"So~" She was about to speak but the the sound of approaching footsteps interrupted her making us all glance over.

"I'm sorry am I interrupting" I heard a deep voice and frowned when Leon appeared with his a guilty face and his hands in his pockets.

"Ye~" I tried to speak but was cut off by my mother who gave me an expression as if telling me not to be rude.

"No you're fine we were just talking" She waved her hand before smiling at Leon with a thinking face.

"…Leon right?" My mother asked trying not to get it wrong and her face brightened up when he nodded.

"Yes but I didn't catch your name" Leon walked over standing between the couches with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh please call be Isabella" My mother said making me frown as I glanced at the dark skinned man.

"it's a pleasure Isabella" Leon smirked and gave my mother a charming smile that looked fake from my preceptive. 

"Why don't you join us" My mother offered gesturing for him to take a seat before I could tell her not to.

'Damn it' My mood plummeted as Leon nodded and sat down just beside my mother and across from me.

"You said you became my son's companion recently?" My mother asked with interest as she shifted her body toward him politely giving him the spotlight.

"Yes a few months ago" Leon smiled at her while giving me a glance and letting out a deep sigh.

"It's truly been a joy joining the hero's party" His voice was filled with emotions but I could see the glint in his eye.

'…' I calmed myself down not letting him get to me as I sat back against the couch.

"Well I'm thankful my son has such close companions" My mother smiled giving me a gentle that I hesitantly returned not wanting her to realize my annoyance.

"What did you do before?" She asked not bothering to hide her curiosity.

"I was just a small time adventurer" Leon said waving his hand with what I could only see as fake humbleness. 

"I see" My mother nodded before she glanced at Evelyn with narrowed eyes and an expression as if not understanding something.

"You know I'm still quite confused about those outfits that the girls are wearing" Her words made me flinch but I calmed down realizing she wasn't suspicious and just genuinely curious:

"Is it really a fashion trend in the east" She asked and Leon looked to me as if wanting me to answer the question.

"…Yes mother it is" I didn't want to tell her the truth so I could only continue with the lie. 

"Isn't it uncomfortable?" My mother asked Evelyn who looked embarrassed as she shook her head.

"N~no mom you get used to it" She stuttered a bit and gave Leon a weak glare that he ignored not bothered.
