CHAPTER 325

CHAPTER 325: Dao of Array Formations

Ever since Lu Ming had begun cultivating, he had never encountered any bottlenecks.

For Lu Ming, the bottlenecks that others faced seemed almost laughable, as he could surpass them with ease.

However, this time, Lu Ming realized that he might not be able to avoid the bottleneck of the Primordial Pattern.

He would have to wait until he returned and consult the system to see what insights it might offer.

Just as Lu Ming was about to take his leave, Jiu Han spoke again.

“There’s another matter.”

“Teacher, please continue,” Lu Ming replied.

“Do you remember what I mentioned to you earlier, about the path that belongs exclusively to you?”

Lu Ming immediately nodded. “Of course, I remember.”

If he could harness the Divine Origin within his body, Lu Ming would become an Outer Dao God, possessing strength comparable to that of a deity.

“I have an idea,” Jiu Han said. He then added, “However, this path requires profound knowledge of Array Formations. Not only must I master these formations, but you will also need to do so.”

Lu Ming paused, taken slightly aback, and fell into contemplation.

Jiu Han continued, “If you are willing, do not miss any more morning classes. I will teach you the principles of Array Formations during these sessions. Additionally, you can study the subject in the library.”

“I understand that you might be concerned that learning about Array Formations could slow your cultivation progress. However, I firmly believe it is worth the effort.”

With that, Jiu Han paused and concluded, “The choice is yours.”

He then turned and exited the room.

As Lu Ming walked back to his quarters, he reflected on the two critical issues now occupying his thoughts.

The first was the bottleneck of the Primordial Pattern.

The second was the challenge of mastering the Dao of Array Formations.

By the time he returned to his cultivation chamber, Lu Ming had largely organized his thoughts.

“I’ll tackle the bottleneck and study the Dao of Array Formations.”

In any case, Lu Ming realized he did not have many other options available.

“But I should consult the system first to see what it has to say.”

Perhaps the system could provide Lu Ming with a perfect solution.

Sinking into the Void Space, Lu Ming retrieved the Origin Scripture’s Origin Power Skill Inheritance Orb. Before long, he had fully grasped the cultivation method of the Origin Scripture.

As Jiu Han had mentioned, this body forging technique shared the same source as the Spirit Refinement Technique. It was a technique in which the higher the concentration of Origin Power, the faster the cultivation.

As an Origin Realm body forging technique, the Origin Scripture provided Lu Ming with ten times the attribute points of the Spirit Refinement Technique.

Upon beginning the technique, each cycle granted a 100-point attribute gain.

Lu Ming immediately commenced cultivation.

Several hours later, in real-time, Lu Ming completed his session and opened his attribute panel.

His stats were now visible:

Name: Lu Ming
Level: Physique Realm, Level 5
Age: 27
Strength: 100 million
Physique: 100 million
Agility: 100 million
Free attribute points: 100 million
Divine Origin Points: 163

As Jiu Han had mentioned earlier, 100 million in three-dimensional attributes marked the upper limit.

After reaching this threshold, no matter how much Lu Ming cultivated the body forging technique, he could no longer increase his physical strength. Even the free attribute points could no longer be raised.

However, he could still absorb Divine Origin Points.

“As for the bottleneck...” Lu Ming muttered, looking at the panel below.

At some point, a line of text had appeared under his attributes:

—Blood Patterns Bottleneck: 0.001%

[Note: You can use one Divine Origin Point to increase your progress by 10%.]

When Lu Ming saw this, he couldn’t help but smile slightly.

The daunting part was that the Primordial Pattern bottleneck seemed exceedingly difficult to break through.

The amusing part was that the system had created a progress bar for it.

“Well then...”

If there was a progress bar, Lu Ming knew he could max it out.

As for using Divine Origin Points to accelerate the process, Lu Ming briefly considered it but ultimately decided against it.

If he could work through the bottleneck by effort alone, he would. If not, he could always use points later.

Life returned to its usual routine.

Since arriving at the Three Forms Academy, things had been relatively calm for Lu Ming. Although his cultivation speed had accelerated dramatically, there had been little disruption.

Every morning, he attended Jiu Han’s classes alongside Lin Feng, learning the intricacies of Array Formations. In his spare time, Lu Ming spent hours in the library, continually expanding his knowledge.

Though studying Array Formations had slowed his attribute grinding somewhat, Lu Ming viewed this as a balance between work and rest. Learning Array Formations felt almost like a form of mental relaxation.

A week later, in the Void Space, after practicing the newly acquired Ancient Realm body forging technique, Ancient Divine Nerve, Lu Ming had polished the bottleneck to 15.76% completion.

The progress was relatively swift.

After concluding his body forging session, Lu Ming sat cross-legged again. Origin Power flowed from his fingertips and, under his control, formed intricate lines in the air.

At that moment, Lu Ming’s focus was razor-sharp.

Soon, with the lines aligned perfectly, a simple Origin Gathering Formation took shape.

Seeing the glowing formation, Lu Ming sighed with relief.

“It’s finally done.”

For the past week, aside from reading, Lu Ming had been diligently studying Array Formations during Jiu Han’s classes. He had to admit, though, that the field was vast, with a great deal to learn from the basics.

It wasn’t until today that Lu Ming had finally managed to construct the simplest Origin Gathering Formation.

“But where there’s a will, there’s a way. Once I’ve grasped the fundamentals, nothing will stop me.”

He opened his attribute panel and scrolled down to the skill column.

There, it was recorded that he had created the Origin Gathering Formation.

—Array Formation Lv1 (1/1000)

Array formation skills fell under miscellaneous studies and did not offer any attribute bonuses. However, the proficiency requirements seemed formidable, causing Lu Ming to frown.

“This is going to be difficult to level up...”

After a moment’s reflection, Lu Ming refocused and constructed another Origin Gathering Formation.

Proficiency +1

It became clear that this skill was much harder to improve than body forging techniques.

However, Lu Ming was undeterred.

With time on his side, he knew he would eventually master it.

Time, after all, was Lu Ming’s greatest ally.

Meanwhile, Jiu Han’s research had reached a temporary stalemate.

There was an overwhelming amount of Divine Origin within the inner layer of the divinity.

Every time Lu Ming drained it, a small wisp of liquid Divine Origin would emerge from the core.

Even after countless repetitions, there seemed to be no indication that this supply would be exhausted.

Yet, as vast as the sea may be, it is not infinite.

Jiu Han believed that, with time, Lu Ming would eventually break through the inner layer of the divinity and uncover the true nature of this so-called divinity.

In fact, Jiu Han already had a few tentative theories regarding the true nature of the divinity. Each time the energy within the divinity was depleted and liquid Divine Origin emerged, he caught glimpses of the deeper structure of the inner core.

However, these glimpses were too brief to offer conclusive insight.

At that moment, the voice of Jiu Han’s clone resounded in his ear.

“There is a disturbance on the frontlines. You must return immediately.”

Jiu Han frowned.

After a brief moment of contemplation, he sighed.

“This battle began under such mysterious circumstances...”

“Eternity, and the leader of the subverters hidden in the shadows... What is this war truly about, and what do they know that I do not?”

Jiu Han remained perplexed.
