Alex was relentless with his attacks on the angry kirin like was almost helpless against him in the fog , almost. After getting struck by Alex's tail for the fifth time in a row the kirin resorted to random attacks in every direction. This worked too as even though it couldn't see him Alex got struck over and over again by the rampaging electricity. 'It's a good thing I unlocked that [insulated scales] trait , or else I might be in a way worse state than this.' Alex thought seriously. Clearly the kirin was desperate to get rid of Alex as it was wasting the majority of it's energy on it's surroundings.

'I just need to out last it's energy pool , then I can go for the kill.' He thought with gritted teeth as another bolt struck him. 'Ten minutes , it took the kirin ten fucking minutes to run out of energy.' Alex thought angrily as his body groaned under the damage it had sustained in this time. There wasn't a single part of his body not injured right now and he had a weakened target he could take it out on. The fog started to dissipate as Alex dashed forward ignoring his pain towards the ragged breathing of the kirin with murder in his eyes.

Alex saw the kirin standing on wobbly legs through the thin smoke and launched himself up an onto it's back forcing it down. The elder started thrashing in an attempt to fend him off but Alex dug his claws into the soft underside of it's throat and pulled. The entire front of the elders throat was torn open violently spewing dark red blood everywhere. Alex's instincts warned him and he immediately leapt away just in time as lightning crashed on the Kirin's locations with the greatest intensity of this entire fight.

Once the lethal light show ended Alex saw the kirin laying on the ground motionless , dead. 'Note to self , kirins are vicious bastards.' he thought as he remembered the last ditch effort by the elder to take him down with it. Alex carefully approached the corpse to make sure it wasn't just playing dead before he relaxed and grabbed it. The people of astera made a huge ruckus when Alex arrived covered in injuries carrying a dead kirin. Alex wasn't happy to learn that this kirin was merely an adolescent due to his injuries but he had roughly guessed as much due to it's rank.

A true mature kirin was at either high rank or master rank so this one being at the peak of low rank made sense. The biggest problem however came in the form of the scholars who wanted the entire corpse for themselves. Alex was far too injured to have enough patience to deal with this bullshit and he made it abundantly clear he wasn't sharing. For once the commander was on Alex's side and agreed to this hunt being exclusively his. This definitely had nothing to do with the fact that Alex looked about two seconds away from roasting the scholar alive , nope not at all.

The kirins hide was tanned and turned into a rug by Alex while it's horn and bones were given to Zane for a weapon. The meat and organs however were cooked up by the head chef who found it a worthy challenge on par with zorah's meat. The meat was slightly tangy and heavily gamey so the chef needed to soak it in a salted alcohol bath to weaken those flavors for a couple hours before he roasted , stewed and fried the meat with vegetables and hot peppers.

The organs were blended up into a paste before being stuffed into a pie with potatoes , leeks , carrots and cabbage that had all been minced and spiced before the pie was baked. Alex got a LOT of jealous eyes as he ate the meal but he ignored all of them while only sharing with the little wyvern since he was still trying to turn the runt into a variant. If the flesh and organs of a thunder elemental elder dragon weren't enough to give it the final push it needed Alex figured he had his work cut out for him.
