My Life in Multiverse

Ch 36 – Light vs Dark (1)

Behind him was Valtos, draped in his Eye of the Midnight Sun's outfit, staring at Alex with a worried expression.

Around them dozens of light swords were hovering in the air, ready to strike at Alex and everyone else.

"So, you're finally here to rescue your sacrifice, huh, Patolli?" Alex grinned and stared at the elf, his grip tightening around his blade's hilt, ready to strike at any given moment.

The elf flinched for a moment before he resumed in a smile. "You're mistaken. I'm... the leader of Eye of the Midnight Sun... Licht!"

*Pfft-!*

Alex chuckled, controlling his laughter. He summoned his grimoire and displayed it to him. "Fool someone else Patolli. If you're Licht then why is your grimoire in my possession, huh?!"

"You!..." Patollo was momentarily startled, staring at the grimoire.

Alex grinned and pointed the massive sword at him. "You recognize it, right? This is Licht's grimoire and this is his Demon Slayer!"

"That Grimoire is not yours! Return it back!" Patolli gritted his teeth, completely opposite to his previous confident and calm expression.

Alex smirked and teased as he deflected another light sword, mocking him. "Hmph! You want it? Then take it if you can! A mere loser like you who can't even protect your kind, do you think you can kill me? Don't make me laugh!"

"You bastard!..." Patollo lost his cool and screamed at Alex as he charged a massive ball of light, shooting for Alex.

Alex grinned at the incoming attack, unfazed by it.

"Asta, look out!!" Gauche shouted from behind.

Even Teresa was surprised, watching him not moving an inch.

However, just when it looked like the attack would hit, a portal opened in front of Alex, and a katana appeared from it, cutting the incoming attack.

Alex grinned and said. "You're finally here, Captain Yami!"

Yep, a bulky man stepped out from the portal, taking a puff of his cigarette.

"I'm surprised that even you needed to ask for help." Yami stared at Patolli and continued. "He doesn't seem that much to me."

Alex smiled, not offended. "Haha... and here I was generous enough to gift you the person who harmed Captain Fuegoleon so you can kill him."

"Really? So he is the one." Instantly, Yami's demeanor changed from relaxed and funny to serious and enraged. It only took him a second.

On the other side, Valtos was a little taken aback by the appearance of Yami and Finral. He turned to Patolli and asked.

"He is the Captain of the Black Bulls. Should I call them?"

"No." Patolli chuckled, a little excited. "He is a Dark Magic user. I've been wanting to fight him."

While the four of them were chatting, Finral escorted the children and Theresa through his portal, sending them to safety.

He wanted to leave too, but Yami threatened him to return once he was done.

Yami and Patolli exchanged a few moves with no one coming out on top. They both seemed equal in terms of strength.

Alex watched the exchange with a smile, especially the part where they both shared a story of their lives with each other.

He had to say Yami was really quite a fun character to be around with.

"Dark Magic: Dark Coated Lightless Slash!"

Soon, Yami got serious as he shot a powerful flying slash at Patolli which was quite fast as it was able to slash his cheeks.

"Master Licht!" Valtos screamed in worry, startled by Yami's ability to hurt his master.

Yami raised his katana and pointed it at Patolli, speaking with a malevolent expression.

"Enough of the chit-chat! You're able to harm Fuegoleon because of some cheap tricks. Face me directly! Let me show you the power a Magic Knight Captain possesses!"

Patolli narrowed his eyes as he felt cold over his cheek with blood flowing, dying his white outfit.

Valtos sweated as he stared at Yami, lost in thoughts.

'He blocked Master Licht's attacks and even counter-attacked... The Captain of the Black Bulls... Does his power rival the Wizard King?'

"I see." Patolli smiled and turned over the page in his grimoire, using a recovery spell to heal his wound.

Yami and Patolli went to action again, attacking and countering each other spells.

Valtos who was watching everything from the sideline, became impatient and raised his hand, wanting to help his master.

But before he could, a flying slash arrived in front of his face, aiming to cut him in half.
Valtos quickly jumped to the side, dodging it.

"Oye, keep your nose out of this fight, or else I'll kill you!"

A cold and malicious voice echoed in the cave, sending chills down everyone's spine.

Raising his head, Valtos saw Alex glaring at him with his eyes brimming with killing intent. He instantly shivered with his back drenched in sweat. He still remembered the terror of the young boy.

'I completely forget about him. Fuck! He is a freaking demon... I do not want to fight him...'

Alex dashed at Valtos, sending another flying slash.

"Aahhh!" Valtos screamed in horror and opened a portal to teleport away.

But when he emerged a few meters away, he saw Alex already charging at him with the Demon Slayer in his hand.

'Fuck! H-How... Just how does he...'

*Boom*

Alex swung the giant sword and slammed it into the spatial magic user, sending him flying and hitting the wall on the opposite side.

"Hmph! I hate trash who get in the way."

Putting the massive sword on his shoulder, Alex snorted coldly

"Valtos?!..." Patolli who was having a showdown with the Captain of the Black Bulls was forced to turn his head and look at his subordinate.

His smile disappeared replaced with a manicing expression. He glared at Alex and Yami, speaking in a threatening tone.

"How dare you... harm Valtos?!"

Alex chuckled at his reaction, mocking. "Drop your act! Like hell, you care about the life of a human. He is nothing more than a sacrifice to you anyway."

Patolli was visibly startled, his eyes widening in shock. Nobody should know about it and yet Alex revealed his plan bare in front of him. He glared in hatred and raised his hand, ready to deal with both Alex and Yami for good.

"Light Creation Magic: Lightning Whip of Judgement!"

The spell resembled a whip which was pretty difficult to predict and it instantly devastated the entire cave, causing it to fall down on everyone.

Patolli shielded Valtos behind him and chucked in delight.

"Oops... I held back so much and yet... they all are really so fragile. This world... and you fools..."

"Amazing Master Licht! Your strength is practically divine!" Valtos was like a devotee admiring his god with stars in his eyes. "If you feel like it, Master. The magic knights will be nothing in front of-"

*Boom*
