Fantasy Lord: Starting with Daily Information

Chapter 2: The Role of Daily Information and Acquiring the Life Fruit

Chapter 2: The Role of Daily Information and Acquiring the Life Fruit

For Thor, the most crucial task now was to condense his Life Seed and become an apprentice knight. Originally, this seemed nearly impossible; at his current pace, it would take at least a year. But in three days, he would come of age, and if he hadn't become an apprentice knight by then, he would be exiled.

Three days were simply not enough.

Unless he could obtain a high-grade life elixir rich in life energy, there was little hope. However, obtaining such a high-grade elixir was nearly impossible, even for his father, Engel Dresrosa. Otherwise, his father wouldn't have been stuck at the peak of the Earth Knight level.

Thor had even less chance.

But now, he had a possibility.

The Life Fruit was a product of high-level magical plants and the main ingredient in high-grade life elixirs. Even consuming it alone was equivalent to half the effect of a high-grade life elixir, which was more than enough to help him condense his Life Seed.

Just like in the information report, where a person named Ryan had condensed his Life Seed after consuming it.

With this in mind, Thor could hardly contain his excitement.

He quickly got up and headed back to his room.

"Young Master Thor!"

"Young Master Thor!"

Servants greeted him respectfully along the way.

Among the chorus of greetings, he returned to his room.

With the servants' assistance, he quickly took off his armor, washed up, and changed into noble attire.

Then, without delay, he left Dresrosa Castle.

Three knights followed him.

Though they were just squire knights, these three days were the last time he would be able to enjoy such service. Once three days passed and he hadn't condensed his Life Seed, he would lose not only these knights but also the privileges of being served, at best receiving some money but not much.

However, Thor had no time to dwell on this.

He rode his white horse quickly toward his destination.

Engel Dresrosa, as a count, ruled not only Dresrosa Castle but also ten surrounding towns, roughly the size of a small county in his previous life. Lucerne Town was one of these ten towns, located about thirty to forty kilometers away from Dresrosa Castle.

Riding a horse, it took about an hour to reach Lucerne Town.

When Thor arrived, the town's steward was startled and hurriedly came out to greet him.

"Young Master Thor!"

The steward spoke nervously.

"I'm just here to have a look around; you can go about your business."

Thor waved his hand, dismissing the steward.

"Yes, yes!"

The steward nodded quickly and retreated.

Thor dismounted and began searching.

Initially, he worried about how to find the Miguel Fruit Shop, considering the town wasn't too big but not small either. It wouldn't be easy to find a specific shop.

But this concern quickly vanished.

Upon exploring, he discovered that there was only one fruit shop in the entire town.

Clearly, this was the place.

Thor walked into the fruit shop.

His entrance made the shopkeeper, Miguel, tense up immediately.

"Sir, what can I get for you?"

Miguel asked nervously.

Thor didn't answer, instead carefully sensing his surroundings.

Seeing Thor's silence, Miguel didn't dare disturb him and just followed closely behind.

The Life Fruit's aura was very subtle, but as someone who had learned the knight's breathing technique, Thor could feel the faint unusualness if he concentrated.

Soon, Thor sensed a difference among a pile of pear-like fruits.

Excited, he walked over.

He quickly reached the pile of fruit.

"Pack these for me; I'll take them all!"

Thor instructed Miguel.

"Yes, sir!"

Miguel responded, though somewhat bitterly, and began packing.

"Give him a silver coin!"

Thor took the package and signaled to one of the knights behind him.

"Yes, young master!"

The knight hesitated briefly but then nodded, handing over a silver coin.

"Sir, this...!"

Miguel hesitated as he reached for the coin, unsure if he should accept it.

"Take it! The Dresrosa family doesn't rob from commoners."

Thor suppressed his excitement and spoke calmly before leaving with the three knights.

"Thank you, sir!"

Miguel hurriedly expressed his gratitude, but Thor had already disappeared.

Returning to Dresrosa Castle, Thor rushed back to his room.

After dismissing all the servants, he focused on the Life Fruit.

The other sour fruits were casually tossed aside.

Staring at the ordinary-looking fruit, Thor felt a surge of emotion, a mix of excitement and anticipation.

The Life Fruit.

It was the Life Fruit.

Even his father, Engel Dresrosa, would be tempted by this.

With this fruit, he could almost certainly exchange it for a high-grade life elixir. Such a treasure would make even Earth Knights covetous, let alone anyone else.

In the outside world, it would spark deadly battles among Earth Knights.

If he handed it over to his father, there was no doubt his father would keep him at Dresrosa Castle, even if only as a parasite.

Rules become flexible when the stakes are high enough, or so Thor believed.
