Volume 5. Chapter 35: I Can’t Believe I got Away With it Because I Seduced the Investigator… (Chapter 436.)

Chapter 35: I Can’t Believe I got Away With it Because I Seduced the Investigator…

(Celia’s POV)

Maralia: “Your heart is pounding… Am I scaring you, Celia?” She asked with a warm tone.

Celia: “No.” I deny.

Maralia: “Then… do you accept me?” She replied.

Celia: “That isn’t fully up to me to decide, and through my memories, you know this to be the truth.” I answer.

Maralia: “Of course, I will ask permission from your other wives, rest assured in this. But… is there room?” She nervously asked.

Celia: “I don’t know…” I reply with an unsure tone.

The woman’s intent was obvious, and I even felt love from her. Which was weird, as we do not know each other in the least. Maralia went from being slightly interested in me… to wanting to marry me. What exactly changed in her?…

Celia: “Why do you even like me?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Maralia: “At first it was simple interest, but then… I looked into my future. In that future, I was in a warm home, embracing you, and having petty fights with your other’s wives, purely on who should get your attention and pampering that exact hour of the day.” She explained.

Celia: “…”

Maralia: “Unless you get another wife that dies, I am the last wife you’ll marry. You don’t know me, but that is something that can be solved with time. I am being serious about my heart finally beating, and even just that is more than enough of a reason to marry you on the spot.” She added.

Celia: “I…” My words were cut off.

Maralia: “Ignore your wives for a bit, okay? Can I kiss you? I want to… no, I need to show you my love. Though we only just met, like with your other wives, we’re destined to be together. Why else would my name end with an ia? Guinevere is just an outlier in that sense, though.” She said, practically pleading.

Celia: “I feel like it would be cheating…” I reply with a guilty tone.

Maralia: “Put it on me, Celia. I will take the anger from your wives, and then slowly build up their trust in me. Please… put your faith in me, and I will be as loving and loyal as your other wives.” She replied with a serious tone.

Celia: “…”

Maralia: “Celia, when was the last time that you were selfish? With Tia, right? You got with her, even without your wives permission. But it all worked out for the best. What do you want right now, Celia? That is the most important.” She said with a coaxing tone.

Kiss!

Before the woman could go on and on about the various reasons why I should let her seduce me, I pulled her into a deep kiss. Through it, I felt the clear love from her, and there wasn’t any way to deny this relationship anymore.

Like with my wives, I already felt a deep connection with Maralia, even though we just met. It was the same as them; it was like our souls were destined to be with each other. As I kissed the woman, my heart was… full.

Wrapping my arms around her back, I felt such immense happiness. This was it, the final missing piece of my heart. My family was now completed. My heart was full of enough daughters, and now, my heart had finally been filled with my last wife. This kiss was nice and loving, which lasted a decent while.

A Long Kiss Later.

Maralia: “Celia, make sure your Halo stays a secret. And I will go visit your wives to get their permission.” She said, finally getting up from my body.

Celia: “You can do that?” I say with a head tilt.

Maralia: “I can, but I cannot help them in any way. Even this right here is enough to get me in deep trouble. Celia, you shouldn’t have any problems from now on, so just survive and win this game.” She said with a smile.

Celia: “You make it sound like I am destined to win it…” I reply with an awkward laugh.

Maralia: “You are not, but I feel like there is a high chance that you will. Or you’ll find some other way to have you and your family survive. Either way, after the game, only one final hurdle will exist, and then you can have the peaceful and loving life that you wish for, and very much deserve.” She said, giving me a light kiss on my lips.

Maralia said that staying by my side would be a horrible idea, and might get her arrested, and could even get me executed. So she had to stay away from me until the game was over. As such, the woman soon left, and my heart was once again lonely. I never realized how dependent I am on the warmth from my family…

Celia: “Silly girl… through this entire thing, you just stayed asleep.” I say with a giggle, lightly playing with June’s hair.

Touching her head, I realized that she was burning up to an extreme temperature. Ice magic, which makes ice that doesn’t really melt by itself, even on an open, non magic, flame, didn’t work, either. Placing some ice on her head, I saw that it would quickly melt, making steam emit from off her forehead.

Fuck… Sava warned me about this, but I had forgotten her words until now. With the game, there is no way for any angels to oversee someone’s evolution into a God or Goddess. This is a major issue, as the change is extreme.

Of course, with this game being won by evolution and getting stronger, Sava said that the effects would be nowhere near as bad as usual. Instead, one just needs to rest, and have someone take care of them for a while.

For beings that have already evolved into a God or Goddess, the change would be even less painful and dangerous. But June was always a human. And, to my knowledge, had never been a Higher Being.

Celia: “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you, June.” I say with a loving tone.

She wasn’t one of my wives, but June was a dear friend to me. As such, I would be taking care of her to the best of my abilities. First things first, I have to cool her body down.

So, I placed ice around her body via magic, and kept putting more and more each time pieces of it melted. I might have to do this for a few days, or up to even weeks or months, but I don’t mind. June is someone that I hope can survive this game, and I wasn’t about to let her die from evolving. Ah, maybe I should have been a doctor in my last life, and not a teacher…
