NOVEL SIMPLE Chapter 3: Come As You Are 4
The carriage remained silent for a while.
I wish I didn't have to go through this.
I'm not sure if I would do anything different if I kept living my previous life, if I would've changed, or just accept my stagnant life.
This feeling of inadequacy is painful. It's incredible how strong they are.
I remember in the beginning of my training with Vyra, how effortless she made everything look.
"Mister Kael, is there something in your mind?" Miria asked me as she put her right hand on my leg.
"Yes. There is." I raise my head looking to Miria and the to the other two girls that seemed surprised by my change of attitude.
"Since I'm entirely hopeless. I'd like to go back to our previous deal. I whore myself for whatever demon you want me to, and you provide me with an income."
"I said that you had a choice in relation to that. I just require you to stay with me. But if you so choose to make money, I will allow you to do so." She seems a bit more reserved with her words. But it's to think this is of good faith, and I wonder why does she need me that much?
"Oh yeah, another thing. Vyra, Elin. Please. Train me. I beg you."
The two girls looked back at him with different expression, while Vyra looked a bit uninterested, Elin asked putting her index finger on her chin.
"And what does your begging has to offer?"
"I still don't know. What I can offer, it is still strange to say this, but you can do whatever you want with me as long as you don't harm me."
Vyra jumped with excitement, leaning her body towards mine, as she was on the other side of the carriage.
"I like the idea, I will teach everything I know! I knew you would take a wise choice. You won't regret it!"
"I'm not interested." Elin instantly cut off Vyra looking away from me.
I didn't expect that, at the beginning I thought she was the most interested.
"Why? I thought you-"
"I'm not interested in a prostitute." That's an answer I didn't expect, but while looking at her, I noticed something strange... she was shaking. Wait, is she blushing?
"Elin, always missing out on the best parts of life for petty reasons." Vyra, probably had no feelings, she was just a horny demon. But if Elin has feelings for me, it would explain why she's ignoring me for the past day.
"Fair, if that's what you want, then I will abstain myself from doing that. Is there anything else?" I must gain enough power by any means, I can try to find another way to make money long term. For now, Miria is still paying all my bills, so at least that I won't have to worry.
"Awww~ You're so sweet, now our insecure elf can feel better
about herself, because you won't be fucking girls around like a little rabbit, what a wonderful man." Vyra in the other hand, still insufferable. It doesn't make me happy that I will become her toy.
"Well, I'm glad you finally made your mind about something, but you really found yourself in a thought situation. Those two might be a bit too much to handle, are you sure about it?" A bit too much to handle, wasn't I going to prostitute myself to strangers, how much intense these two can be?
"Don't worry about it, as long as they don't hurt me, I'm fine doing whatever they want."
"Very well then." Miria snapped her fingers and I could sense a warm feeling around my crouch, it's definitely the mark. "Now that the deal is made, things can tone down a bit more."
"There's only one problem. The right of interaction between slaves are shared."
"Huh, so everyone has to follow the same rules?" I asked without much worry, since it sounded like a normal rule to be imposed on us.
"Yes, but that same rule will also apply for any upcoming members that I acquire in the future." I completely forgot about that. This might be a problem in the future, I just have to get strong enough, before there are too many women in the party.
"Well, but that's not a big problem. On your own words, it takes a long time for your skill to work."
"Not necessarily. You took more than a year, but the only time this happened was with you. Both Elin and Vyra were just a few months from one to another. If we follow the same pace as before, I might be able to summon another person in the next month already."
That's great. As long as they are not as strong as Vyra and Elin, I should be okay. The probability of her getting another man might be lower since both Elin and Vyra seem to be native to this world already, and the only outliers being me and Miria herself.
"Now that things got a little better, we could stop for a bit and stretch our legs. This is also an opportunity for you to train Kael." Miria said to me as the carriage stopped on her command.
Finally, after my previous battle I really need some practice, specially since I couldn't even properly attack my enemy. With Vyra to tutor me things should get easier...
The ladies had gone out first, and then I went right after. Getting out of that carriage after so much time spending thinking on what I was going to do with this life was truly refreshing.
The trees, the forest, the grass under my feet, nothing felt truly distinct from the other places I've been, quite the opposite. This place is the one had reassembled a forest you would see on Earth. I've taken a glance at Miria and noticed her closed eyes as she lays her back against a large tree, the noises of the birds felt relaxing.
Vyra, had her eyes wandering around the forest searching for something, and Elin was nowhere to be seen, that is to be expected of her. She's more on the quiet side.
"This forest looks much different from the other ones. Heck, every time we go further, everything seems to look different." I asked looking for Vyra since she was a bit closer to me.
"I'm glad you are paying attention. Well. That happens because the Forest change its shape based on the MANA surrounding it. Different type of Manas will completely transform its surrounding."
"This place also seems more peaceful than the others, too." So this place might be...
"Of course it does, because while the others were altered by MANA, this place it's still intact of its influence." Vyra looked back at me, replying with a smirk. "Isn't it Miria."
"You are right."
"And why did we come here to Koro Angari, I thought we were heading to the Capital."
What are they talking about? So what route are we taking?! Is she...
"Because I want to avoid places with MANA now." She said with the most Stoic expression someone could ever make.
I approached her, still confused and asking. "Why does it matter?"
"Since our last encounter with that Slime that turned into a humanoid form, I don't want to take risks going through the fastest path. Someone like her in her true form might take all of us out."
That makes sense. I haven't thought about it, I don't know how many people are aware of my existence, but considering the amount of men in the planet. I'm an obvious prey for people that are that strong.
"Are they really going for me because I'm..."
"No, I don't think it's because you were a man. If that Slime identified your power during your little interaction, and already understood it better than us, she's going to immediately go out of her way to hunt you down."
"It's a bit weird being that important." I said while stretching myself.
"Miria, you should never have told him about the dynamics here, because of you we all have to do some extra convincing, he's ego is through the roof." Vyra said, glancing at me. I don't even think she's wrong, if I wasn't aware of how this world worked anything that Vyra or Elin did I'd be willing to do anything for them.
"So, mister, are you ready?" The witch appeared at my side after I had looked at away for just one second, it was frightening how fast any of those three were.
"Yes, of course. Hopefully you will do a better job at teaching this time." I tell her with a smile as she gets a bit closer and whispering.
"Just remember to keep this confidence when it's your time to make favors to me. It is a shame if you just folded." And with that she began walking towards a path where the trees were scattered.
"I'm not going away until I surpass you."
