266 You Are Supposed to Be on My Side! 2

What was his problem? What was he facing that he couldn't share with her?

"Moyu?" Feng Tianyi's voice called her. "What are you looking at?"

From the looks of it, it seemed like he'd just stepped out of the shower because his hair was still wet, with a towel on top of his head, as he wheeled himself towards her at the porch where she was seated.

She hummed and returned her gaze to her younger brother who was now busy on his phone, his thumbs typing so fast as if he was in an argument with whoever he was talking to.

"Nothing. Just curious about what Beixuan is up to." She replied.

Feng Tianyi followed her gaze and saw Tang Beixuan from where they were seated and he couldn't help but smile. Even though the Tang siblings had a horrible set of parents, the trio had managed to overcome their differences and still look after each other. It was surprising that none of the three held grudges against each other, given how manipulative their 'mother' was.

He'd witnessed himself how Tang Wanyu was concerned about Moyu, even though she couldn't do anything in the past to help her. And now, seeing Tang Beixuan interacting with his woman, Feng Tianyi somewhat envied how close they were to each other.

There was no way in hell he and Feng Tianhua would be able to treat each other like that. Ever since Feng Tianyi found out about his father's deceit towards his mother, he had hated him and his other family.

He was fully aware that his parents didn't marry out of love, but for his father to cheat on his mother's while trying to gain advantage through her was what pissed the devil off the most.

For Feng Tianyi, his father should have divorced his mother instead of letting them live in lies. How hard was it for his mother to keep everything in balance, without knowing that her husband had already fathered a child with another woman?

"You are too strict with your brother." He commented, which earned a pointed glare from the empress. "He's already a grown up man. He can handle himself."

Tang Moyu considered his words for a moment and nodded. Still, the empress couldn't help but be worried about her siblings. She'd been worried when their 'mother' married off her Wan Jie years ago and had been nervous when Tang Beixuan had to leave for New Jersey to study and to live alone.

For years, she had tried to keep in touch with her siblings, but it was just impossible for her to reach Tang Wanyu no matter how hard she tried to contact her. Only recently did she find out that her attempts had been blocked by their 'mother' and Han Shaohui.

"I guess you are right." She conceded. There's no point worrying too much about Beixuan now that he was at the right age to make responsible decisions for his own life. She realized how fast time passed by on them and the fact that she hadn't even spent enough time with them.

"Indeed, I am right." Feng Tianyi took her hand and twined it with his. "Have a little faith in your brother. If ever he makes a mistake, let it be. He should be able to learn from it."

Perhaps he was right, Tang Moyu thought. It's true that in life, a person needed to make a mistake to learn something valuable from it. She could only look after him for support, if he needed it.

"I know you are worried but…." Feng Tianyi tucked some of her stray hair behind her ear lovingly, "Moyu, it's not easy to be a man. I know in your eyes, Beixuan would always be your little brother, but he needs to learn to face reality and become a man he could be proud of. Boys need—not want, to be responsible. If we aren't, we won't flourish."

Feng Tianyi understood why Tang Beixuan still didn't know what to do with his life after getting his degree and finishing his masters. It's understandable to see struggling and confused young men his age. Even he had once questioned himself what he wanted, albeit when he was a little younger than the current Tang Beixuan.

Zhang Wuying might have been the cause of this. She had literally tried her best to dictate the youngest Tang sibling's life when it became obvious that Tang Moyu's value was lost during her rift with Feng Tianhua and then her exile.

Right now, Tang Beixuan needed to take responsibility on his own life and set his standards high. He also needed to be strong and courageous if he truly wanted to protect his sisters, Feng Tianyi thought.

"If he's going to fail, let him fail. At least he knew he failed after giving it everything he got without giving up along the way. Only then would he learn. Mistakes and failures are part of our lives, Moyu." He smiled. "Don't you think because of it we were able to choose a better life and make decisions that lead us to each other?" He grinned.

Tang Moyu rolled her eyes as she allowed him to pull her into an embrace. He still managed to find a way to flirt even during such serious talk? He was really something, alright. Anyway, what he said made sense to her.

Her brother could still be considered a young adult, being in his mid twenties, and still had more to learn in his life. He can have whatever life he had chosen, so long as he had the courage to seize it himself.
