CHAPTER 334

CHAPTER 334: Clowns Desperation

A brief flash of light illuminated the space, and after a momentary trance, Kebo, Deng Miao, and Lei Fu materialized in Lu Ming’s manor.

Deng Miao’s eyes gleamed faintly as a miniature array formation, meticulously designed by Lin Feng, activated. This formation allowed Deng Miao’s vision to serve as a conduit, transmitting every detail of the scene to Lin Feng, much like the installation of a sophisticated surveillance system.

As soon as the trio regained their footing, they instinctively formed a triangular perimeter, heightening their vigilance as their surroundings came into sharp focus. The sight that greeted them was grim. The decapitated bodies of Sikong Zhen and Bo Hao lay strewn on the ground, while Lu Ming, a short distance away, appeared to be in quiet repose, his eyes closed.

However, the attention of Kebo and the others were not on Lu Ming himself but on the looming presence of the Semi-Divine realm expert they assumed to be present—the protector of Three Elements Academy. Their bodies tensed, and a palpable aura of caution filled the air.

Yet despite their heightened awareness, they perceived nothing unusual.

Unable to restrain his curiosity, Deng Miao broke the silence. “Where is he? Where is Fang Tieshan?”

Fang Tieshan was the Semi-Divine realm expert assigned to guard the academy. His absence only deepened their confusion.

Perhaps the sound of Deng Miao’s voice stirred Lu Ming from his meditation, for at that moment, he slowly opened his eyes. His gaze swept across the three intruders, and after a brief contemplation, he softly uttered an inexplicable phrase: “Add points…”

Kebo and Deng Miao exchanged bewildered glances. Lin Feng, monitoring from afar, was similarly nonplussed.

“What nonsense is he talking about?” Lin Feng’s voice crackled through the transmission array, ringing in Deng Miao’s ears. “Attack! Subdue him! Without Fang Tieshan present, we can end this quickly!”

Spurred by Lin Feng’s command, Deng Miao advanced with purpose.

The moment Lin Feng’s words fell, Lu Ming’s mind surged with an influx of knowledge—Dao of Array Formation Lv36→Lv37. Like a torrent, intricate insights into array formations flooded his consciousness, awakening memories, and crystallizing understanding. Yet despite his accelerated mental absorption, such knowledge still required time to process.

Deng Miao, however, was in no mood to wait. In a single stride, she stood before Lu Ming, her eyes blazing with resolve. As Lu Ming’s gaze met hers, he calmly gestured toward the bodies of Sikong Zhen and Bo Hao.

“Were they with you?” he asked, his tone measured.

Deng Miao’s silence was telling. The cold killing intent radiating from her was answered enough.

Lu Ming’s brow furrowed slightly. “I still don’t know which side you represent. Who’s behind you? The Subverter Alliance, I presume?”

He paused, his thoughts momentarily diverging toward the Boshi Tower, an artifact central to his current struggles.

“Who’s vying for control of the Boshi Tower now?” Lu Ming continued, more to himself than to his adversaries. “It must be someone familiar with the array formations within… Could they be an acquaintance?”

Yet, as he mused aloud, Deng Miao’s patience had run thin. Without warning, she attacked.

With a single, fluid motion, her jade-like finger shot toward Lu Ming’s forehead, imbued with the lethal precision of a Semi-Divine realm expert. Deng Miao, a Semi-Divine realm, borne of 173 Dao patterns. Those who attained Semi-Divinity were by nature the epitome of genius, individuals whose cultivation had transcended the mundane, and Deng Miao was no exception. Her particular prowess lay in her Origin Power Skills, a talent that had allowed her to condense 173 silver Dao patterns before the age of three thousand.

As her finger extended, silver patterns shimmered across her smooth skin, enhancing the devastating power of her strike.

Just before her finger touched Lu Ming’s forehead, a faint, satisfied smile curled at the edges of Deng Miao’s lips. She could already envision the aftermath—the gruesome scene of Lu Ming’s skull shattering under the force of her Meteor God Finger. No matter how resilient Lu Ming’s regenerative abilities were, the lingering effects of her attack would ravage him until nothing remained of the so-called greatest genius in the world.

Her heart is thrilled at the thought—the exhilaration of obliterating a rising star, the euphoria of extinguishing a prodigy before their time.

Then, a sudden crack.

The sound reverberated through the space as her finger collided with Lu Ming’s forehead.

Deng Miao hesitated. “His head… is hard? I expected it to explode instantly, yet it’s only fractured his skull?”

But the scream that tore from her throat moments later was not one of triumph.

To her horror, Deng Miao realized it wasn’t Lu Ming’s skull that had fractured—it was her own finger. Her once slender, delicate finger had twisted grotesquely, and splintered into three parts. The joints had shattered under the force, leaving the finger limp, more akin to a broken earthworm than a human appendage.

For a fleeting moment, even Lu Ming appeared taken aback. His voice softened. “Or you could bring that person to me instead…”

Deng Miao’s pained scream echoed through the manor, so piercing that Lu Ming found it difficult to continue speaking. He let out a heavy sigh, his gaze growing solemn.

“I was willing to consider letting you go if you brought me the one responsible,” he said quietly. “But now, you’ve attacked me. The situation has changed.”

His deep, composed gaze locked onto Deng Miao, whose panicked retreat belied the once formidable aura she had exuded.

At that moment, a voice whispered in Deng Miao’s ear—Lin Feng, urging calm. “Don’t panic. This isn’t his power; it’s the Boshi Tower’s array formation. As the master of the array, Lu Ming is shielded by its semi-divine level defenses.”

Lin Feng’s assessment wasn’t merely an attempt to console. His reasoning seemed sound—after all, Lu Ming had been but a disciple three years ago, bearing a mere three silver patterns. No matter how talented he was, reaching Semi-Divine realm in such a short span seemed implausible.

Reassured, Deng Miao cast a glance at Rafe. With renewed resolve, Rafe leapt forward, his 85 silver patterns igniting as he launched his most powerful strike.

Aspect of the Divine Fist!” he roared, as his fist, heavy with the force of lightning and cannon fire, hurtled toward Lu Ming’s face.

Deng Miao, too, readied herself, activating her Meteor God Finger once more.

Lin Feng’s voice continued in her ear. “I’m suppressing the array’s power. Just a bit longer. Keep attacking. Soon, Lu Ming’s defenses will crumble…”

But even as Lin Feng’s words trailed off, his voice grew softer, until it was little more than a whisper.

For in that moment, Lin Feng realized with cold clarity that Lu Ming was not drawing upon the power of the array at all.

Beads of sweat formed on Lin Feng’s forehead. He stared at Lu Ming in bewilderment and noticed, faintly, the irritation on Lu Ming’s face.

“You clowns…”

With a swift, effortless motion, Lu Ming’s hand shot forward, seizing Rafe by the face. Despite Rafe’s desperate struggle, Lu Ming’s iron grip remained unyielding.

Under the suffocating weight of the silence, Deng Miao faltered, stepping back in fear.

Lu Ming’s voice rang out, sharp and biting.

“You clowns… Who are you trying to tickle?”

Then, his expression hardened. With calm authority, he added:

“Add more points!”

The Dao of Array Formation Lv37→Lv38…
