I didn't get far though as breakfast continued with the sound of chatter and laughter filling the room. "Have fun" I waved at the three women who disappeared from the dining area leaving only our small little family.

"Don't you have plans to attend?" My mother glanced toward my father with an expression as if telling him to get lost.

'Are they having relationship trouble' I thought seeing our father look at mother with a sigh before standing up.

"I'll excuse myself" He said nodding toward us before walking away while me and Evelyn shared a confused look.

My parents were never affectionate toward each other when I was growing up they still acted like a married couple.
