Fantasy Lord: Starting with Daily Information

Chapter 8: Ryan’s Terrifying Talent

Chapter 8: Ryan's Terrifying Talent

Having handed Ryan over to Michael, Thor did not give it another thought. He had complete trust in Michael, his father's right-hand man. As an Earth Knight, Michael was the top fighter in the Dresrosa Castle, second only to Thor's father.

More importantly, Michael was highly skilled in teaching. Thor's older brothers, after being tutored by Michael, included a pinnacle Grand Knight among them. Under Michael's guidance, the number of knights in the entire order had grown significantly.

Entrusting Ryan to Michael for training was bound to lay a solid foundation for him.

However, even Thor did not anticipate the extent of Ryan's talent—it was even more terrifying than he imagined.

In less than half a month, while Thor was busy preparing for knightly expansions and gathering useful information, Michael summoned him.

“What?”

“Ryan is about to break through to an Apprentice Knight?” Thor was astonished by Michael’s words, unable to contain his surprise.

“Yes!”

“Young Master Thor, I can hardly believe it myself, but it’s the truth. Ryan’s Life Source Energy is now abundant enough. He should break through to an Apprentice Knight within three days at the latest. I plan to request a bottle of low-grade Life Elixir from the Count.”

Michael was equally stunned. Even though he had witnessed Ryan’s talent firsthand, he was still deeply shocked by this development. Even as an Earth Knight, he found it hard to fathom Ryan's progress.

He was certain that Ryan had never practiced the knightly techniques before. Yet, in just half a month, Ryan was about to reach the Apprentice Knight level. This kind of talent was almost beyond belief.

For reference, Michael himself, a powerful figure of the kingdom, had taken three years to cultivate the Life Seed. Even the Count had taken an entire year to achieve the same feat. To condense the Life Seed in just half a month was unimaginable.

“Thank you, Michael!”

“I understand. Please keep this matter confidential, only informing Father. Don’t tell anyone else!”

Thor took a deep breath, expressing his gratitude. He asked Michael to keep Ryan’s progress a secret to avoid any unforeseen complications.

“Understood!”

Michael pondered briefly, then nodded in agreement.

“Thank you, Michael!”

Thor nodded appreciatively.

“No need to thank me!”

Michael gave Thor a lingering look, his mind stirred. He knew Ryan was brought out of poverty by Young Master Thor. However, as the most loyal knight of the Dresrosa family, he knew better than to pry into certain matters.

After a few more words, Michael departed towards the castle to request the low-grade Life Elixir without delay. Thor did not follow but instead went to check on Ryan and resumed his own tasks.

Meanwhile, in the study.

Michael had arrived at Count Engel Dresrosa’s study and reported the situation.

“What?”

“You say that Thor’s guardian knight is about to break through to an Apprentice Knight?” Count Engel Dresrosa was taken aback by Michael’s report.

The Count was aware of his son’s guardian knight and had even investigated him, but he had not paid much attention. A mere guardian knight, and a commoner’s son at that—how useful could he be?

To his surprise, Michael brought such news in just half a month.

The Count knew that Ryan had no prior experience with knightly training. Yet, in merely half a month, he was on the verge of breaking through to an Apprentice Knight.

After the initial shock, Count Engel Dresrosa found himself catching his breath.

“Yes, I have confirmed it!”

“His Life Source Energy is now at a level with about a 70-80% chance of breakthrough!” Michael confirmed again.

Upon hearing Michael’s words, Count Engel Dresrosa began to pace back and forth, his eyes flashing with intrigue. Michael remained quiet, waiting patiently.

After a moment, the Count stopped abruptly.

“Charlie!”

The butler, Charlie, entered the room swiftly.

“Fetch a bottle of low-grade Life Elixir from the first cabinet, the seventh from the first row. No, wait, the third from the first row, and the fifth from the second cabinet!”

“Yes!”

Charlie, though surprised, quickly acknowledged the request.

“Michael, I understand the situation now. I will have Thor deliver the low-grade Life Elixirs. You may return.”

After issuing the instructions, Count Engel Dresrosa addressed Michael.

“Yes, sir!”

Michael nodded and left, not overly surprised by the Count’s decision.

After Michael’s departure, Count Engel Dresrosa summoned Thor.

Thor, who had been busy, rushed to the study upon receiving his father's call.

When Thor arrived, Charlie had already returned with the items.

“Father!”

Thor addressed the Count respectfully.

The Count did not immediately respond but scrutinized his son intently. Thor, hesitant, kept his head lowered.

Eventually, Count Engel Dresrosa spoke.

“Thor, you’ve done well!”

“Here is a set of silver armor and a bottle of mid-grade Life Elixir. You can give them to your guardian knight.”

Thor was taken aback. Silver armor and a mid-grade Life Elixir were incredibly valuable. The silver armor alone was worth over a hundred gold coins, and the mid-grade Life Elixir, which could aid even a Grand Knight’s breakthrough to Earth Knight, was worth at least a thousand gold coins and was often unavailable.

Thor never expected his father to be so generous.
