Arc 1: The Meeting - Chapter 64

Man, last night was a bit intense. The girls were extra wild; more than once, they accidentally lost grip of their strength, breaking a few bones of mine in the process. A few Senzu Beans fixed that quickly enough. Luckily, I didn't die once during the last night of sex.

Then again, it wouldn't make much of a difference. After all, I'd already died to Nyarla's breasts, so death to intense long sex won't be a big deal.

Anywho, new cheats! Yes, cheats as in plural. Perfect Timing found two new glowing books to read, and today is an excellent time to gain the cheats within them.

The first one is Warping: The ability to bend and contort forces and matter to achieve any desired effects.

The second one is Impossible State Survival: The power to remain alive even in a state where death should be unavoidable.

The first one, I have no idea why Perfect Timing was picked out for me. The Impossible State Survival; however, I can easily see why I would need it. After all, I've died more than enough times to go through a hundred reincarnation cycles at minimum. More than half done by Nyarla's heavenly breasts.

So after obtaining the two new cheats, I start preparing everyone's meal for today. Everyone is doing their things in Nyarla's apartment.

Suddenly, someone knocks on the door, causing everything to stop, and we all look at the door still being knocked on.

"Hello? Is anyone in? Auntie Nyarla? Are you there?" A female voice is heard behind the door, still being knocked on.

I look at Nyarla, mouthing the word: Auntie with a bewildered look.

Nyarla shrugs, then walks over to the door, and she opens it to reveal someone nearly the same figure as Nyarla's and is a more green theme, with twin pigtails. Her outfit was mainly just a green bikini with an oversized green jacket over it, then white high-thigh shoes and Japanese schoolgirl-type shoes.

Well, there is another character from Crawling Dreams. Shu is the name used in the series, and it was already revealed she is, in fact, Shub Niggurath too. Funny enough, in Lovecraft, Takamine, aka Darkness, is the father of Shub Niggurath. Therefore, making Takamine the mother of Shu.

"Shu?" Nyarla looks surprised, then frown. "Why are you here?"

"I'm here to bring your caretaker to meet with someone important and determine if he will stay as your caretaker or not." Shu replied, then her eyes glanced over Nyarla's shoulders. "Hi, mom!" Shu waves cheerfully.

"Hello, Shu." Takamine waved back.

I blankly stare at Takamine, then back at Shu and back to Takamine.

Crazy voices; I know how busty the female characters are in Crawling Dreams. But, damn, I feel like Shu is more of Nyarla's daughter than Takamine's daughter going by body figure alone.

On another note, how does the whole giving birth thing work and being in a relationship with others in the Eldritch pantheon? Because by no means am I going to be stupid and use normal human logic on Eldritch pantheon; after all, for all I know, the whole father term could be completely different in the Eldritch pantheon. Furthermore, marriage might be a useless thing in the Eldritch pantheon.

In addition, the Boss had placed themself down as a 'parent' of Nyarla in the past, and I thought Yui was the Boss for a split second. So, this brings me to think that the concept of father, mother, marriage, etc., could be a weird term for something else in the Eldritch pantheon. And knowing the bizarre and crazy of this pantheon, I wouldn't be surprised if a parent is just another title for something else.

"What do you mean if Jin here will stay as my caretaker or not?" Nyarla asks coldly, causing Shu to take a step back nervously. "Why would Jin be somewhere but my side?"

Oh, dear. Nyarla's yandere side is acting up again.

"Y-You see is that there were others recruited after Jin successfully became part of the Eldritch pantheon as a caretaker; so far, we've checked to see if they could survive long enough to be converted into a member of the Eldritch pantheon. However, none manage to live past the first day." Shu reported.

That reminds me of the others before me. I'm willing to bet it's due to bad luck, and some were too damn horny upon finding out who they were taking care of. There's a high chance the ones they were supposed to take care of are similar to the appearance level as Nyarla. Making them take on risks that cost them their lives.

"Aren't you special, Jin." Takamine poke me with a smirk on her face.

"I think I'm just lucky." I replied, knowing full well that if it wasn't for the cheats and creating the Nen ability: Perfect Timing. I wouldn't be alive right now.

"So what makes it a good idea to take Jin from me?" Nyarla growls.

"I don't know...! I'm just the messager!" Shu shrieked in fear.

"Calm down now, Nyarla. I'm sure little Shu has no control over this." Yui places a hand on Nyarla's shoulder to calm her down. "So how about explaining to everyone why Jin is potentially being relocated to another group to care for instead of sticking to this one he is already doing a great job taking care of?"

Shu quickly nods, "Well, seeing how there were complaints from others wanting Jin to be their caretaker and how good of a caretaker he has spread, which caused more and more to do background checks on him. This makes things more complicated, and now I have to bring Jin to meet someone important, then determine if he needs to be relocated to a new group that needs him more than the one he is in right now."

Remind me of those times when I had worked at some companies that would make me relocate to other workplaces for many stupid reasons. Most of them are due to being understaffed, but honestly, those jobs didn't last that long when most companies don't even bother to check the work conditions of those places. It's no wonder those places are understaffed.

"And who is this important person?" Nyarla's eyes glow even brighter as the surroundings become darker, to the point the lights are dim enough that it wouldn't make much of a different if they were on or not.

"It's your 'parent'!" Shu takes a few steps back; then she grabs her head in pain.

This happens with the other Eldritch girls as they are holding their heads in pain as well.

Makima and Shouko seem fine if one doesn't look at them carefully. Rather than being in pain, they are pale in fear, and their clothes are soaked in cold sweat.

Okay, crazy voices. This happened with Nyarla in the past when I still had the small purple book to obtain messages from the Boss before Ghost absorbed it. However, it doesn't change the fact that upon hearing the word: parent has somehow triggered the Eldritch girls to be in pain. Furthermore, this proves that the whole family terms usage differs in the Eldritch pantheon.

For fuck sake, Makima and Shouko are acting like they are being told the pantheons themselves are coming for a visit with bad intentions.

"Caretaker, please exit through the door and push Shu inside before closing the door." Ghost appeared and instructed me.

Yeah, chances are the Boss is now using Ghost to talk with me. So I better not risk it and do as I was told. So, exiting the door first, then push Shu inside while she is still holding her head in pain, then close the door afterward.

Great, I'm alone, not including Ghost, in this creepy hallway. It's still dirty and runs down as I last saw it when I wanted to check the outside, then ended up experiencing my first death too.

"Now, head downstairs and exit the building." Ghost gave the next instruction.

Simple enough. But first.

I send out numerous Divine Dogs and customized stealth-type shikigami along with expanding range of En, infusing it with Delayed Effect and Time Distortion and following up with multiple gaps formed around me as a means to defend against anything. Afterward, I order Ghost to make a new Save Point.

Now that the basic defenses are deployed. I can head to the exit.

So far, so good. No random giant Eldritch entity smashing me to death like an ant.

Upon exiting the building, I feel my head hurt for a split second upon seeing the outside for the first time while not being inside Nyarla's apartment.

It is similar to the world of Crawling Dreams, but much worse. For one thing, my brain can't comprehend the world itself other than it is bizarre and insane to look at.

A good example is the other 'buildings' around me: they are not buildings. They are massive building-like abnormal Eldritch entities. Some are made out of human flesh, another is made out of worms, and one not too far away from me is just numerous vortexes with human tongues coming out of them, which are packed together to shape a building.

I feel sick, but I soldier on and continue to follow Ghost's instructions until I reach an almost normal-looking building. And by normal, I mean it's fucking out of place from the rest of the other 'buildings' nearby. It is like one of those tall company buildings with many windows—around twenty stories.

Crazy voices, as much as I sound insane and stupid. This almost normal-looking building feels the most abnormal and makes me feel like I'm better off entering those other 'buildings' to test my luck.

Or am I just being paranoid? Never mind, there is no such thing as being paranoid when it's related to the Eldritch pantheon—especially in this world, a darker and more creepy version of Crawling Dreams. Well, either that or I'm in the more Eldritch part of Crawling Dreams than the areas mostly with humans.

I feel uncomfortable and creep out that the lobby area is neatly clean. Too clean.

It is like a nice-looking lobby area for a huge money-making company.

It is empty and void of people. Or even remotely, anyone ever steps in here, which isn't right. Because who else would clean the place? Everything is spotless.

There is no sound, nothing. I couldn't even hear my own footsteps, which is another factor of how creepy this is.

Slowly, I walk through an endless hallway with many doors leading to wherever. Also, I just realized something. I can't believe I didn't think about it until now.

What would the girls back in Nyarla's apartment go to do without me being there to take care of them?

"Caretaker, through this door." Ghost finally spoke up. Snapping me out of my thoughts.

I stare at the door on my right, just the same as the others next to it. Nothing makes it seems so different out of the other doors.

No matter, time to face this important person that Shu was talking about. Who knows, maybe I'll meet the Boss finally.

Crazy voices; I don't want to open the door now. Nor do I feel like meeting the important person behind this door, whether it's the Boss or someone else. My instinct is screaming at me that it's a matter of life and death if I walk through this door. However, Perfect Timing is screaming at me to hurry up before I end up dead.

Weird how my instinct is acting up now when I needed it for many events in the past as a caretaker. So time to follow Perfect Timing like always since my instinct doesn't help me that often.
