Fantasy Lord: Starting with Daily Information

Chapter 6: The Future Sky Knight

Chapter 6: The Future Sky Knight

On this continent, extraordinary power is embodied by knights, who are categorized into strict ranks. These ranks include Apprentice Knight, Knight, Grand Knight, Earth Knight, Sky Knight, and Sanctuary Knight.

Reaching the level of Earth Knight signifies the pinnacle of combat strength within the kingdom. For example, his father, Engel Dresrosa, is an Earth Peak Knight.

Sky Knights, on the other hand, are the kingdom's supreme forces. Each Sky Knight represents the kingdom's true core and the foundation for its survival. Thor could never have imagined that today’s Daily Information would include a Sky Knight, especially one who might have been destined to gain the Life Fruit.

It seems that due to Thor intercepting the Life Fruit meant for someone else, that person's fate has now deviated from its original path.

"Maybe I should go and give it a try!" Thor muttered to himself, his eyes brimming with excitement. He even had an impulse to leave immediately.

However, after some consideration, he decided to suppress the urge and called for his servant to assist with his morning routine.

As night turned to dawn, Thor awoke from his large bed. Today, unlike usual, he did not train. As an Apprentice Knight, there was no further need for training.

He glanced at the Daily Information and then, with three of his knights, set off once again.

Their destination was the town of Lucerne.

An hour later, Thor arrived in Lucerne. Facing the return of young Master Thor, the town’s clerk felt a sense of unease but welcomed him nonetheless.

“Clerk, I need to find a boy named Ryan. His father is named Hunter!” Thor spoke calmly from his horse.

“Yes, young Master Thor, I will find him immediately!” The clerk, although puzzled, quickly nodded and left.

About half an hour later, the clerk returned with a document.

“Master Thor, Hunter lives in the village of Falling Leaves on the west side of the town. Please follow me!”

“Alright!” Thor nodded and set off with the clerk towards their destination.

Meanwhile, in Falling Leaves Village, in a rundown house:

“Bang!”

“You’re useless! Even failing to get any alcohol!”

An angry voice echoed as something heavy was thrown. Inside the room, a middle-aged man with a disheveled appearance was berating a cowering boy huddled in the corner, who remained silent.

“Speak! Why are you silent?” The man’s rage continued as he hurled a bottle at the boy.

“Bang!”

“Crash!”

The bottle shattered against the boy’s head, causing a groan of pain and blood to flow. Despite this, the man paid no attention.

“Useless, all useless. Ryan, without me, you’d be dead from hunger!”

“Go! Get me some alcohol!”

The man’s voice grew more furious as the boy, still huddled, was unresponsive. The man’s anger escalated.

“Don’t want to go? If you don’t, I’ll sell you off. They say the noble lords like such things!”

“Move!”

Just as the man was about to throw another bottle, a flash of white light appeared, and the bottle shattered in mid-air.

A cold voice then rang out, “Stop!”

The middle-aged man froze, then grew even angrier. “What? You’ve brought outsiders into my home? Ryan, it seems you really don’t care about me!”

The man was about to reach for the bottle again when a colder voice commanded, “I said stop. Didn’t you hear?”

The room was suddenly filled with several figures. The man, now sobered from his drunken state, fell to the floor with a crash.

“Master!” The middle-aged man trembled and prostrated himself, his heart sinking into deep fear.

Thor, however, ignored him and approached the corner where the boy was.

“Are you alright?” Thor asked gently.

The boy looked up in shock but quickly tried to kneel. However, weakness from hunger and the recent beating caused him to fall.

Thor quickly caught the boy and checked him over. With his Life Source Energy flowing, Thor sighed in relief— the boy was not in mortal danger, just unconscious.

Thor handed the boy to one of his knights. After a brief thought, he spoke to another knight, “Give him a gold coin. From now on, Ryan has nothing to do with him.”

“Yes!” The knight nodded and tossed a gold coin on the ground.

“Master, Ryan’s fortune is to follow you!” The middle-aged man, seeing the gold coin, scrambled to grab it, showering Thor with gratitude.

Thor paid him no mind. The gold coin was given out of respect for the boy, nothing more.

Thor and his knights swiftly left with the boy. Meanwhile, the middle-aged man continued to marvel at the gold coin, even biting it to check its authenticity. He was completely unaware of the value he was losing—a Sky Knight, a person who stood at the peak of the kingdom.

Of course, he could never imagine that his seemingly worthless son would one day become a Sky Knight.

To him, exchanging a troublesome existence for a gold coin was already a great deal. He had initially hoped to trade the boy for some alcohol money, and a gold coin was beyond his wildest dreams.
