Some time passed by and Shisui followed Gilgamesh's instructions without fail and marvelled at Gilgamesh's predictions of the future that came to pass, Shisui would assume that Gilgamesh was a priest of some kind that could divine the future and began to take his words as truth.

 

After Shisui's defeat, Shisui began to train without overreliance on his sharingan daily and improve his body flicker jutsu and began to increase its range little by little. Taking a page from his observations on Gilgamesh, he would begin to mask his chakra signature, he hasn't completely mastered it as some Anbu ninjas would be able to sense him before he meets with The Third for weekly reports on the Uchiha.

 

One fateful evening, Shisui called Itachi to a secret meeting place, a place where Gilgamesh said he had to die and do it in front of Itachi. Shisui wondered what his plans were for the young teenage Uchiha as he saw Itachi as a close friend and most importantly someone who could carry on his mission if he failed.

 

But tonight wasn't the time he was supposed to die in front of Itachi, this evening he discussed with Itachi the ongoings of their clan and how to handle the situation.

 

"The plan to vote on the coup is going to happen tomorrow morning. And from what I see, the census states that it will be in favour of the coup." Itachi said as he appeared to be gazing into the future with cautious eyes.

 

This only led Shisui to sigh to himself since he had suggested using his kotoamatsukami, which was approved by The Third but also shunned by Danzo. Danzo made the same point as Gilgamesh made, it would only create a cycle of endless hate that would implode on itself, eventually tainting and destroying the clan and the village by extension.

 

Gilgamesh had been right the entire time, his suggestion would only give a temporary solution that wouldn't last that long.

 

Turning his gaze from the waterfall in front of them, Shisui was about to speak when a little dark-haired boy came running to meet the both of them.

 

"What are you guys talking about?" The boy asked.

 

"We were just talking about which of us is stronger, me or your brother?" Shisui said as he crouched down to rub Sasuke's hair.

 

"I mean I know I am a lot stronger than he is but he won't accept the truth, well tell me, what do you think? You know the truth Sasuke, you know I am a lot stronger than your brother right?" Shisui teased with a smile.

 

 

 

"No, you are not!" Sasuke answered as the cheeks on his face appeared fluffy.

 

"Oh?" Shisui questioned.

 

"My brother is still way stronger than you!" Sasuke said confidently to his face.

 

"Oh, but I am way older than he is and have more experience…" Shisui began to explain.

 

"Age has nothing to do with strength!" Sasuke said firmly.

 

'If I didn't know Gilgamesh before now, I'd only half agree with this statement.' Shisui thought to himself and shook his head after trying to repress some unpleasant memories.

 

'And to think he is age mates with Sasuke even though Sasuke might be months older.' Shisui thought but was interrupted by Sasuke.

 

"What's wrong? You can't accept that fact?" Sasuke asked.

 

"No, far from it really." Shisui smiled sheepishly.

 

'Speaking of which, this reminds me of that blonde boy.' Itachi thought to himself.

 

"Anyway, you do know I have the sharingan right?" Shisui smiled while pointing to his closed eyes.

 

"My brother has the sharingan as well." Sasuke said with a pout.

 

"My brother wouldn't lose to you… isn't that right, big brother?" Sasuke asked as he looked back at his brother clad in his Anbu outfit.

 

Itachi responded with a stoic gaze and looked at Shisui who only laughed.

 

"Shisui… you…" Itachi said as Sasuke moved towards him.

 

"Right, big brother?" You are stronger than Shisui right? Sasuke asked pleadingly.

 

"Well… That's…" Itachi said calmly as the beautiful sunset illuminated the area.

 

'It's great to be a family…' Shisui thought to himself as he soaked in the scene before him.

 

'Sometimes, I wish I had never met that… person. It is nice to be ignorant sometimes and not know what's going to happen. If what he said comes to pass then…' Shisui thought as he turned away and clenched his fists.

 

'Anyway, I can't help but feel like this anytime I see those two together.' Shisui was in deep thought as he looked at the brothers talking to each other, their voices fading out and the sight before him being immortalized in his memory.

 

"We are gonna head back now it's almost time for dinner." Itachi said as he took Sasuke with him.

 

After they left, Shisui remembered he had a private meeting with Danzo and the plan concerning Danzo and made his way to him.

 

Upon meeting with Danzo, Shisui tried to hide his nervousness since his new master had already planned out everything, but once Shisui saw two moons in the sky that hid amongst the clouds in the evening, Shisui calmed himself.

 

"It's sad that even an Uchiha like you can't even use the sharingan. I think your eyes will do well with me!" Danzo said and ripped out one of Shisui's eyes.

 

For a moment Shisui couldn't move but managed to move and began fleeing.

 

"Kill him!" Danzo ordered his foundation Anbu ninjas who were cloaked to go after him.

 

"So everything he said so far was true! I wasn't able to move because I was poisoned! But why did he let me get poisoned if he had already deployed his barrier jutsu before time?" Shisui said as he cut himself a bit and masked his right eye with blood so it would appear as if he was bleeding from it.

 

He knew Gilgamesh had applied his barrier jutsu since he looked up in the sky and saw two moons which was a signal to carry on with the mission. This meant that his barrier genjutsu was active and everyone in the area was already caught in it.

 

Five cloaked ninjas chased Shisui and found him struggling with the poison as expected.

 

Shisui saw that the poison even affected his movement and wanted to use his Susano'o to level a part of the forest as well as divide the bodies of those that chased him but remembered Gilgamesh's remark on overreliance on his sharingan.

 

Cursing to himself and coughing out blood, Shisui's body flickered to the backs of the chasing ninjas and began to cut them with his blades but flames also came out of them, effectively slicing and burning three out of five cloaked ninjas.

 

He shouldn't be able to move like that! One of the cloaked ninjas exclaimed.

 

"I know! I poisoned him after all. He would die soon, he just acted like a cornered animal that's all." Another cloaked figure said.

 

Shisui, already out of breath and losing focus said out loud, "Damn it! Am I still this weak?"

 

Hold on something doesn't feel right. One of the chasing cloaked figures said but his mates dismissed it since they were hunting a dead man.

 

"Huh? Is he losing it already…" One of the cloaked ninjas said but was surprised as to why he was floating but he saw his legs still standing on the ground.

 

But what he saw next widened his eyes and made him realize what had happened before his vision went dark. He saw a green lance that made a clean cut across his body and his partner's body.
