My Life in Multiverse

Ch 37 – Light vs Dark (2)

His words got stuck in his throat by a loud voice and much to his horror, he saw Alex and Yami standing up from the rubble.

Alex stretched his muscles and smiled. "Ah, thanks for that. My muscles were a little stiff."

"W-What?!" Valtos stared at them with a dumbfounded expression, unable to believe that the two of them were still alive.

"What's with that face?" Alex raised his eyebrow and mocked. "Do you seriously think that such a weak attack can take us out? Don't make me laugh!"

"You!..." Valtos wanted to tear apart Alex for his insulting behaviour but he was still aware of his limit, aware that he was no match at all.

Yami cracked his neck, grinning. "Alright. It's time to get serious!"

Instantly, he released a massive amount of mana, creating a large cloak of darkness behind him before he charged at Patolli.

Patolli was surprised by his sudden burst of strength and dodged quickly.

Yami's katana touched the ground and instantly destroyed a large area.

*Boom*

Patolli appeared above Yami and launched his attack. Multiple orbs of light charged at Yami, aiming to blast him to bits.

But Yami swung his sword and released a big pitch-black slash which not only sucked the white orbs but completely neutralized Patolli's light magic.

Patolli narrowed his eyes, staring at the slash working like a black hole.

'Hmm... as I thought... his magic sucks my light magic! So this is the power of the Dark Magic!'

Yami didn't stop and jumped at Patolli as the duo engaged in a weird conversation while fighting each other.

Alex chuckled watching them fight as it was like an action movie scene with explosions going on around the place.

Valtos glanced at Alex and saw a chance as he opened a portal close to Yami to distract him with a mana bullet. But before he could even launch it, a cold and malicious voice whispered in his ear, sending a shiver down his spine.

He felt like he had been entrapped into a jar filled with water and he was drowning in it, unable to breathe at all.

"Didn't I tell you to not put your nose where it doesn't belong?!"

*Boom!*

Alex caught the minute change in the mana as he warped in front of Valtos, slamming his fist into his face.

Valtos flew like a missile launched from the RPG, burying into the opposite wall. A single punch and he instantly lost his consciousness, unable to react at all.

Yami paused in the middle of his fight, laughing. "Hahaha... goid job, kid. You should have done it sooner."

"Careless!" Patolli mocked as he flashed behind Yami and summoned the same whip attack, aiming for Yami's defenseless back.

But Yami was just fooling him as he turned his hand, grinning. "That would be you!"

Patolli was startled as he saw a giant orb of dark magic floating in front of Yami which sucked the entire whip of his light magic.

'It absorbed my magic!... and I can move!' Patolli was caught off-guard, finding himself locked by a weird force.

"Dark Magic: Dark Coated Dark Blade!" Yami grabbed the chance and swung his blade coated in the dark mana at Patolli, landing a massive hit on the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun.

Patolli pulled some distance between him and Yami, smiling. "You got me good!"

"About five meters... that would be the range... but to think there is a magic that could absorb my own magic and stop me from moving..." He raised his head and looked at Yami with a satisfied expression. "Dark magic... sure is amazing! The one attribute... that's the only counter of my light magic!"

"But I have already wasted enough time already. It's time to wrap it up!" Patolli smiled and summoned a massive ball of light, gathering more and more mana, aiming to wipe out everything in the vicinity with his spell.

Yami furrowed his brows, feeling slightly threatened by that spell.

Alex grinned and picked up his blade, walking at the front.

"Let me deal with this one, Captain!"

Yami glanced at his back and took a puff of his cigarette. "Fine. But make sure to not die, kid!"

Alex smirked and tightened his grip. Instantly his eyes sparkled with a red glint as his sword was enveloped into a scarlet aura.

Yami raised his eyebrow as he could feel the terrifying might this attack could cause.

Once Alex launched it, it would deal massive damage, capable of devastating half of a city.

It really surprised the Captain of the Black Bulls by surprise.

'Hmm, it seems I'm still looking down on the kid. He has grown tremendously since our last encounter. Even I cannot take this move with my current strength!... Just what has he experienced to reach this level?!'

In the meantime, Patolli had expanded the ball of mana to a big size.

"I have kept you waiting. My apologies. This is the end."

"Captain, watch this. Maybe you will be able to do it too." Alex grinned and brought down his blade vertically.

'Chaos Magic: Chaos-Coated Absolute Annihilation!"

*Whoosh-!*

A massive red slash cut the ball of light along with the space itself in half.

The slash was so fast and huge that it seemed to cut even the sky itself.

Yami couldn't help but watch in astonishment as the cigarette fell down from his mouth. His eyes were shot open with his mouth agape, as he continued to gaze at the sight in front.

The entire place was enshrouded in deathly silence as the red slash devoured the light, completely annihilating it.

"Aahhh!!" A shrill destroyed that silence as Patolli screamed in pain.

Yami raised his hand and saw him holding his left shoulder which was missing an arm.
It sent another astonishment to the Captain of the Black Bulls.

"Close your mouth. It doesn't suit your personality." Alex stared ahead and said to Yami who was still staring at everything with a dumbfounded expression.

"W-Wha... What the hell was that move just now? You literally shredded the guy and his spell completely." Yami in his typical fashion, patted his head, laughing. He stared at Alex and grinned widely.

'The kid has turned into a full-fledged abomination!... What a luck to get my hand on him!...'

"What the hell happened here?" Finral who had just returned with Gauche muttered out in shock.

Gauche looked around and asked. "Where did that massive spell go?... And what was that red magic? It feels so eerie!..."

Just thinking about it sent a shiver down his spine.

Yami glanced at them and addressed them with a bored expression. "Ah, you guys are late."

Gauche and Finral were dumbfounded by his words.

Yami then focused his attention on Patolli, lighting up another cigarette.

"Anyway, we're taking you back to Magic Knight Headquarters and you're gonna tell us all about your organizations. Now that hot-blooded King of Hardnoses will be able to rest in peace."
