Rise of the Zerg in the World of Gods

Chapter 64: Not a Single Worthy Opponent

The first wave of attacks began swiftly and ended even faster. Many in the surrounding Divine Realms didn't know what had happened, either unaware or unable to check before it was all over.

The Divine Realms didn't leave many resources behind, as Xu Luo's main goal was annihilation. In the end, he only collected some land to increase his area.

Other gains included some gene templates or remnant units and creatures.

The Kobolds left behind by Moji were the most numerous.

Mainly because the opponent had developed for many years and had a large population, so when fleeing, they left these behind.

Xu Luo, of course, didn't hesitate to claim this large gift.

This attack had also cost him significantly. Of the 500,000 Earth Dragon Zerg, only about 300,000 remained, many of them severely injured with lost limbs.

However, this wasn't a problem. With some rest and the Zerg's self-healing ability, they would recover quickly.

Having completed the first phase of his objectives, Xu Luo didn't rest. He expanded his Divine Realm area and continued to use breeding cards to increase the Zerg numbers, then directly evolved them into combat units using faith power.

This was actually the most terrifying aspect of the Zerg.

Other creatures had a growth period.

Whether goblins, humans, gnomes, or elves, they all grew and became stronger gradually after birth. Although this process was faster in Divine Realms, not taking many years - otherwise, waiting for elves to reach adulthood at hundreds of years old would be impractical.

Even so, it was impossible to use breeding cards to increase newborns and have them ready for battle immediately.

Only a few beings like dragons had some combat ability right from birth.

But the Zerg, as long as there were eggs and sufficient evolution points and faith power, could directly evolve into needed units very quickly, only requiring an evolution period.

This was exactly what Xu Luo was doing now.

Initially, he thought 500,000 Zerg would be enough, but after invading eleven targets, the losses of Earth Dragon Zerg exceeded his expectations.

Mainly because Moji's strength was formidable, causing him to lose many more.

In this situation, to continue invading another seventeen targets, if he encountered more formidable opponents, this number wouldn't be enough. So he had to increase the Zerg numbers.

Fortunately, he had anticipated this possibility from the start - encountering tough opponents causing massive losses - so he had prepared many breeding cards in advance, which now came in handy.

At this time, some Divine Realm masters at a distance from him were offline, while others who sensed the anomaly directly activated their Divine Realm's outer defenses.

Xu Luo had the Zerg rest, sending the injured back to the hive, while waiting for other Earth Dragon Zerg to complete their evolution.

This wasn't like a typical game where evolution could be completed with a single click.

Evolution was a process that required time.

It was fortunate that they could evolve directly into Mountain Shaker Zerg and Burrowing Zerg, and then combine them. Otherwise, evolving step by step would have been much more costly.

After thorough preparation, Xu Luo launched another attack.

This time, he increased the Zerg numbers to over 700,000. Although there were more targets, their strength had increased significantly.

Simultaneously invading seventeen targets was an extraordinarily large-scale operation. Among them, there might be veteran Demi-Gods like Moji who had developed for many years, but Xu Luo also had support-type enhancement cards, which he simply hadn't needed to use before.

For those without outer defenses, he entered forcefully. For those with defenses, he just used a barrier-breaking card to breach them and enter all the same.

The Divine Realms were invaded, and the opponents reacted quickly. However, no matter how fast, there was always a delay if they weren't initially in their Divine Realms. Moreover, with the tenfold time difference between Divine Realms and reality, by the time the Divine Realm masters entered, considerable time had already passed inside.

After engaging these seventeen targets, Xu Luo breathed a sigh of relief. Although there were no weak opponents, there were no particularly formidable ones either.

Over 40,000 Earth Dragon Zerg for each was more than enough.

He also used various enhancement items to boost the Earth Dragon Zerg's strength, so they advanced unstoppably, almost invincible.

The opponents all had some Silver-tier units, but not many. More importantly, the Earth Dragon Zerg were Silver Tier 9 elite units, standing at the pinnacle of this stage.

In novice Divine Realms, few possessed Gold-tier units, so Xu Luo was essentially bullying them now.

Earth Dragon Zerg might not defeat equal Silver Tier 9 elites, but weren't they overwhelming against those inferior to them?

With seventeen Gods invaded, plus the previous eleven, as these alien races communicated with each other, alien races in a wider range soon became vigilant.

Some in contact with the local alien races were preparing to send troops to assist.

So many invasions in such a short time - it looked like a group operation. Could a hunting team have appeared?

They couldn't be blamed for being cautious; the reputation of hunting teams was formidable, having destroyed countless Divine Realms.

Being able to annihilate so many Divine Realms in such a short time certainly looked like the work of a hunting team.

Once a hunting team appeared, they naturally aimed for big targets, and this small number wouldn't satisfy their appetite.

Some Divine Realm masters even began to form alliances, uniting with others to prepare joint forces to assist these invaded Divine Realms and help repel the invaders.

This wasn't out of humanitarianism or kindness, but because after these were destroyed, it would be their turn. For their own safety, it was best to repel enemies outside their borders, using others' Divine Realms as battlefields to eliminate the invaders.

Fighting on home ground, whether victorious or defeated, was never worthwhile.

Not to mention, fighting at home meant damage to one's own Divine Realm, which was already a significant loss. If it were destroyed, the cost would be even greater.

While they were coordinating and planning everything, Xu Luo had already achieved some results, with some weaker Divine Realms destroyed by him.

After successful invasions, these Zerg would be reassigned to other Divine Realms to continue fighting, aiming to end the battle in the shortest time possible.

Seventeen targets seemed like a lot, but once the actual fighting began, Xu Luo suddenly felt like there wasn't a single worthy opponent.

In comparison, Moji from earlier was considered quite formidable.

If not for the Earth Dragon Zerg from other Divine Realms being transferred over later, the first batch sent wouldn't have been able to defeat him.
