Refusing My God’s Advances

Chapter 91: Demon Sequence, Stage 1

The thing that I held in my arms as I sat on my bed was no longer Lyra, but a spinning ball of black and red energy. The moment she had burst with the energy, it had sucked into this two-foot diameter orb I now held in my hands. It had no temperature, nor did it weigh very much, it was just a ball in my hands.

Even scanning using my Identity, I got a message that just said there was nothing available. It had been five minutes at this point when I started to get worried, but like an answer to my thoughts, I got a notification.

[Demon Princess Lrya has received the Mark of Love. This changes her Sequence, and because you are her chosen one, you may choose from the following three evolutions.]

Evolution Tree: Esmeralda Sequence

First Sequence: (Common)Emerald Princess

Description: Encode DNA to the Esmeralda Sequence which gives access to all Healing, Cure, Dispel, and Barrier spells at current Sequence. Healing Affinity increases per Sequence. Become Immune to Dark, Curse, Hex, and Plague magic.

Evolution Tree: Glacia Sequence

First Sequence: (Common)Sapphire Princess

Description: Encode DNA to the Glacia Sequence which gives access to all Ice, Frost, and Freeze spells at current Sequence. Ice Affinity increases per Sequence. Become Immune to Fire, Heat, and Burn magic.

Evolution Tree: Pyra Sequence

First Sequence: (Common)Ruby Princess

Description: Encode DNA to the Pyra Sequence which gives access to all Fire, Heat, and Burn spells at current Sequence. Fire Affinity increases per Sequence. Become Immune to Ice, Frost, and Freeze magic.

[System Note: Choose wisely, as the evolution will affect not only her abilities but also her appearance and personality. The Mark of Love grants her the potential for immense growth, and her evolution will follow this chosen path. The more you care for her, the stronger your bond becomes, but she will also become stronger. P.S. I added a bonus since I have caused you quite a bit of grief in a short amount of time.]

While I wanted to look at the evolutions first, the System Note drew my attention. The first part seemed normal, but then it started to get more personal. Then the P.S. at the end made my eyes peel back.

"Is this the He that everyone talks about?" I asked myself, but got no response, but I didn't expect one.

I just found it strange that the big guy who picked me chose to speak to me now. Even more, it was to apologize, but I wondered what the bonus could be. I wished I got a chance to ask him why me, but I guess I already knew the answer. Elara had said as much. My desire for my own peace was so strong, that it basically made me the perfect tool.

After my talk with Garland, I was starting to think that the weaver was right, as much as it chaffed my ass cheeks to even think! Everyone seemed to think I was their pawn, and the harder I tried to ignore it, the more trouble searched me out. Regardless, I didn't need to be thinking these negative thoughts right now. I had a woman I loved trapped in this ball of energy, waiting for me to make a choice.

Sighing, I shook my head, then stared at the three options in front of me, each offering a different path for Lyra's evolution. As I looked over them, I couldn't help but notice something that made me chuckle to myself. The colors for the evolutions were green, blue, and red, and Lyra was kind of in her starter stage. Now, if I only had a professor here, it would all fit so well...

Letting out a laugh, I sighed and focused back on the evolutions. The Esmeralda Sequence, focused on healing, the Glacia Sequence, centered around ice magic, and the Pyra Sequence, emphasized fire abilities. It was a tough decision, as each path had its advantages.

I thought about Lyra's personality, her preferences, and the situations we have faced so far. Healing would be my go-to, but I didn't feel like it was really her style. Considering how much she liked to talk, and her energetic personality, Ice wasn't a good fit either. In the end, I made my decision.

"Lyra, I choose you! The Pyra Sequence," I said aloud, feeling a mix of anticipation and curiosity about what this evolution would bring.

As soon as I spoke the words, the black and red orb in my hands began to pulse with fiery energy. The room was filled with warmth as the transformation took place. The orb expanded, forming a humanoid shape within the flames.

In a dazzling burst of light and heat, Lyra emerged from the transformation, now embodying the Pyra Sequence. Her appearance had changed, her once celestial robes replaced by a fiery outfit that flickered like flames. Her wings now had a fiery glow, and her eyes shimmered with the intensity of burning embers.

Lyra stood before me, a radiant and powerful presence. I could feel the heat emanating from her, a symbol of the Pyra Sequence's influence. Best of all, she was almost 5 feet tall! What a sexy burning shortie!

"Wow, Leon! This feels incredible!" Lyra exclaimed, her voice carrying a fiery enthusiasm.

I couldn't help but smile, as I jumped up to scoop her up into my arms. I didn't care if she lit me on fire, but her clothing just felt warm as Lyra giggled and hugged me back. I was beyond impressed by the transformation.

"This is so amazing! Finally, after 100 years, I am free to grow!" Lyra cheered, and then the door to my room burst open, and girls rushed into my room like a herd of cats.

Shelli, Aria, Mary, Danielle, and Scarlet all came rushing in with red races, cheering for Lyra. I, for my part, still had no clothes on, and Lyra wiggled out of my arms to cheer with the girls.

It was a heartwarming sight for sure, but I was having trouble looking for my pants, feeling pretty tired suddenly. I stumbled towards the bed, and flopped face down, as I tried to fight the creeping inevitable exhaustion coming for me. Whatever I had done to help Lyra, It had sucked me dry in more than one way.
