Chapter 9: Count Engel’s First Lesson

Chapter 9: Count Engel's First Lesson

“Father!”

Thor instinctively spoke, looking at his father, Count Engel Dresrosa, with a mixture of hesitation and shock.

“Thor, you must understand that although Ryan has become your guardian knight, being a guardian knight only means he will not betray you; it does not imply other qualities. As a capable lord, you need to show your grace, your tolerance, and your authority!”

Count Engel Dresrosa's words resonated with a profound meaning.

Thor was momentarily taken aback, then his expression grew solemn. It was clear that his father, Count Engel Dresrosa, was imparting a lesson to him.

Thor had no resistance to this. As a count, Engel Dresrosa's wisdom and experience far surpassed his own, even though he was a transmigrator.

Seeing Thor’s expression, Count Engel Dresrosa showed a satisfied smile. After a brief pause, he continued.

“Thor, the path of becoming a Pioneering knight is not easy!”

“To truly become a competent Pioneering knight, you first need to learn how to win people’s hearts.”

“Now, you are the young master of Dresrosa Castle, sheltered by the prestige of the Dresrosa family. But once you become a Pioneering knight, that prestige will no longer be with you. You will need to rely on your own wisdom to build your own territory and lead your own people.”

“Ryan is exceptional. His talent is the strongest I have seen so far. If you can truly win him over, he will become your greatest asset. I originally had little hope for you, given your own talent, but my child, you seem to have given me quite a surprise.”

Count Engel Dresrosa’s words began solemnly but ended with a smile.

Thor was taken aback by his father’s words and instinctively opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted by Count Engel Dresrosa.

“Everyone has their secrets. I don’t need to probe into yours; after all, you are my child!”

“Now and in the future, work hard. I hope my child will become the eagle of the Dresrosa family.”

With a light laugh, Count Engel Dresrosa did not dwell on his son’s issues but signaled for him to leave.

“Yes, Father. I will not let you down!”

Thor nodded seriously, then allowed the servants to assist him with donning the silver armor and carrying the Life Elixirs.

As Thor left, Count Engel Dresrosa’s eyes sparkled with a smile.

“It seems I was wrong in my initial judgment!”

“What a pleasant surprise!”

“Charlie!”

He murmured, then called out again.

“Yes, sir!”

Butler Charlie entered, his voice respectful.

“Bring me the second box from the first storage room!”

Count Engel Dresrosa returned to his thoughts with a smile.

“Yes, sir!”

Charlie nodded and quickly left.

“Thor, I hope you won’t disappoint me!”

Count Engel Dresrosa’s voice was soft as he turned his attention back to his book.

Thor, unaware of his father's plan to increase his investment due to Ryan’s appearance, would have been thrilled if he knew. For now, he was already quite pleased.

With his servants, Thor arrived at the training grounds.

Ryan was still training. Compared to half a month ago, Ryan's body had visibly strengthened and was no longer as emaciated as before. His overall vitality had improved significantly.

Thor was very satisfied with this progress.

After a brief wait, Ryan paused to catch his breath, quickly jogging over without bothering to wipe the sweat from his brow.

“Young Master Thor!”

Ryan greeted Thor respectfully, performing a knight’s salute.

“Good job!”

“It seems you’ve been working hard these days!”

“This is a reward for you!”

Thor smiled and waved his hand.

Two servants swiftly came forward, placing a large and a small box in front of Ryan.

“Young Master Thor!”

“This!”

Ryan instinctively wanted to refuse but was stopped by Thor.

“You are my guardian knight; you cannot remain so impoverished. Take a look!”

Thor stopped Ryan, smiling.

“Thank you, Young Master!”

Ryan, though still a bit hesitant and anxious, accepted the words and carefully opened the first large box.

As the box opened, a gleam of silver appeared, immediately captivating his eyes.

“This is a set of silver armor. Even when you become a Grand Knight, you can still use it!”

Thor smiled again.

“Thank you, Young Master!”

Ryan quickly expressed his gratitude, his hands trembling slightly.

At this moment, Ryan was not naive. Having trained with Michael, he knew the value of silver armor. Receiving such a gift left him deeply moved and grateful.

“Now, check the other one. It’s even more suited for you right now!”

Thor waved his hand, indicating the smaller box.

“Yes!”

Hearing Thor’s words, Ryan, though nervous, carefully opened the smaller wooden box.

Inside was a small glass vial filled with green liquid. Seeing the green liquid, Ryan was initially puzzled, but then his breath grew heavier, and disbelief appeared on his face.

The green liquid was even more valuable than the silver armor. It immediately reminded him of a particular item, though he found it hard to believe.

This item was so precious that it was beyond his imagination.

While he had hoped for silver armor when he began his training, this item was something he had never even dreamed of.

“This… this is a Life Elixir!”

Ryan’s voice trembled as he looked at Thor, his breathing quickening.

“Yes, it’s a mid-grade Life Elixir, worth about ten times more than a low-grade Life Elixir. With this, you will be guaranteed to reach the Apprentice Knight level!”

Thor spoke with a sense of wonder. Honestly, if not for the daily information system, he might have considered keeping the Life Elixir for himself.

The Dresrosa family’s direct descendants received a bottle of Life Elixir every year, but it was a low-grade one, not nearly as valuable as this mid-grade elixir. With this, Ryan could be confident in advancing to the mid-level of Apprentice Knight.
