Refusing My God’s Advances

Chapter 92: Girl War Talk

Lyra was the first one to notice that Leon had passed out, and she went to check on him, but Mary stopped her.

"He has depleted most of his Magical Power, but he will get better in the morning," Mary explained, and then focused on Lyra. "How does it feel? I have heard legends of other Sequences, but it is clear that they are more than legends."

Lyra looked down at her hand, and a ball of fire formed in it, and then three more appeared around her hand. Those four broke into sixteen, but when Lyra tried again, the spell broke.

"I have way more control now, and I can summon fire without a magical circle. I have only just had this power for a moment, but I can feel my own potential is really big!" Lyra laughed but then looked at the sleeping Leon with a fond look. "It is all thanks to him. The hero that was supposed to kill me, fell in love with me instead and took me into his heart. I will spend the rest of my existence beside him, just like you, Mary."

"I don't plan on dying either!" Danielle declared suddenly, making the girls all look at her. "What?! Aria, you are a human, so you get it, right? These demons, even the angel, all are immortal! They are talking about spending their entire existence with them! Are you just going to take that?!"

Aria tipped her head at her, and then Mary laughed. "I am the only thing that can kill Aria, and once Leon Soul Binds me to himself, she will be just as immortal as the rest of us, I mean, except for you. Even Scarlet, and Ashagan, when she gets a body, are immortal as long as Leon and his Magic exist."

Danielle stared at Aria for a moment, then scowled at Mary. "Fine, I will just find the path to immortality by myself!"

Mary laughed. "You needn't worry. When Leon reaches Godhood, he can just grant you immortality."

Danielle frowned. "Is it really that easy, and you think he will become that strong?"

Shelli spoke up. "Leon will rule over this world one day, and there will be peace. Of this, I have no doubt."

Mary smiled and nodded. "I agree with the angel."

"Are you going to sleep with Leon next?" Lyra asked, pulling on Mary's new black dress Leon had made for her, but the fox spirit shook her head sadly.

"As much as I finally think I know it is what I want, I will have to wait like Aria. For now, Leon isn't strong enough to handle me in bed, and if you are any indication, I could go through a similar evolution to my Sequence. If that is the case, Leon will need to be much closer, if not the same level as me before we could even try safely," May explained, and Aria patted her shoulder.

"I know how you feel, but I am sure that Leon will start progressing faster," Aria said with a smile, and Mary nodded but then looked at Danielle.

"You said we have five days before the East and North reach the Reshan Border, right?" Mary asked, and Danielle nodded, straightening up.

"Yes. Over 10,000 human ground troops with another 20,000 demons in the air and on the ground. They would be moving faster, but they have five caged Epic-Rated Abyssal demons they are transporting. There are also five Subject Black Demons with 10 human Dark Sorcerers," Danielle paused, her expression serious. "It's going to be a tough battle."

Mary sighed. "We need to prepare. Leon needs rest, but we can start strategizing. We'll have to coordinate with the other territories as well. The Reshan Border is a crucial point, and if we lose it, the demons will have a direct path to the heart of our lands."

“Will they call Aria back?” Danielle asked, but Aria shook her head.

“I will be on standby, but I will only help if we have no chance of winning. Even then, the damage I would cause would be irreparable, and the border would cease to exist there. I have contemplated just wiping the East and North out, but I don’t know if I could beat Tabitha. I am stronger than her, but she has more powerful summons than I do,” Aira explained, and Danielle nodded.

“I forget just how powerful you are sometimes, but I didn’t know that Tabitha was strong enough to give you pause,” Danielle said quietly, and Mary clicked her tongue.

The only reason she is that strong is because she is not even human anymore. Halcon has modified Tabitha’s body so much that there is barely a scrap of living tissue left on the once-human girl. The only reason her summons are so strong is because of all the artifacts implanted in her body. All of her is man-made tech and magic,” Mary growled, hating the way the Halcon Empire treated all their people.

"Do you think five days will be enough time for Leon to prepare? There is no way he will let you guys go without him, right?" Lyra asked, making everyone go quiet. "He already knows about the war."

Mary turned in shock, her mind racing to figure out how he could have learned about this. "How does he know?"

"Garland came and told him," Lyra said, and Mary bit her lip. She was hoping that they could take care of it in secret, but with Leon knowing, there was no way he would let everyone from Reshan go without him.

"Well, this changes things, and since we have that other Homeless Virgin hero, Leon is really going to have to focus on training," Mary declared and looked at each of the girls. "We are all going to have to become busy over the next few days so Leon is forced to focus on his training. Daryle can stop spending time with Rosily and tag along with him. The rest of us will prepare for war."

Danielle tapped her chin for a moment and then looked at Mary. "Whatever happened to that hero girl? Misty was her name?"

"She is tied to a tree outside," Mary said calmly, and the other girls except Lyra flinched.

"What?! Why did you tie her to the tree?!" Danielle exclaimed, and Mary crossed her arms.

"I caught her trying to sneak into the demon's long house where they live now. I am surprised the girls had the gull to try after feeling a bit of Aria's power. Still, if she is going to stay here, she is going to have to learn to follow the rules and the consequences," Mary said and then left the room.
