CHAPTER 342

CHAPTER 342: Array of Desperation

“Boom!”

A huge light wave, nearly ten meters in diameter, erupted from the tip of Moonfiend’s finger. The reaction of the Earth Puppet was insignificant compared to even a single hair of Moonfiend!

The light wave struck the large head of the Earth Puppet, blasting it to the ground instantly! The lingering force of the wave pressed down on the Earth Puppet like a mountain. The ground began to crack as the Earth Puppet was pushed deeper and deeper into the earth.

The outer layer of the Divine Origin Armor gradually thinned under the relentless destruction of the Moonlight Waves. Just three seconds later, the armor was pierced…

Without the protection of the Divine Origin, the Earth Puppet, with only the strength of a single primordial Dao pattern, was instantly vaporized by the Moonlight Waves, disappearing without a trace.

“Trash!” Moonfiend sneered and shook her head, giving her evaluation.

In the manor, Lu Ming also witnessed the entire process of Moonfiend dominating the Earth Puppet.

“It was defeated faster than expected…” Lu Ming muttered.

The Earth Puppet had been Lu Ming’s primary means to stall Moonfiend. Using the power of the formation, Lu Ming had created an Earth Puppet with the strength of a single primordial Dao pattern and infused it with Divine Origin, allowing the puppet to threaten the Divine Realm on both offense and defense—this had been Lu Ming’s original plan.

The idea was sound and theoretically feasible.

However, the problem was that Lu Ming seemed to have underestimated the methods of the divine beings. Jiu Han had mentioned countless times that the essence of the Divine Realm was that of an Ancient Realm or an Ascendant, granting the authority to wield Divine Origin.

There was nothing particularly impressive about them.

Lu Ming had listened to this and tentatively believed it. But now, seeing Moonfiend, Lu Ming realized that things were not that simple at all…

“Actually, Teacher Jiu Han is not entirely wrong.”

“The only deviation is in how the Divine Origin is used.”

The Divine Origin carried a very strong personal imprint. Whoever birthed the Divine Origin would be the one able to use it. Therefore, someone like Lu Ming, who could absorb the Divine Origin of others and convert it into his own power, was highly valued by Jiu Han.

The problem lay in the application of this power.

Lu Ming’s way of using the Divine Origin with the Earth Puppet was simple and crude—just possess the armor, and it would be done! This was also a necessity. Since Lu Ming himself was unable to wield the Divine Origin with flexibility, he could hardly expect the Earth Puppet he created to do so.

In this basic usage, 100 units of Divine Origin could only unleash one effect.

On the other hand, true Divine Realm experts used Divine Origin in a way similar to Origin Power skills—the Divine Origin flowed within their bodies, transforming into energy akin to Origin Power. Through a specific operational logic, the power of their attacks was maximized, or they could produce special effects.

In the hands of a divine being, 0.01 units of Divine Origin could unleash one effect.

This comparison revealed an outrageous disparity!

“But it doesn’t matter,” Lu Ming thought.

With another thought, and with the level 589 Dao of Array Formation as the foundation, more Origin Power array formations appeared in the void space in front of Lu Ming. Numerous runes flickered, outlining strange arcs that combined into more array patterns. Lu Ming then sent these array patterns to the battlefield where Moonfiend was located.

“I don’t have much, but I have enough Divine Origin Points.”

“Aren’t you good at fighting? Just fight a few more to entertain me!”

◆◇☣◇◆

“Trash,” Moonfiend sneered, her voice dripping with disdain as she watched the spot where the Earth Puppet had disintegrated into nothingness. A faint smirk tugged at the corners of her lips, unimpressed by the resistance she had just obliterated.

As she turned to survey her surroundings, intent on figuring out how to advance deeper into the Boshi Tower, a deep, resonant rumble shook the ground beneath her feet. The sudden vibration jolted her senses.

Her eyes narrowed, and instinctively, she glanced downward.

The earth beneath her trembled violently, as if something ancient and powerful was stirring below the surface. Cracks spider-webbed through the soil, and, moments later, the ground erupted. Massive figures, each towering over ten meters tall, clawed their way out of the earth, one after another. Their colossal forms loomed over the battlefield, shadows cast long and ominous in the dim light of the tower.

These were no ordinary constructs. Earth Puppets, forged from the same material as the soil beneath her feet, rose with a newfound vitality. At the same time, intricate array patterns materialized in the air around them, pulsing with raw energy before latching onto the puppets like living armor.

Golden light flared to life, illuminating the puppets with an otherworldly glow. The radiant energy swirled around them, growing more intense with each passing second, as if preparing for the next assault.

The mud puppets were like small suns, emitting golden light. Moonfiend watched as the number of Earth Puppets gradually increased, and the golden light spread from the surface of their bodies, eventually connecting to form a unified glow.

Before long, a dazzling array of several hundred Earth Puppets stood on the ground like an army, as if covering the earth with a golden carpet.

Moonfiend’s face instantly turned the color of pig liver.

“How is this possible…”

“How can there be so many!!”

While she roared in disbelief, Lu Ming did not give Moonfiend much time to react. One Earth Puppet after another leaped from the ground, their legs pushing off the earth.

For a moment, it was as if a golden wall was brazenly pressing toward Moonfiend!

Since quality wasn’t enough, he would make up for it with quantity!

Hundreds of Earth Puppets consumed only a few thousand Divine Origin Points!

This was an astronomical figure to any Divine Realm expert, but it was only 1% of Lu Ming’s accumulation over the past three years.

Moreover, it didn’t matter if these Earth Puppets weren’t a match for Moonfiend.

The level 589 Dao of Array Formation had already given Lu Ming a better way to deal with Moonfiend.

The battle between Moonfiend and the puppet legion erupted instantly. The earth rumbled, and space exploded. Tremendous energy ripples caused the Boshi Tower to tremble, but a large number of array formations vaguely appeared from the Void Space, stabilizing the spatial environment inside the Boshi Tower.

Moonfiend paid no attention to any of this.

She herself didn’t have any array formation skills to rely on, so she couldn’t discern the faint array formations around her that were subtly flashing, circulating in a fixed pattern, and becoming increasingly complex and massive.

✦✧☠︎✧✦

Meanwhile, in the manor, Lu Ming entered the Void again.

“Add more points!”

A level 589 array formation was still too low.

Lu Ming needed more.

The gap between the divine-powered Earth Puppets and Moonfiend was huge. Unfortunately, this gap hadn’t reached the point of a qualitative change.

It was merely a difference in their usage techniques, and both sides ultimately relied on the Divine Origin.

This also meant that quantity could definitely overwhelm Moonfiend—it simply depended on how much Lu Ming was willing to invest.

The earth-shattering aftermath of their intense battle continued, destroying everything in the surroundings. However, under the influence of the Boshi Tower’s grand array, the chaos was confined to this layer and couldn’t affect anything else.

Moonfiend, surrounded by the divine-powered puppets, had completely lost her composure.

Her expression was solemn, devoid of joy or sorrow. But it was precisely because Moonfiend was in this state that she could focus on mobilizing every trace of strength within her body.

This meant she was serious… She had no choice but to be serious.

A steady stream of divine-augmented Stone Puppets appeared around her. Moonfiend could often repel them with a single punch. She could even use some of her trump cards that weren’t considered lethal moves to completely shatter the Stone Puppets…

However, there were far too many of them.

So many that Moonfiend gradually felt exhaustion creeping in.

“I’ll die… I’ll be exhausted to death…”

Half an hour later, Moonfiend reached this conclusion.

Yet, her means were limited, and she couldn’t find a way to break free from the situation.

Just as Moonfiend began to feel a sense of despair, a light suddenly flashed before her eyes. The light rapidly expanded, forming a gateway, and a manor appeared before Moonfiend’s eyes.

In the empty space in front of the manor, a handsome young man anxiously looked at Moonfiend and roared, “Lady Moonfiend, come here! Come here quickly!”

Moonfiend was first stunned. Then, gritting her teeth, she forced the divine-empowered puppets back and dashed through the light gate like lightning.

When Moonfiend crossed the gate and arrived at the manor, the light gate behind her instantly closed.

The man in the manor turned to look at Moonfiend and heaved a sigh of relief.

“I’m Lin Feng. Greetings, my Lady.”
