Fantasy Lord: Starting with Daily Information

Chapter 1: The Young Eagles of Dresrosa Castle

Chapter 1: The Young Eagles of Dresrosa Castle

The morning sunlight gently filtered down.

On the training ground, young men clad in knightly armor and bucket helmets were shouting commands. Each of their faces showed extreme determination, with sweat pouring down continuously. Yet, no one slacked off, for they were the young eagles of Count Dresrosa and needed to prove their worth before reaching adulthood.

Failing to do so might mean they wouldn't even attain the lowest rank of knighthood.

Without the status of a knight, they would be treated like common freemen, unprotected by the kingdom's laws and favor, and the blessings of the Goddess of Life would no longer shine upon them.

This was an unacceptable fate for anyone.

However, despite this pressure, some would inevitably fail to become knights.

After all, condensing a Life Seed and becoming a qualified apprentice knight before the age of eighteen was no easier than getting into Tsinghua or Peking University in the previous life.

At least Jiang Chen—no, he should now be called Thor Dresrosa—felt he had little hope.

As a transmigrator, Thor never imagined that upon waking up, he would find himself in a Western fantasy world as the son of the Count of Dresrosa Castle.

At first, he was undoubtedly delighted.

Though his awakening was not to the gentle call of a maid but to the rather unsettling presence of a male servant, the luxurious three-meter-wide bed, exquisite food, and fine clothing made him feel this transmigration was not in vain.

The luxurious feudal lifestyle was, indeed, quite delightful.

However, his excitement didn't last long.

Thor soon discovered that his good days might not last.

The Dresrosa family had a long-standing rule: if a child did not condense a Life Seed and become an apprentice knight by the age of eighteen, they would lose the family's protection, be stripped of their knightly status, and be expelled from the family. Only by becoming an apprentice knight could they continue to enjoy the family's privileges.

Knights represented the extraordinary power of this world.

Noble offspring could consume life potions and, with extensive training, condense their own Life Seed, thereby gaining superhuman abilities.

"Stop!"

"Rest!"

While Thor's thoughts were swirling, the firm voice of Knight Commander Michael echoed.

"Clang!"

"Thud!"

The young eagles of Dresrosa Castle collapsed to the ground, struggling to remove their helmets. Thor was no exception.

He gasped for air, feeling as if his lungs might burst.

Everyone else was in a similar state, trying to calm the sensation of their chests ready to explode from the intense training.

Some sat cross-legged, trying to make the most of every moment to see if they could condense their Life Seed.

Thor glanced at his brothers, calmed himself, and then sat down, concentrating on sensing the source of life within him.

Time passed minute by minute.

In a little over half an hour, Thor exhaled a deep breath and opened his eyes, a hint of helplessness in his expression.

As before, he hadn't managed to condense a Life Seed, though he felt more of the life force within him, it was still not enough.

At this rate, it would take him at least another year to condense a Life Seed.

But clearly, time would not give him another year.

In three days, he would come of age. If he couldn't condense a Life Seed by then, he would become a wandering knight, losing the Dresrosa name unless he could earn a noble title from the kingdom, which was almost impossible without the status of a knight.

Knights were true nobility.

"Dammit, why didn't I get a cheat ability when I transmigrated?" Thor muttered to himself, his tone full of frustration.

He was also feeling quite down.

The prospect of becoming a wandering knight just as his good days were starting wasn't pleasant.

Sighing, he was about to get up.

The sticky feeling all over his body was uncomfortable, and he needed a good wash.

But just as he was about to stand, a mechanical voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"World matching in progress!"

"Matching successful!"

"Character matching in progress!"

"Matching successful!"

"Congratulations! You have acquired the Daily Information System!"

"Would you like to activate it?"

The mechanical voice was unexpected, and as streams of information flooded into his mind, Thor, who had been sighing, suddenly widened his eyes, a look of surprise spreading across his face.

A cheat ability!

He hadn't expected it, but he had actually gotten a cheat ability.

"Activate!" he almost shouted, unable to contain his excitement.

As soon as he spoke, a ripple spread out.

Lines of text appeared.

6. Engel Dresrosa seems troubled by his own limitations in strength.

7. ...

10. ...

Golden characters flashed, followed by lines of text.

Seeing the information and the details in his mind, Thor couldn't suppress his joy any longer.

Not just because of the cheat ability's arrival, but because of its nature.

The Daily Information System, as the name suggests, provided him with daily relevant information.

After midnight each day, the system could refresh the day's information, offering him up to ten pieces of information related to his surroundings.

Such an ability was practically overpowered.

Information was always the most valuable asset, in any world, for anyone.

Like now, the information revealed something directly related to his current predicament and even a potential solution.

His eyes locked onto the fourth entry, and Thor couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.
