Gilgamesh Reborn in Naruto

CHAPTER SIX: BASICS.

Kakashi looked at the little blonde lazily; he wanted to explain to him about waiting for his body and chakra to develop before starting but got tired of the thought since the person asking him was a kid, and kids won’t stop asking for what they want, especially if it’s something cool that they can learn. Kakashi sighed and beckoned Gilgamesh to follow him.

“If you tell me once that you are tired before we reach where we are supposed to train, don’t ask me again.” Kakashi halted the boy who followed behind him. In truth, Jiraiya had just released his latest issue on the Icha Icha tactics, and Kakashi wanted to read in peace. He could just give Gilgamesh some language books to study while he took his day off reading his favourite book in peace, but apparently, Gilgamesh had other plans.

Gilgamesh tilted his head to the side as if to say he could at least follow him without asking for bathroom breaks or ice cream. Kakashi felt that he could trust the kid and let the boy pass by him as he locked the apartment door and headed out. Gilgamesh expected Kakashi to start running, but he just walked.

"Maybe he wants to pick up something," Gilgamesh thought, but the duo continued to walk for several blocks. Gilgamesh only sighed inwardly and began to review what happened last night.

After Gilgamesh went back home last night, he gained knowledge of magical energy and its foundational theories. He closed his eyes and spread his mana from his body and was able to sense people outside and a cat that looked at his window from a tree. But what surprised him was that he could not only sense them but could make them out as if he were seeing three hundred and sixty degrees with colour. He noticed two masked ninjas on top of his roof. They were using a cloaking jutsu, but he could see them clearly as if they were just hanging out on his roof. He also noticed two other masked ninjas in a tree not too far away from his apartment; they seemed to be watching his apartment closely.

Gilgamesh was about to panic because people he didn’t know were watching him in the night where he sleeps alone sometimes if Kakashi doesn’t come back early from his missions. As a kid, he couldn’t help but feel concerned about that. But more memories about himself started to flow into him. He remembered faint images of a golden cup filled his mind. He saw wars being fought on a sandy battlefield; he remembered seeing weapons in a vast treasury that looked like it had no end. Calm began to fill his mind and thoughts as he gained little insights about himself.

“It would seem that I have been reborn,” Gilgamesh muttered to himself as he opened his eyes, and his iris revealed a faint red glow. ‘King of Heroes. What does that mean?’ Gilgamesh questioned himself in thought while he sat up on his bed. “From what I have sensed with my mana recently, it appears that this village has sent secret agents to keep watch over me. Interesting, my memories are still foggy, but somehow I just know that I am capable of much more,” Gilgamesh said to himself as another migraine washed over him. He decided to sleep on it and try to uncover more about himself.

“Ho, I thought you would be begging me by now for ice cream. We are almost there,” Kakashi said as he turned to look at Gil; they were slowly approaching a large forest. He is the only one so far that doesn’t call me Gil or little Gil. I will remember him for this. Gilgamesh thought to himself as he looked away from Kakashi in annoyance.

“Alright, we are here,” Kakashi said; the duo came to a halt and were surrounded by trees that were tens of meters tall.

“Now, the basics first. Chakra exists in nature and also in humans as well.” Kakashi looked at the kid who looked at him standing, trying to grasp what he was saying. Kakashi sighed and tried to explain in a way a kid his age would understand; it’s like a ball of energy in us that we can use for various things and not just running on walls. They are our physical energy that can be increased through training. If one has a small pool of chakra, there are techniques and training methods to increase it. Even just training repeatedly increases one's output.

“Oh, so is that ball of flame that is there?” Gilgamesh asked as he pointed to Kakashi’s abdomen. 'Ball of flame? Does he mean my chakra pool? Hold on, he just pointed at it; does this mean he can…' Kakashi stopped his thoughts to scan the environment to make sure no one other than the two of them was present. His Sharingan is always activated and draining his chakra continuously so he can spot anyone using a cloaking technique even though his Sharingan eye was covered with his headband leaving his normal eye open.

Kakashi walked slowly on purpose to let any Anbu ninja that was secretly watching Gilgamesh know that he was taking him out and wanted to be left alone, but he had to make sure after Gilgamesh made this revelation.

“You said you can see it?” Kakashi asked.

“Yes, it goes up and down now and then, but it looks wide and plenty,” Gilgamesh remarked. He could control the way he perceives things in nature, and almost nothing is hidden from his eyes ever since he learned how to do that but decided to use them again to inspect Kakashi.

“Then that speeds things up. Your eyes don’t look like the Sharingan, but that’s another story. Now, watch me.” Kakashi looked at Gilgamesh's eyes but didn’t find any resemblance to the Sharingan and put that matter aside for now.

“There is a small pool of water over there. Let’s go,” Kakashi ordered and stored his kunai back in his. Gilgamesh tilted his head to understand if one needed to keep throwing a knife just to attach oneself to a place or something. His answers came when a leaf slowly fell into Kakashi's waiting palm.

“But first, start with this.”
