I Reincarnated into a Game Filled with Mods

Chapter 377

Afterword: Planetary Gacha Plan – 3

I stared blankly at Fetch, who looked back at me with a mischievous smile and golden-silver heterochromia eyes. Finding out that she was actually the avatar of a goddess was quite the shocking truth.

‘So that’s why she kept showing up in the Brightest Darkness Series…’

It finally made sense. If the goddess created an avatar to experience the human world, then it was no problem.

As I continued to gaze at Fetch, I moved closer. At first, she looked at me with a relaxed smile, but as the distance closed, she returned to her usual cautious demeanor and began to scurry back, glancing nervously.

I stopped just within arm’s reach. Fetch was staring up at me with a face full of anxiety.

“Why… why are you doing this, Delta-sama, I mean, you… with that scary expression… Kyaaah!”

Just like last time, I grabbed her hot pink twin tails with one hand and lifted her up. Fetch began to flail around.

“I’ve given it some thought, goddess.”

“Don’t! My hair will fall out!”

“If Fetch is the goddess’s avatar, then doesn’t that mean you tried to kill me?”

I knew Eclipse would never do that. But mixed with my grievances about her hiding such a colossal truth and my personal feelings, I was grilling her.

“No! No! When I’m not in here, Fetch is an independent entity acting on her own, so it has nothing to do with me—Kyaaah! Don’t lift me higher! I haven’t been inside Fetch for a really long time! It’s really nothing to do with me!”

Fetch—or rather, Eclipse inside her—desperately tried to explain herself. Despite the frantic tone, her excuses went on for quite a while.

To sum up, Fetch was sort of like a game character.

Just like in games where an AI takes over when a player logs off, the relationship between Fetch and Eclipse was similar.

If Eclipse was the user, then Fetch’s persona was like the AI agent. And since the Creature that Devours the World fully awakened, Eclipse had never once entered Fetch’s body.

In other words, all of Fetch’s misdeeds thus far had absolutely no connection to Eclipse—

“It’s not completely unrelated, though.”

“Kyaaah! That hurts, you!”

—It was not. Eclipse probably crafted such a deceitful, lying persona for Fetch as well.

I tugged her twin tails sharply up, and then dropped them. Fetch’s body rose and landed with a thud. Eclipse let out a shrill scream.

“If you’re going to pull, why not grab my chest, not my hair—Aah! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have asked to pull at a body without a chest!”

From her words, it seemed that it was indeed the goddess inside. Listening to her scream with one ear while ignoring it with the other, I shared my vision to see what the real Eclipse was doing.

Eclipse was leaning against the wall, eyes closed, as if meditating. She had the exact same expression as a flailing Fetch, still clutching the twin tails.

The nearby wives were exchanging glances, intrigued, at the identical expressions displayed by Fetch and Eclipse. Fetch was quite famous among the wives after all.

“Wouldn’t it have been fine if you hadn’t made that kind of personality in the first place?”

“Kyaaah! I’m seriously getting pulled out!”

Eclipse was flailing desperately on her tiptoes.

The already short underboob tights rose to a precarious level, revealing a light pink areola, but the protrusions above were absolutely not showing. Maybe it was because she was a goddess.

“B-but…! As a goddess, I had to be careful all the time, so I wanted the avatar to have a slightly free-spirited personality…”

“Did you just say ‘careful’? Huh?”

“Hiiih! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It was a slip of the tongue!”

In disbelief, I tightened my grip.

The Eclipse I had seen was leagues away from being careful. She was like that before marriage and after. The word ‘careful’ and Eclipse were opposites.

If anything, Frigia would fit better.

“Well, I understand for now. I’ll hear more details later, so let’s lift this incarnation.”

“…Yes, you.”

I released the twin tails. Eclipse nodded dejectedly. Just as she was about to deactivate her incarnation, she had a thought, raising a finger playfully to her lips, giving a soft smile.

“Your wild side taking hold is pretty appealing—”

Slick!

“Ah?!”

“Stop talking nonsense.”

Eclipse chuckled, rubbing her behind while grinning mischievously. The scream she let out must have been an act.

Fetch’s pupils slowly turned bright pink again.

“…Huh?”

As her pupils fully changed to hot pink, a question arose.

“Why are you suddenly hitting me?!”

She seemed quite wronged.

“Why did I hit you?”

“Yes! This time, I didn’t do anything and just stayed still! Then suddenly you hit me! And why my pure, poor bottom! Delta-san, you’re a pervert?!”

I was flabbergasted to suddenly be branded as a pervert when a voice echoed in my head.

—I slightly twisted your memory. It wouldn’t be good if you knew she was the goddess’s avatar. You’ll remember that we were just having a normal conversation.

That wasn’t a completely unreasonable explanation.

—Thanks to that, I’ve become a pervert, though?

Just excluding that part.

—Oh dear. I’m sorry, darling. Since I’ve tarnished your reputation, I suppose I should pay for it? Should I lie on the bed with my legs spread waiting? Or perhaps in a position with just my butt up?

Eclipse’s voice dripped with honey as she laughed seductively, throwing in her last goodbye before vanishing. Had she been aiming for that all along? Truly an impressive goddess for many reasons.

Shaking my head in disbelief, I looked over at Fetch, who was still pouting by herself. Should I bring up that she asked me to slap her butt on our first meeting? I decided against it.

“Were you still a virgin?”

“‘Still’?! How rare is it for a woman who has never held a man’s hand to live so long!”

At once, I received a bouncing reaction.

Fetch began to passionately explain just how valuable a ‘woman who has maintained her purity for so long’ was, all the while skillfully avoiding direct mention of her age.

If you put it that way, wasn’t Eclipse even rarer? Sure, as a goddess, she was rare, but…

No, since Fetch was also an avatar of a goddess, maybe they were similar.

“So how much is the price?”

“…Huh?”

Noticing her lecturing me, I threw in a little joke. Fetch finally realized the awkwardness and shut her mouth, but it was already spilled water.

“You just said with your own mouth that even if the world ended, it would be priceless. So how much is that immense price?”

“Uh…”

Fetch stumbled over her words, clearly caught off guard.

“T-The thing is… well…”

From all sides, the daughters’ gazes pierced sharply. Especially, the one from under the chin was the most intense. It clearly showed jealousy. Were they really thinking they could buy Fetch?

I hadn’t even considered it, but if they did, the jealousy should come from the wives, not the daughters.

“If only to poke fun, go back. Forget everything you saw here, alright?”

“Of course! I’ll forget everything!”

Worried that lingering any longer would cause real misunderstanding, I opened the crack, and Fetch dashed back to her mansion with a relieved expression as if she’d just escaped.

After sending her off, I looked down at Harna, who was still snickering darkly, having overheard our conversation.

“Harna.”

“Hehehe, yeah, daddy. Did you see that? Fetch was really stupid—”

“Zero points.”

“Eh?”

I gave her outright zero points, making her pitch-black eyes cloud over. Harna looked up at me with a forlorn expression.

“Great job, princesses.”

“Yeah! See, Rene? I told you, as long as you do it properly, you’ll get praised!”

“Ah, got it, Angela. But just be quiet for a bit… I can hear everything…!”

The last ones, Angela and Rene, had constructed a very solid world, truly resembling the Empire as if they copied and pasted it.

Naturally, they were first place, earning lots of praise. Even though they brought over Eclipse’s world directly, it was the best when compared to the other two so it was understandable.

Regina and Selene had made something nice but were just a little lacking in common sense, while Harna was always out of the running anyway. At least Harna got what was coming to her.

Still, I couldn’t let my daughter go off gloomy, so I did my best to comfort her by sitting beside her. Soon, they all regained their confidence.

“Now it’s our turn! Watch this, daddy!”

“Calm down, Rebecca. This isn’t a competition.”

“But if I win, I’ll be happy. You better take notes on mine, dad.”

As we descended, Rebecca, Victoria, and Lorelia stepped forward, saying they had already decided the order.

‘…Somehow, this feels uneasy.’

All three had eyes that didn’t bode well.
