seemingly not getting tired in the least. As for me, I, despite now being a weak human, knew how to use my limited energy as best as I could. Though I ran so much, my breathing wasn’t haggard.

While running, I noticed that the beasts were clearly funneling me in a certain direction. The furry beasts stood on two legs, and they looked somewhat human. As such, when glancing back at them, I would always see looks and expressions of glee on their faces. Hunting must be something that they enjoy…

Muge: “How much further will you run, human cub?” He asked, standing in front of me.

Before I could react, the leader had appeared in front of me, and the rest of the Kobolds had surrounded me completely. I actually didn’t expect them to be able to speak like a person. Though, in my opinion, I doubt that they could be reasoned with…

He thinks that I am a child? But my age should be almost forty… Ah, I must look like a young person with how beautiful that I am. I don’t know the aesthetics of Kobolds, but perhaps I look beautiful and superbly young to them?

Celia: “How much? Of course, until you all stop following me.” I reply with a nonchalant tone.

Muge: “…”

Celia: “…”

Looking to be surprised by my words, Muge had broken out into a fit of laughter. Silly dog… I only like it when I make cute women laugh! Wait… why is he even laughing right now? He did this for a while, too. Some of his group even joined in on laughing with their leader.

Muge: “Ha! Human cub, you’re very intriguing.” He added once the laughter stopped.

Celia: “What did I even do to make you laugh like this?” I ask with a confused tone.

From what Sava said, the game takes place in different dimensions. Each dimension wasn’t specifically made for the game, but was selected. This being surely had a soul, and this world has existed for an unknown amount of time.

Muge: “How else? A few humans had shown up in my forest. Not too surprising… but they were so oddly arrogant to an extreme. Killing them was a laughable endeavor, and some would even pathetically beg for their lives. But not you…” He answered.

Celia: “Do you wish to hunt me, or know something interesting?” I ask in reply.

Muge: “Something interesting?” He replied with a curious tone.

I wasn’t told any rules about this game, so I explained it all to him in great detail. Luckily, it did seem like this Muge dude was reasonable. To him, hunting humans just must be a way of life, but Muge was still intelligent. Let’s just hope that my words are enough to sate both his curiosity, and his hunt lust…
