Chapter 14 Beginning Operations

Chapter 14 Beginning Operations

I had Wesley meet my Overhaul Clone. I had my Overhaul clone ask for specific equipment or as close to it as possible that I know from the memories I got from the Doctor, as well as things I needed for myself. Eventually, when I have taken complete control over Wesley I'll have him look into getting me a new identity. But there's a problem. At the moment everyone is afraid of Fisk. Not me. I need to take control of this organization completely before revealing myself. After I do, it will be too late for anyone to stop me. But I need it so that everyone outside the organization thinks it's still Fisk in charge. Not All For One. I'll eventually reveal myself, but that will be later. Much later.

Wesley and Fisk had a few contacts, he and I pretending to be Fisk worked together and managed to create a lab for my Overhaul clone to work in. After working for a while, and after spending a lot of money that I had given him using the Identity of Fisk, my Overhaul clone managed to duplicate the [Liedetector] Quirk. I swapped out the duplicate with the Original I gave Wesley. Duplicates are slightly weaker than the original. Only around 5-8% but that can be a lot after it adds up. The process of duplicating quirks is a success. Now, I need to duplicate X-genes.

.....

It took a week of trial and error. We tried many approaches and constantly failed, but eventually, we succeeded. Now we can duplicate X-genes. Before that, we had duplicated 4 quirks:

[Strength enhancer Quirk - A basic strength-enhancing quirk.]

[Intelligence Enhancement Quirk - Enhances the users' intellect.]

[Body Strengthening Quirk - Strengthens the user's body. Makes the user much more durable.]

[Healthy body Quirk - gives the user a healthy body. Affects things like eyesight and how fast someone ages.]

I got them whenever I first came to this world, and I finally managed to duplicate them. They are basic enhancers to the body. Based on my experiments, people can handle more quirks and X-genes than shown in the MHA anime. But it depends on what they are. Giganto Machia could hold 7. But from what I can see, there's more potential as long as I pick the right ones. They are strong, but they don't put nearly as much strain on the body as most other abilities. I took all the quirks from my Overhaul clone before giving him the four copied quirks and he still hasn't shown any real problems with handling them. 4 Quirks. During this time, I also managed to duplicate Overhaul. I took back the original from my clone before, but now I gave him a copy. Leaving him with 5 Quirks. But I would prefer to be safe rather than sorry. So, I gave him one more quirk.

I had bought the [Liedetector] quirk from the store and gave it to Wesley before taking it back and giving a copy to him instead, but I had also gotten two other quirks. I had gotten the [Barrier] quirk, as well as [CellActivation]. [Barrier] Allows me to create translucent barriers of energy. Primarily in the shape of a sphere, but I can also make just a plain wall. The original owner was a subordinate of Overhaul from MHA.

I had bought the quirk and I again noticed a difference between my copy and its original user. For him the barriers were Yellow. For me, they're red. A dark ominous red. Again, quirks react differently based on different users. I have noticed something interesting looking through my memories though. Specifically the color of quirks. Deku when he used OFA green lightning appeared around his body. When All Might used it during his fight with All For One, it was yellow. And AFO always had a red aura around him. And Nine whenever he used his copy of All For One, the quirk had a green aura instead of a red one. He also didn't have the holes in his palm. So the colors are different based on different users. But some quirks seem to be different. My finger lasers have a purple color just like in the MHA movie when Nine used it.

Some quirks seem to not act like that. In color at least. Maybe it would behave differently in other ways if I gave it to someone else.

And [CellActivation] is the quirk that Nine was trying to steal in the MHA movie. He had stolen another version of the quirk before, but it only worked on type A blood. And he had type B blood. So he tracked down the person whose quirk he stole's son in order to steal his quirk since quirks are hereditary. The possibility his son had the same quirk that could work only on type B, or all blood types was high.

I got the quirk from the store that the man's son had. It has no blood type restriction, unlike his father. I needed an actual healing ability, and I found it in the store. What it does is activate someone's cells, causing them to divide and thus heal the body. It uses the person's stamina to heal their body though. The person who has it can also use it on themselves. Some quirks have limitations such as they can only work on others and not themselves, like Masque's power. But this quirk doesn't have that problem.

I also looked into making a copy of All For One. After figuring out what it would require, I put it aside until much later. I usually have the quirk of DNA decay always active to prevent anyone from getting any of my DNA. I had deactivated it to extract some blood to run tests. But I reactivated it after I was finished and destroyed the samples.

We also duplicated the X-gene of Caliban. He was a Morlock with the ability to sense mutants. With it, I'll be able to find mutants much more efficiently.

I originally had 2690VP but I spent some to buy quirks like [Liedetector], [Barrier], and [CellActivation].

2690VP
2690 - 50 = 2640VP + [LieDetector]
2640 - 90 = 2550VP + [CellActivation]
2550 - 120 = 2430VP + [Barrier]

These were the quirks I got from the shop. After I scanned through what I had gotten I looked at some of the more powerful quirks to see exactly what they cost. And I also looked at a few that just happened to be there.

[BloodCurdle] = 15VP
[Zoom] = 35VP
[Hydra] = 90VP
[Explosion] = 160VP
[Transform] = 180VP
[Gigantification] = 210VP
[LifeForce] = 220VP
[SuperRegeneration] = 380VP
[IceManipulation] = 400VP
[Cryo] = 420VP
[Hellfire] = 425VP
[Half-hot Half-cold] = 650VP
[WeatherManipulation] = 950VP
[HighSpec] = 1000VP
[Double] = 1400VP

14 quirks. These 14 are the ones I have my sights set on to get in the future. Especially [HighSpecs], the intelligence-enhancing quirk that belonged to the principal of UA in MHA.

I had 2430VP remaining after I had bought those three quirks. However, I had gotten a quest and completed it so I had more VP.

{Quest: Duplicate a quirk
Details: You have gotten the knowledge of Dr. Garaki. Use it and duplicate a quirk.
Rewards: 600VP}

After I finished it I also got an achievement.

{Achievement unlocked: Duplicate an X-gene
Details: You have successfully duplicated an X-gene. Something similar yet different to the quirk factor. You have surpassed Garaki in this.
Rewards: 150VP

so in total, I gained 750VP. 2430 + 750 = 3180VP. I'm practically rolling in money right now. It would be a waste not to get a quirk... The choice is obvious.

{-1000VP}

{Remaining VP: 2180}

{Quirk added: [HighSpecs]}

I could instantly feel the difference. I felt smarter. Like I could actually feel it. I could recall things much easier. I usually used the system to help me remember things, but now I felt completely different. This quirk was so worth it.

But now, there's a problem. I want both [HellFire] and [Cryo]. But I can't buy both because they were too expensive. I would normally just get [Half-hot Half-cold] and be done with it. But I would like the original if possible. It's a mix between the two. I can't separate it. No wait, maybe I can. [Half-hot Half-cold] is a mix between [HellFire] and [Cryo]. So maybe I can buy it, then duplicate it, and then separate the aspects and save VP. Yeah, that I can do.

{-650VP}

{2180 - 650 = 1530VP}

{Quirk added: [Half-hot Half-cold]}

I immediately teleported over and let my Overhaul clone get a sample and let him duplicate it. But now I only have 1530VP. But I'll get more in time. So it's not a problem.

.....

After 5 days he successfully separated [HellFire] and [Cryo] out of the composite quirk. I took the 2 copies and kept the original [Half-hot Half-cold] quirk. I practiced by making an entire building freeze. It looked awesome but I knew I could do more, and I was just holding back. I also gained a perk after acquiring 40 powers.

{Perk added}

{Perk: [PowerThief]}

Let's see... It's a special perk given to someone with the ability to steal powers. I stole 40 powers and I was given it. It gives a 10% increase in total power capable of being exerted from my powers, as well as a minor increase in affinity and learning speed. A very useful passive.

But that's enough of that. Right now I need to get back to work on my latest project. I have been experimenting with artificially awakening a quirk/X-gene in someone. And I have had some success. I had given various subordinates an offer that I might be able to awaken their mutant powers. And I succeeded. Out of the ten starter subjects, I was able to awaken 4 of their X-genes without the violent pain-inducing process from the Deadpool movie.

I had a suspicion before, so I tested it, and it worked. My [DiseaseWorsening] X-gene was a lot more useful than I could have imagined. It doesn't only make diseases worse, it makes conditions worse. What can be considered a condition? The X-gene. I got the idea from an anime I saw years ago. It's a little different, but it works.

I use it to forcefully activate someone's X-gene and they become a mutant. The 4 people had very basic abilities. One could heat his hands, one could make spikes come out of his skin, one was stronger than the rest, and the other was able to weld things together. A weak ability that allowed him to weld things together. He thought it was useless, but it wasn't. All powers have their uses... I stole the ability from him and gave him a copy.

The six others didn't have the X-gene. So that means I had a nearly 100% success rate of awakening abilities. I offered them the chance that I might be able to turn them into a mutant artificially. They agreed and a week later, the last six gained mutant powers. I gave all of them the same thing. Copies of the power I stole from that gang member who tried to take over the Morlocks.

[SuperStrength/AirBlast X-gene - gives user super strength and the ability to shoot air blasts.]

The four who gained their abilities naturally were jealous that these guys gained a much more OP ability than them. So I gave them copies too. Since they only had 2 powers, their bodies weren't suffering too badly.

I had them work on guarding certain places or act as bodyguards for important people in the organization. Oh, and also, Iron Man has revealed himself.
