HIATUS

A FEW DAYS LATER:

A gorgeous red Audi 8a could be seen entering an expensive-looking house in the famous Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. The house used to belong to one of the most famous stars of the current generation, Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio. The house had a Spanish-style design, with 3560-square-foot space, and having a total of 4 bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

Leonardo decided to sell the house a week prior to an amount of 1.7 million dollars. A price that Conner was willing to fork out. Conner exited his car and he looks at his beautiful house and he was filled with so much joy. Not only did he have an expensive house but he also had the woman of his dreams.

He thought that he would spend the rest of his life not being able to be with the woman he loves. Death was an obstacle that is impossible to overcome. But it seems life workout for him.

After he was returned back to Afterlife all those years ago, he tried everything in his power to gain freedom once again. But due to the stunt that he had pulled in his previous release, he and his brother were placed in what amounted to Afterlife's maximum-security prison. In there the two of them became prisoners to the people that preached about them being their own kind and helping one another. The hypocrisy of them imprisoning someone in the place they call the home of all Inhumans did not escape Conner's ridicule.

He thought he and his brother would die there. But everything changed when the year 2006 came. An inhuman named Eva Belyakov went rogue after stealing an assortment of Terrigen Crystals, which she plans to use to trigger the Terrigenesis of her daughter Katya. She needed help to escape Afterlife, so she attacked his guards and release him and his brother from their prison.

With Eva's superhuman strength and Lucas's bone manipulation ability, the three of them work together along with Eva's daughter to escape Afterlife.

Both Conner and Lucas thought that their escape would be met with less resistance. But what greeted them was a form of resistance that Conner thought that Jiaying would never do. She ordered the guards to used lethal force, she didn't care if the 4 of them lived or died. She was even willing to allow the daughter of Eva, who was just 5 years old at that time to die while they were escaping.

This was a response that Conner did not think Jiaying was capable of. It seems the years had made her a stronger and a colder leader.

But Conner was undeterred by this. He was able to get a gun from one of the guards and used it to kill anyone who wanted to stop them from having their freedom. Just like Jiaying, the 3 of them did not care if they would have to kill their fellow species just to escape. Inhumans or not, anyone who gets in their freedom will die.

But then the worst thing happened, his brother who was guarding the rear of the group was hit by an rpg. He tried using his bone abilities to shield himself from the missile but it was too weak to handle a rocket launcher. As he runs towards his freedom, he watches his brother die due to Jiaying's order.

This made him angry at Jiaying even more. But he was powerless to do anything. So, that day he swore to return to Afterlife and personally kill her. He was already placing in motion his act of vengeance. Since the time of his release, he was able to enter the US and he had begun selling drugs to the stars of Hollywood. The vertigo drug that only he could produce gave the best high and the best part was that it has no side-effects. The stars could take as many drugs as they want without the fear of their appearance being damage due to the process. It was something that everyone with money wanted to have.

With this money, he was able to connect to some members of the black market who had connections to some mercenaries. Mercenaries that would be willing to do anything for a price.

"Honey, I'm home. I bought Chinese food", Conner said as he entered the house.

"Wait, put that on the dining table. I'm still in the shower. Don't eat without me!", a woman responded.

In fact, Conner would have already begun attacking Afterlife if not for the woman living inside the house. The woman of his dreams, the woman he thought would never be his, the woman was none other than the dead daughter of Jiaying, Kora.

He was still marveling at the ability that the Darkhold possess. To think that it could give him Kora back. The thought of stealing it from Zhang Wei did come to his mind but he quickly realized that him being an ally is far better than him being an enemy. Besides, Conner believes that if he ever tries to steal it from Zhang Wei then he will be met with a sad end.

Conner then places the food on the dining table and prepared them so that the moment Kora was done taking her shower they could eat directly. He got some fork for himself due to him still struggling to use a chopping stick. Something that Kora had made fun of.

"Food after a hot shower! That's the life", Kora said as she went to the dining table as she wraps her hair with a towel. She then gave a kiss to Zhang Wei and immediately began eating her food. Conner just smiled at her and also began eating his food. It was simple moments like this that Conner had greatly enjoyed.

MEANWHILE:

Robbie Reyes could be seen driving a sleek black Dodge Charger as he was circling the Silver Neighborhood of Los Angeles. He drives slowly as he watches the beautiful houses that he passes. This place was where the truly rich and famous live. The only reason he was able to enter the neighborhood was him making a portal in one of the locations where there were no cameras.

As he was driving,  he suddenly felt a disgusting and eerie energy hitting him like a punch to the face. He scanned his surroundings but no one was there. He immediately found this odd and just in case, he readied himself for battle.

He presses the gas pedal of his car and he decided to head straight to where the energy was coming from. The closer he was to the source the stronger the energy became. The best way he could describe the energy is that, it was unnatural. It did not belong to this world. The energy he was feeling right now was so potent that it could not be compared to the energy that the pills had.

The disparity was so large that comparing the two would be an insult. The moment he was a few houses away from the house that his prisoner had told him, Robbie stops his car and just watches the said house in the distance.

Not only could he feel the energy coming from the house, he could also see a red taint of energy encircling the said residence.

"What is going on inside of there?", Robbie said as tried studying the best way to enter the building.
