It’s Scary When Things Work Out

Chapter 13

Standing before these people, I felt no guilt. I didn't shoot immediately because I didn't see the third person in their team. It's very dangerous to let the other side go once I've crossed the line.

Looking at them, under their fearful gaze, I spoke.

"So, whoever answers my questions will survive, and the other will die."

Upon hearing my words, they looked at each other.

"First question, where is your third person who came to my house?"

Asking the question, I thought they would be scared enough to start answering right away. But it seems they're still not scared enough.

Observing them, I suddenly turned my head and looked at the phone in the distance. After thinking for a moment, I raised my gun and began aiming at them.

"The first one to speak will live, the other one I will kill."

It seems the gun still carries weight, so as soon as I finished speaking, one of them started to speak.

"I... I'll say..."

My hand moved aside, and the other person who still hadn't reacted was shot in the head.

"So, where is your third friend?"

The horror in his eyes intensified, and after a few breaths, he began to speak.

"He was supposed to come here, but our boss sent him somewhere else for something. I don't know where he went..."

Approaching him and pointing the gun, I said nothing.

"I really don't know, he was supposed to come... Please, I have a family..."

By now, I was about to shoot him. But suddenly, he said something that made me pause for a moment.

"What did you say?"

Seemingly realizing that his words had an impact, he became pleased and started speaking.

"Yes, please, I have a family. I can't die here... I..."

"Oh, so you have a family then... In exchange for your life, should I take your family?"

As I spoke, understanding how cowardly a person can be when faced with death, I realized that I was no exception...

"Huh?"

Looking at me in shock, I thought he would start pleading and asking for forgiveness.

"Yes!... I'll tell you where they are. You can do whatever you want, just let me go..."

'Bang.'

The bullet went straight through his forehead because I couldn't bear to listen to it anymore.

Getting up from the spot, I sighed and calmed my unsettled mood. I noticed several notifications, but there was no time to check them now.

Looking around, I wondered how I would find the third bastard. Remembering where these people came from, I went inside and saw scattered belongings. Taking men's clothes, I rummaged through them to find a phone.

Finally, after gathering all the phones, I started checking them. Unfortunately, they were all locked. But after some thought, I found a bag, threw all the phones in there, closed it, and headed towards the exit.

Suddenly, instinctively feeling something, I turned around, and my eyes fell on an empty cartridge I had dropped on the floor. Retrieving it and taking it with me, I covered myself and left with my hood up.

After some time, I emerged from the closet, looking around. It was very likely that other people would come here, as there was a phone conversation that hadn't been disconnected. And according to the information, the third bastard should have come here too.

Pressing the button to check the bullets in the pistol, some extreme thoughts that were forming in my head were dismissed.

As it turned out, even though they had only one weapon, there was no guarantee that the other side would come here empty-handed. Besides, I wasn't physically strong enough, although my skills were a great help.

For a moment, I felt irritation due to my lack of knowledge about what to do in this situation.

There was no other way, so I headed towards the registration desk. Still covering my face, I approached the woman who was engrossed in her phone.

She didn't notice me, so I went around her and placed the gun against her head.

"Move, and you'll die. Now quickly tell me where the observation room is in this hotel."

She was very frightened by this sudden situation, so it wasn't difficult to extract the details. With a hit from the pistol butt, she lost consciousness. I dragged her to the back room and then headed in the opposite direction to where the man was pulling me.

Soon, a staircase leading upstairs came into view. Climbing up, I saw a person standing near a window, gazing outside.

Taking cautious steps forward, I noticed a baton on his belt. Getting closer, I executed the same trick with the butt, grabbing his head, causing him to fall to the ground and hiss. It seemed that the force of the blow was not enough.

Delivering another kick straight to his face, he lost consciousness. Looking at the door, I stepped inside without hesitation.

Another man was lying asleep in front of the monitors. This worked in my favor; apparently, they weren't overly cautious.

Approaching closer, I noticed something—besides all the cameras throughout the hotel, there was also a camera for the secret room. Unlike the other screens, it was small, probably because he didn't notice it while sleeping and no one had entered from outside.

Examining the system in front of me, I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. After thinking for a moment, I kicked the screen displaying the hidden room, causing a noise that awakened the guard. Pointing the gun at him, I spoke.

"Erase all the recordings, or your brain will be on the floor."

"Who the fuck are you?"

He tried to escape from this situation, clearly having the courage to fight. But another hand with a knife swiftly and accurately moved towards his thigh.

"I won't repeat it."

Amidst his muffled screams, I continued. Realizing that I wasn't joking, he quickly started unlocking the system and, entering the password, displayed all the records and said with a choked voice.

"Here... all... the records."

"Delete them..."

Under my gaze, all the records disappeared, and finally, the man collapsed unconscious from another blow.

Resolving the situation, I stepped forward, gripping some cables and forcefully pulling them towards me.

The wires gradually tore apart, causing the cameras to start disconnecting. With a strike, I opened the computer case and looked inside, finding the hard drive and kicking it.

But the effect was minimal. After some thought, I aimed the gun at the hard drive and fired.

There was significant damage. Without hesitation, I turned around and rushed outside.

As I descended, I could hear the sounds of running and loud voices in the distance. Looking at the window, I quickly opened it and jumped out. Fortunately, it wasn't a high window, so I landed safely on the ground without any harm and ran towards the dark streets. Passing through several streets and making sure I wasn't being followed, I finally headed towards the subway.

...............

I exited the subway, holding onto my pocket and trying to think if I could find the third asshole through my phone.

While walking through the dimly lit streets, I cautiously observed my surroundings. Gradually, my pounding heart began to calm down.

Now, there were two things left to do: find the third culprit and accomplish the objective without exposing my data.

Soon, a familiar building appeared before me. However, as I was about to ascend, I suddenly noticed someone approaching from the other side of the street. It was Isabella, but she looked distressed this time. Fortunately, I had previously checked if there were any bloodstains or other evidence on me, but found nothing. The blow from that person had landed on my stomach, so everything seemed fine on the surface, except for slight breathlessness.

I started waiting for her to get closer, thinking that I needed to resolve the problems as quickly as possible so that I could make her happy.

It seemed that the other party had also noticed me, and soon she came up to me. Without saying anything directly, she began to ascend. Judging by her facial expression, the meeting with friends hadn't gone well.

Feeling my breathing return to normal and glancing at the status window, I also followed her upstairs.
