Hey, Why Are My Skills so Weird!?

Chapter 119 – First Day of Class (2)

“My name is Javier Arango, an A-Rank Awakened. And I will be your teacher for this subject.” The tall man introduced himself curtly. He then observed every one of the students in the classroom carefully, as though he was studying them.

I felt the hair on my arms standing up when his gaze fell on me. It was as though I was being stared at by a killing machine. Even though he was not showing any killing intent, my instincts were warning me that this man was dangerous.

I was not the only one that reacted like that. As soon as the teacher entered the classroom, all the students fell completely silent. The pressure coming from him was stronger than any Awakened I have met before.

Finally, after almost one minute, the teacher moved his gaze away.

“I’m not only your teacher for this subject but also the teacher in charge of Class 1. For the next three years, you will be under my supervision, or so I hope, although it’s likely that I will be disappointed.”

The expressions of several students changed. The words of the professor meant that not all of us would graduate as members of class one, either because we were replaced by more outstanding students, or because we did not live to see the day.

I involuntarily put on a solemn expression. That won’t happen to me.

“Okay, today is the first day, so why don’t you introduce yourselves first? Let’s go according to the ranking in the entrance examination. Number one, please stand up.”

Sylvia nodded and stood up calmly.

The gazes of the entire classroom fell on her, filled with awe, admiration, competitiveness, and even infatuation.

But she ignored them and started her introduction with an indifferent expression.

“My name is Sylvia Quin, sixteen years old. I’m a Tier Five Awakened and specialize in using threads. Nice to meet you.”

She then sat down, not without winking sneakily at me before.

A small commotion appeared in the classroom. The fact that she was already a Tier Five practitioner at such a young age filled the rest of the classroom with surprise.

Moreover, words about her feats during the entrance examination had spread. Everybody knew that she had broken the previous record for a large margin.

She was undoubtedly the strongest among the freshmen this time.

But unlike the students, the teacher did not seem to think much of that. He just stared at the next student, Andrew.

“I’m Andrew Mattew. Sixteen years old and a Peak Tier Four Awakened. I use a sword mainly. Please take care of me from here onwards.”

Next, the number three in the rankings stood up.

“Theodore Riedel. Sixteen years old, and a peak tier four Awakened.” He finished after that simple introduction and sat down.

The teacher did not seem to mind, though, and instead looked at the next student.

The fourth place was a girl called Tierra Lorenz. She was a serious-looking girl with black hair tied in a ponytail. Just like Theodore and Andrew, she was a peak tier four awakened.

The fifth person to speak was my little sister, Ley. Everybody was surprised to learn that she was just a Tier Three Awakened, but when Ley said that she had skipped a grade to enter the university early, the gazes turned into admiration.

Anyway, Ley was lively and cute, so even though her mana tier was weaker than expected, she left a good impression.

After Ley finished introducing herself, the teacher looked at me.

I stood up calmly and spoke.

“Jane Walker. Peak Tier Three Awakened. I mainly use a spear. Nice to meet you.”

I felt several gazes on me as soon as I finished my introduction, most of them were filled with doubt.

After all, just like Ley, I was a Tier Three Awakened, but I had not skipped a grade and entered college at the normal age.

It was surprising that someone with just tier three mana managed to get into this class.

Even so, none of the students looked down on me. After all, the fact that I got sixth place in the entrance examination meant that I was capable enough.

After my introduction, it was the turn of the seventh place.

A girl at the back of the classroom stood up. She had black hair that partially covered her eyes, a gloomy expression, and very noticeable eyebags. At first glance, it seemed like she was ill.

When she felt the gazes of the other students on her, she spoke in a feeble and hesitant tone.

“… Hela Luo.”

Then, she sat down.

The rest of the students were stunned.

This was the shortest introduction until now.

However, the teacher did not pay her any more attention and looked at the next student.

The last three students were two boys and a girl. Their names were Lars Diaz, Lara Kent, and Leon Meyer. Just like most of the class, they were peak tier four Awakened, and with just a glance, they seemed like outstanding individuals.

I was slightly surprised after the introductions ended. Just in this room, there were seven peak tier four Awakened, and one tier five wakened. It could be said that Ley and I were the ‘weakest’, at just the third tier.

And I was sure that there were more Tier Four Awakened in other classes,

As expected of the best Awakened College, it was filled with geniuses.

After the introductions finished, the teacher nodded and started the first class.

The subject of the first class was [Introduction to Dungeons]. Because this was just the first class, the teacher just gave us a quick briefing about the nature of dungeons. Soon, the three hours of the first class went by, and the class ended.

Before the class finished, the teacher announced something important.

“I will give you your first assignment. For this class, you must form teams of five people. The members of your team don’t need to be from Class 1, but they must be freshmen. Also, the team must be formed before the first exam.

“Consider your team members carefully. After all, it’s likely that you will be in the same team for the following semesters, so it’s better if you have a good rapport with your team members.

“That is all. See you in the next class.”

As soon as the teacher finished talking, I felt two piercing gazes on me.

Without turning around, I knew that the gazes belonged to Sylvia and Ley.
