Infinity in the Void – Freedom in the Abyss

Contract problem

"Hello, little angel.", Silla gained distance, going closer to Enna, making the Fallen Angel feel uncomfortable, "How are you?"

"G-Good.", she froze up.

"So what was in the Contract?", Silla asked, tapping her foot.

"Uhh... nothing..., damn, I was so swept up in food I wrote nothing besides just agreeing to the contract, no time limit, no other condition... fuck me."

Silla nodded with a mocking smile, "you really fucked yourself."

"Umm... what is going on?", Charlotte asked, completely out of the loop.

They both look at Charlotte. Enna tried to speak but Silla got the jump first, "Well! An incomplete Contract is bad for the Demon involved. With no time limit she basically has to stay here for the rest of your life, little one. Without a condition, you can order her to do things against her will. Now, try saying 'sit'."

"Sit.", Charlotte complied.

Instantly, Enna fell down onto the ground, sitting on her legs as if an unnatural force too holding her.

"I really messed up, didn't I...", she grumbled.

"Hehehe! Luci is laughing his ass off, he said 'Dumbass'! You really are a dumbass!"

"Fuck... humiliated at the first day of work...", Enna was about to cry.

"Oh, you'll have a job soon enough. A trial period of some sort, except you don't get to end it, or salary unless you get a Ph.D. or something similar.", Silla said, going next to Enna.

"Anyway, welcome to the Babel Organization, the Protector in the Shadow.", she helped her up.

"Thanks... and what's a PhD?", Enna asked.

"A doctorate, the highest award at that. Everyone who works for the Organization has a Ph.D. or Master's degree. I have, like, five of them. Nuclear Physics, History, Law, Humanities, and Worldly Edict."

"Does Athen have one?", Charlotte asked.

"Surprisingly, she does! Physical Education, she can be a genius in the right mood.", Silla glanced at Charlotte, "Because you are in an extremely special situation, you don't need one, little one. With having the entire knowledge of the human race in your mind, getting one would be a walk in the park."

"I see.", Charlotte nodded.

"Little one, go to your room and pick out some nice clothes. I'll borrow Enna for a bit, she needs clothes after all."

Right now, Enna is naked without a single piece of cloth to call her own. Charlotte nodded, but before she went, she asked, "Where is Athen?"

"Oh, she's dying from embarrassment. I did a little prank on her while she was drunk~ it was funny at first, until she snapped her neck and went on her revival trial... she left a big pool of blood in my room, that wasn't very funny.", Silla sighed, "Come on now, Enna, we don't have all day!"

"Y-Yes Ma'am!", she instinctively saluted out of fear, then followed Silla.

With nothing left to do, Charlotte looked at the bent railings she made. Now looking at it, the railing lost its form, deformed by her test of power. It was bugging her for some reason. She touched them, releasing some Reverie onto them.

And they turned back to normal.

...

...What?

"Uh... what?", Charlotte was confused.

Congratulations~ you unlocked a new thing! Now you are able to use a teeny tiny bit of a Sub Akashic Records~

"What does that mean?", Charlotte furrowed her brows.

Hysteria ties with imagination~ the recipe for something~~ Delusional~

"Delusion...", Charlotte whispered under her breath.

Yep yep~ now what's the line again? Ah yes! Reality can be whatever you want~ In an extremely limited form.

Charlotte snapped her finger, with a very pathetic sound since this was her first time doing it. It was unnecessary, but the air became cooler instantly for a short moment before it was mixed with the ambiance air. Happy with her test, Charlotte went and changed out of her sleepwear.

=0=0=

"I am Charlotte Silvi, Contractor of the Akashic Records."

Tendrils of darkness came out of her chest, crawling down her arms.

"Devils of the Void, They who embodied Infinity."

The tendrils wove together, strand by strand, becoming a pair of opera gloves. A cold smile forms on her face.

"You who gave humanity a Spark, a light in their Clouded Mind."

Her irises blacken into voids. A few strands of her silver hair turned an abyssal black.

"Anima Pactum - Akashic Reverie."

Charlotte sat down on her bed, eyes glazing around the room. They landed on her arms, feeling the sensation of being peeled alive. In this form, the sludge of curiosity was more powerful, as not even she is exempted from it.

She has to act quickly, be smart, and be flexible. So she closed her eyes, entering the library of humanity. A library so big, so infinite, she would never be able to read it all before the world ends.

"Clothes.", Charlotte spoke in a cold voice.

The library shifted, shelves flew off to the distance, and shelves came closer to her. Shifting and shifting, but the content given was still infinite. In 5 minutes, she would surely die or her arms eaten by Reverie.

"Long sleeves.", the library shifted again. Still too many.

"Comfort.", fewer shelves were present.

"Extremely Durable.", more moved away.

"Flashy.", ten shelves remained.

"Innocent.", four shelves were pushed back.

"Silver color.", a few books flew away.

"Azure color.", another flock is gone.

"Las Vegas."

With the final keyword, only two books remained. One is titled "Ara Caeli", Latin for "Altar in Heaven", and the other is simply called "Provoke". Charlotte picked "Ara Caeli" since the name is far more interesting.

She opened the book, smiling while looking at the amazing outfits depicted in the fashion magazine in the form of a book.

"This one will work nicely...", she softly spoke while smiling, pressing a finger on the specific outfit.

Her eyes opened, clasped her hands together. The image of the clothes is clear in her mind, every single detail about it, every function it has.

"Reverie. Realize. Materialize."

Charlotte loosened her hands, slowly separating them as she let the Reverie goo drip down from her gloves. Weaving itself, creating materials yet to be discovered in this world.

The mass of imagination became white, then silvery. From the blob of pure silver, designs are formed, coming into existence. In 10 seconds, it was finished.

So Charlotte deactivates her Anima Pactum, returning to normal.

Still weird.

She gave a glance at her arms, red patches of blood all over her arms. She used Reverie to clean them, leaving patches of marks.

How long was I in there?

2 minutes~ a total of 2 minutes and 23 seconds for the duration, if you hit the 3 minutes mark, your arms would be covered in blood, by 4 minutes you would have internal bleeding, and if you EVER hit the 5 minutes, your life would be on the line~ Just warning you, my dearest~!

That long, huh?

The price was very high, but that is the price for all the information about humanity. Charlotte felt it was a bit unfair, since Survive's price is much lower, if she ever hit the time limit, she would be in a coma for about a day. For when Charlotte is in her dreamless void, she cannot feel the passage of time.

Charlotte relocated her focus to the clothes on the floor. Carefully picking it up, laying each piece onto her bed. She smiled, happy with her choice of clothes.

An azure blue shirt that seems to be glowing, on it is the eight-pointed star symbol in silver, stitched to a silver jacket that would extend down just below her knees. The jacket itself has blue circuit lines running down its entire body, fazing in and out like a light show. This set also has fingerless gloves, dull gray instead of silver, of course, Charlotte tried them on with excitement clear in her eyes.

The left glove has buttons on it, four of them just under each finger in her palm. Each is color-coded, the index is a blue button, black for the middle finger, purple for her ring finger, and red for her pinky. Charlotte used her thumb to press the blue button, but nothing changed, so she tried the black button. Her shirt changed to black, as well as the circuit lines on her jacket. Pressing the purple one, her color scheme changed to purple. Same as the red button.

This is cool...

She silently giggles at the features of her clothes. Then she moved to the leggings. They have the same silver color as the jacket, and the circuit lines running down on the sides.

(Skipping over undressing because fuck you) - Message brought to you by Akashic Reverie~

Charlotte put on her new clothes. They may look warm, but there is ventilation in her clothes, keeping the internal temperature at a comfortable level. She did a spin, like Silla, to view herself in the mirror.

"I look good.", she nodded to herself.

The sleeves of the jacket are extremely comfortable, she can move freely without any type of restriction. Her leggings tightly hug her legs, which Charlotte really enjoys, and offer enough stretch for her to move freely.

But Charlotte stopped having fun once she heard the door knock, "Little one, are you ready?"

Taking in a deep breath, she answered, "I am."

"Great! Could you go down before me? I got some stuff to work out on.", Silla said before her steps got further away.

Charlotte did not get a chance to answer. She stared down at her left hand, at the buttons, she pressed them all. And the light changes, it changes constantly, smoothly transitioning from one color to the next. RGB.

This is fancy...

But Charlotte turned it off, switching back to blue. Silla told her to be flashy, but RGB is a bit too flashy for the girl.

"Everything is finished...", Charlotte said as she put her phone into the leggings' pocket.
