“Oops! I Prepped for the Apocalypse and Became a Zombie”

Chapter 25: Want to Know More?

A young man wearing designer clothes and a green Rolex watch, surrounded by several people, seemed to have regained his composure. He smarmily offered a cigarette, "Bros, you'll definitely protect us and get us home safely, right? Seeing you in combat uniforms, you must be sent by the government to protect us? When will you take us back?"

He introduced himself as Yang Cong, saying his father owned a big company and was very rich. If they prioritized getting him home, he would definitely reward them generously.

He even disgustingly lowered his voice and said, "Hey, let me tell you, those girls are all here to play with me. If you safely get me home, you can have fun with them however you want!"

He finished with a lewd smile, his tone extremely lascivious.

Qin Luo glanced at him and asked with a cold smile, "Where do you live?"

Yang Cong thought this military brother was interested, and immediately said with a fawning smile, "I live in K City! You know San Yang Trading? That's my old man's company, very famous! Everyone in K City knows it!"

Qin Luo smiled and said, "Oh? I know it, but buddy, K City has already fallen. The last batch of survivors was evacuated just yesterday. It's an empty city now. Also, buddy, do you know about the crime of prostitution?"

"Luring, harboring, introducing, or using other benefits to induce others into prostitution, etc. You could be charged with organizing prostitution, which carries a sentence of 5 to 10 years in prison, understand?"

This educational moment was incredibly cool.

Yang Cong's face turned from green to white, as if constipated.

Bai Shu and Wang Weihu both laughed. Chen Xiaofei had finally managed to shake off that girl and quickly ran back to get away, thoroughly frightened by her.

After his explanation, Qin Luo put on a fierce expression. Holding a tablet, he pointed at the group of unruly young people, six or seven men and women, and ordered them to sit properly.

His own righteous demeanor made this group look even more like a mess in comparison.

"Listen up, the world outside is no longer the world you remember. This isn't a movie set, it's not a joke. Everyone needs to be serious. This concerns your personal safety, understand?"

Qin Luo told them, "We're not the search and rescue team responsible for this area. We have our own mission. Now, I can give you two options."

"One, stay here at the service area. We'll contact headquarters to see if any team has taken on the mission for this area. Even if not, we can arrange for someone to come pick you up and take you to the nearest survivor base."

The survivors were tempted upon hearing this, all expressing their willingness.

Qin Luo ignored them and continued, "The downside is, because it's the apocalypse now, even though the zombies here have been cleared out, there are still other mutant creatures that could threaten your safety."

The survivors' faces fell again.

"Two, find someone among you who can drive and is brave enough to come with us. If we encounter other combat teams completing missions and returning, you can go with them to the nearest survivor base."

"The advantage is that we'll protect you, but the situation on the road is unknown."

"However, I can guarantee we'll do our best to protect your personal safety. Our team can even spare two people to ride in the same car with you."

Qin Luo demanded that if they wanted to follow them, they had to behave themselves on the road. Otherwise, they wouldn't need to wait for zombies or monsters to kill them - he would do it himself!

His fierce demeanor was so scary that it made the survivors hesitate.

There was no choice.

The first principle of headquarters and all bases was - Never compromise with the apocalypse, never abandon any human.

They didn't come here specifically for search and rescue. They originally just wanted to find a place to rest, but since they encountered these people, they couldn't ignore them. They had to help.

Unless they brought it on themselves.

Qin Luo had no intention of helping those who didn't deserve it. Bad people didn't need to exist in this world.

Xu Duoduo looked at these people as they struggled with the decision. The atmosphere was a bit tense until Wang Weihu stepped in, distributing apocalypse survival manuals to them - paper versions, since ordinary electronic devices were completely unusable now.

Qin Luo also handed over the task to Wang Weihu, as he hated dealing with these troublesome negotiations.

With the survival manual, at least they could have a clearer understanding of the apocalypse. After all, they had been locked in here since it started. The service area was brightly lit, and with several doors closed and no internet, these people really had no idea what was happening outside.

They were quite lucky, thanks largely to the quick reaction of the middle-aged couple.

Qin Luo was quite polite to the couple and asked for more details. The couple was originally from L City, and had come here to run the cafeteria to make money. They never expected to encounter the apocalypse. It was truly lamentable.

The man was called Zhao Gang, and his wife was Liu Chunhui. They were both honest, hardworking, and kind-hearted people. They expressed that they would prefer to go with Qin Luo's team.

"I can drive! My wife can too. We used to drive trucks for freight transport! If the car breaks down, I can fix it too. As long as you're willing to take our family of three, that's fine. That's our daughter, called Xiao Ya. She just turned eight this year. We don't have any other relatives."

Zhao Gang said it would be good enough if their family of three could stay together. Staying here was too dangerous, and they didn't know when a team would come to pick them up.

Liu Chunhui also nodded, "I can cook too, and do any kind of work! I'm not afraid to fight those crazy people! A few days ago when we ran out of medicine, the weather was good, and I saw through the door crack that those biting maniacs were slower during the day. I went out once to get medicine."

She said she was brave and dared to fight them, and finally mentioned that she had even slaughtered pigs before.

This couple was too honest.

Qin Luo and his team all smiled. Xu Duoduo was also secretly watching from the side.

Liu Chunhui noticed Xu Duoduo too. Worried that they might not want to take just their family of three, she quickly added, "Is that young lady not feeling well? I see her complexion isn't good. It would be nice for our daughter to keep her company! Don't look down on our girl because of her age, she's very good at taking care of people!"

After hearing this, how could they have the heart not to take this family of three?

Bai Shu smiled and said, "Don't worry, as long as you're willing to come, we'll take you along for the journey."

Hearing this, Qin Luo also smiled and glanced at Xu Duoduo. Xu Duoduo felt a bit embarrassed. She didn't need anyone to take care of her, so she shook her head in protest at Qin Luo, indicating that she could manage on her own and was very capable.

"She doesn't need anyone to take care of her. Your family of three just needs to look after yourselves."

Qin Luo said this to them, then asked Zhao Gang a couple more questions. With this experienced driver, the safety of their family of three would greatly improve. Moreover, the couple's spirit was admirable.

Full of energy and hope - that's what's needed to survive. In the apocalypse, the most dangerous thing is people with fragile minds.
