Refusing My God’s Advances

Chapter 95: Love, Laughter, and Limits

"Rosily, is there something you'd like to tell me?" Danielle asked, her tone stern.

Rosily fidgeted with her glasses, looking down at the floor. "Well, you see, um... Daryle and I..."

As Rosily's words trailed off, Daryle tried to get between them, but his sister just shoved him in the same direction, sending him flying.

Danielle let out a sigh and then took the shaking Rosily's hand in hers. "Look. I know you have been sleeping with my brother, but it doesn't bother me anymore. Just stop hiding from your work from now on. There is a war coming, and we have a lot of work to do on the projects we have started. I still care about my brother, so if you hurt him, I will kill you."

Rosily looked up at Danielle and nodded. "I promise not to, but can you please let go of my hands. You are hurting them."

Danielle released Rosily's hands with a nod, her expression softening slightly. "Just remember, family comes first. Now, let's get back to work. We have a lot to do."

Daryle, who had been nervously standing to the side, scratched his head and spoke up, "Yeah, sis, we'll get back to work. Thanks for understanding."

"You are going with Leon. He is taking the Virgin Hero with him to train today, so you can go and supervise them. Everyone else is going to be busy for the next few days. I let you and Rosily spend some alone time, but war is coming," Danielle warned, and Daryle sighed, but then gave his sister a hug that clearly surprised her.

"Thank you, sister. It means a lot to me to see you accept my relationship with Rosily!" Daryle said, and Danielle hugged him back.

"It would be weird for me to be acting like I did considering how much Leon and I have been kissing. Looks like I will be sneaking into his bed tonight inside," Danielle laughed as she left her brother to look back at me. "I will be going to my lab now. Stop by before you leave so I can steal another kiss and give Misty a weapon."

I watched Danielle go with a smile, dreamily thinking about last night at my desk as I turned back to Daryle. My dream bubble popped as I saw the annoyed look on his face.

"Really? You sure move fast," Daryle said with a hint of acid, making me smirk.

"Would you prefer her to be sneaking into your bed tonight?" I asked with a grin, and Daryle flinched. "You have gotten awfully comfortable now that you have the girl that you want. Don't worry, I will take good care of your sister. I am more worried for any other woman that tries to join our group!”

Daryle burst out laughing, but I just shifted my grip on the still-sleeping Lyra and gave him a look. "The limit has been set, according to Danielle. Not that I am complaining, but I just hope she doesn't get the wrong idea sometimes. Things could get pretty dicey after our conversation we had last night."

"Well, if Danielle is happy, then so am I. You really fixed my problem, so I owe you greatly, brother. Ha! Soon you will actually be my brother! isn't that rich, but I won't lose to you! I am going to get married to Rosily before you marry Danielle! You might beat me in levels, but you will never beat me in love!" Daryle declared, and I scratched my head.

"Bro, I have like 6, almost 7 girlfriends. I feel like I might have defeated you there. I also lost my virginity before you..." I explained, but then trailed off as I realized my words were physically attacking him.

Daryle slumped to the ground and picked up a stick to start drawing with it. "You're such an asshole."

I laughed, and Lyra cuddled into me. "I promise that I will let you get married before me, okay?"

Daryle looked up at me. "You really mean it?"

"Hell, even if a king offers to marry me, I will tell him that you have to go first!" I laughed, and Daryle smiled and stood back up.

"Deal, but what are you going to do with that demon? Is Lyra coming with you to train?" He asked, and I leaned down to kiss the white hair on the top of her head with a chuckle.

"I just had her in my arms when I came to answer the door. She sleeps so soundly and is cute to carry around, so I don't even want to put her down," I smiled, and Daryle sighed.

"The life of a lazy hero. You really put in the maximum effort to be able to enjoy the most minimal effort," he said, shaking his head, and I snorted, turning back to the house.

"You are just jealous you don't have a cute demon to carry around like me!" I laughed as I headed back inside. "Misty! Let's go! We have some training to do!" I shouted, and Lyra stirred in my arms.

I lifted her up closer to my face and then peppered her body with kisses. Lyra's eyes snapped open as she began to squirm and giggle in my arms as I attacked her.

After I stopped, she tried to go back to sleep, but I had to get going. "Time to wake up, my little princess! I have to go train, but I promise that when I come back I will make you something that you and your kids can enjoy, okay?"

One red eye opened, and she grinned at me before launching up to wrap her arms around my neck and kiss me. Our lips locked for a moment before she pulled back, still smiling. "I'll be waiting for you, Leon."

With Lyra securely in my arms, I walked back into the dining room to find Misty already standing, ready to go. The tension from earlier seemed to have lifted a bit, and she looked determined.

"Let's get going," she said, and I nodded. As we made our way towards the door, Mary called out to us.

"Leon, be careful out there. And Misty, try not to get yourself tied to any more trees," Mary said with a smirk.

Misty blushed but nodded. "Don't worry, I've learned my lesson," she replied.

As we stepped outside, the crisp morning air greeted us. The floating island stretched out in front of us, with its vibrant landscapes and magical creatures roaming about. I looked down at Misty, and she met my gaze with a mix of determination and curiosity.

"Today's training is going to be intense, Misty. I hope you're ready," I said, and she grinned.

"Bring it on, Leon."
