Chapter 77: My first date with Barghest~.♥

Barghest and I were browsing a few diners when our little bonding time was interrupted by the entire class suddenly screaming like a bunch of lunatics.

Grunting in annoyance, I looked up and immediately smiled as I said, “Well. Looks like it’s time. The corruption is starting to erupt and change everyone. Excellent!”

Raising an eyebrow, Barghest asked, “That is why they are screaming?”

Nodding my head I answered, “Indeed it is. Watch, they’re all changing!”

Much to my surprise, several students simply exploded into a fine bloody mist at the start. Raising an eyebrow at that outcome, I then turned my attention to the teacher and student fucking at the front of the class. She started to rapidly grow in height and de-aged. Soon the middle-aged woman was replaced by a genuine succubus, much to my surprise. Tall, wings, red skin, horns, a tail, curves for days, the whole deal. And the student she was fucking turned the male version, an incubus. I even noticed their souls had gained demonic taint and were rapidly evolving into actual demons as well.

As I looked around the class, I noticed a distinct theme appearing. A lot of them were turning into monster girls/boys. While a few stayed human, they seemed to go nuts and ran out of the room while radiating a tiny bit of bloodlust.

I was not the only one to see the pattern as Barghest asked, “Why are so many of them turning into half monsters of sorts? Look, five of them even melded together and made a hydra-like thing!”

I hummed in thought for a few seconds before giving my theory, “I think the corruption is changing them into what they WANT to become. Like, a literal manifestation of their dark desires. Or something.” I closed my eyes and spread my senses to the rest of the school for a few moments before continuing, “That seems to be the case. A great deal of the student body is morphing into monsters, while the odd few are just going berserk and murdering.”

While still spreading my senses I added, “And it looks like my little summoner is having the time of her life with her new girlfriend~. They are just going nuts and killing everyone that is attacking them. Shirou Emiya is with the two, but unlike the two girls doesn’t seem to be having a fun time at all~. Heh.”

Shrugging my shoulders, I sat back down at the PC and said, “Oh well, bored now. Let’s find a place to eat. …Maybe on the other end of the city or world so my little experiment doesn’t bother us.”

Barghest also just shrugged her shoulders and joined me as we went back to looking for a place to eat.

A few minutes later we found a place that seemed to be just what we wanted on the other end of the city. Overly fancy, and clearly for the “high elite” of the city. The site even informed its visitors that they only take reservations and walk-ins are not allowed. Not like I gave a shit what mortals say I can and can not do though~.

Standing up I looked over at Barghest and asked, “Before we go, do you want to keep your current clothes, or shall I conjure a dress for you?”

Tilting her head in thought for a moment she then answered, “I want to see what kind of dress you’ll give me.”

Focusing on her, I raised my hand and traced a new dress for her. I also made sure to supply it with extra mana to make sure it would not vanish for a few days.

She looked down at herself, before doing a little twirl and then smiling at me with the force of the blinding sun. Shoving my head back into her treasure trove, she said, “I love it, dear. It is simple, but matches me very well! Thank you!”

With a muffled voice, I answered, “Glad you like it, My Barghest~. Now, let’s be off and enjoy our date properly!”

Without extracting myself from the valley of the gods, I raised my hand and snapped my fingers, followed by a second one that teleported us. Less than a blink later, we found ourselves standing outside of the restaurant we selected. With herculean effort and a bit of sadness, I pulled away from Barghest. I shuffled myself to her left and interlinked our arms as I said, “You make that dress look pretty. I wonder how it'll look on my floor though...”

With a tint of pink on her cheeks she thanked me as we made our way up to the door past the long line of people. As we neared the door, one of the bouncers sighed and nudged the doorman to get his attention on us. He frowned when looking at us, and generally seemed rather exasperated.
As we neared he gave us a rather forced-looking fake smile and said, “Ladies. No one may skip the line. Please-”

Not wanting to bother, I just said, “Imperio.”

Immediately both of the men's eyes gained a glassy look and gave us a “genuine” smile. The door greeter gave us a deep bow and said, “Ah, my mistake, My Lady. Please, follow me.”

Ignoring the hushed whispers of the line behind us, we followed the controlled gentleman into the establishment. Barghest and I both looked around gently at all the fancy-looking paintings and pottery that were on display, as well as other general decor. With an internal snicker, I thought, ‘I give this place a gaudy out of five for its style. It’s fancy, but it’s just tackless and pointless. The food better be better than the garbage I see around me, or we’ll have issues…’

I let out a small sigh and instead leaned against Barghest to try and calm down my disappointment. Which worked almost immediately!

The man stopped at a computer for a few moments and edited the entry for one of the V.I.P. rooms to our names. I smirked at the thought of some posh assholes raising a storm because of this. He was quickly done and then started to lead us deeper into the building. It took us several minutes, passing through several dining areas before we passed a large door that had two large bodyguards. The two nodded gently towards the man and then us but otherwise stayed still and silent.

A few more minutes later, he eventually showed us into a room. I was honestly expecting a booth of sorts, but this was a full-on room. It had everything! A large rectangular table to fit at least ten people, couches, a large TV, and what I suspected to be a door to a bathroom near the middle of the room. This was soon proven true as the man quickly explained what was all in the room, and how we could order our food. He gave us a deep bow and then excused himself, closing the door as he left.

I quickly joined Barghest at the large table, taking a seat right next to her. She smiled at me and asked, “What kind of mind control spell was that? I’ve never seen such mage craft before.”

With a sly smirk, I said, “More magic that is foreign to this world~. Now, how about we order?”

Nodding her head, she reached for one of the large menus that rested before her and started to look over everything. It took us a few minutes to decide what we wanted, with her going with a large double serving of Kobe beef while I went for a quadruple serving. We also ended up getting two bottles of Veuve Clicquot, which the website had recommended as a “romantic” selection for champagne. I have honestly not had either before, so I was a little bit excited to try it all. Naturally, we also ordered a slew of random sides and beginners, pretty much the entire menu for them honestly.

After ordering everything with the golden, literally…, phone on the table I turned to Barghest with a wicked smile and asked, “While we wait…”

As I wiggled my eyebrows up and down a few times, she got the hint easily as she quickly closed the distance between us and crashed our lips together. We had a mighty battle of the tongues while our hands left nearly nothing untouched in their searches. We completely lost track of time as we indulged ourselves with each other when a knock on the door broke us out of our heated trance.

I chuckled lightly at the deep growl Barghest let out at the interruption. Booping her on the nose I whispered, “Now now, My Love. We can get our food and then continue while we eat~.”

My face broke into a large smug smirk as she almost literally whined when I pulled away and stood up. I walked over to the door and opened it to let the staff in with all their trays and trolley with our ordered food on it. I found it weird that they didn’t start with all the actual “starters” first, but honestly, I was so wound up from Barghest that I didn’t care. The staff, much to our delight, were veterans of their work as they were in and out in what felt like seconds.

I looked over everything we had ordered and then almost barked a laugh at Barghest as she was drooling a tad at the smell of everything. And I couldn’t blame her, as the smell alone was extraordinary. Returning to my seat beside her, I picked up my fork, stabbed one of her steak strips and said, “Ahhh.” as I moved it to her mouth.

The smile was just as beautiful as the slight pink blush before she accepted my offer. Her moan as she ate the meat was something else, causing me to smirk slightly as I asked, “That good, love?”

Without answering, she simply took her fork and returned the favour. I chomped down on the offered meat and I immediately understood why she moaned in delight. This steak was easily the best thing I have eaten that was cooked by a mortal! It naturally didn’t take very long before we devolved into a sappy time as we enjoyed each other's presence.

After some time, we were finally done with the food and decided to finally try out the fancy champagne. As I was pouring her glass Barghest said, “That food has been some of the best I’ve ever had. Or maybe it was because it was something new and different than what I normally would eat?”

She took her glass while thanking me. As I started to fill my glass I said, “Maybe. I do agree though that it was some of the best food I have ever had created by mortal hands.”

After I was done serving myself the drink, I raised my glass to Barghest and said, “To blossoming eternal love!”

With a bright smile, she clinked her glass against mine and said, “To blossoming eternal love!”

Moments after we started to take a sip, my instincts and danger sense flared. Dropping my glass I blurred in movement, destroying my seat as I put myself behind Barghest and caught the offending object. In my clasped hand was an arrow that was glowing a brilliant gold. My anger flared along with my instincts as I summoned my sword and started to destroy hundreds of arrows that were making Swiss Cheese out of the wall.

Barghest was already in her armour and wielding her sword when I felt another nudge from my senses. Blurring once again I swung my sword horizontally at Barghest’s side. A loud clang echoed out as my sword met a pair of black scalpels, along with a childish grunt as the servant was sent flying from my strike and crashed through the wall on the other side of the table.

I went back to immediately battering away the ranged onslaught, not missing a beat from the annoyance. The servant responsible for the onslaught soon stopped, as it was clear they were not achieving anything but wasting their time.

I was absolutely, completely, and totally livid. These fucks had ruined my first date with my Barghest! With a feral scream, I simply... let go. My aura erupted out of me, and my bloodlust crashed against reality as it was let free. The walls started to melt from my murderous aura, and the air was dyed a deep blood red. I violently activated a Mana Burst, causing the entire building to explode outwards from us.

With my power completely released, as much as it was able to with the restrictions I had on me, I screamed, “WHO DARES?!”

My clothes and hair were softly flowing as if there was a bit of a breeze, while phantom blood was dripping off my freshly summoned armour and sword. The whole time, I had unconsciously made sure my love was completely unharmed from my outburst, but I wouldn’t clue into that until later.

I stood there in the ruins of the restaurant, a ball of nothing but contempt, hatred, and rage for the sudden interruption. My ire zeroed in on movement a few metres away from us as the rubble of the building was being pushed aside.

A hearty laugh echoed out as a man in golden armour pushed away the rubble, stood up and dusted himself off. He looked at me with a smug grin and said, “Truly, you are the only one who is worthy of being by my side and taking your rightful mantle as my wife.”

I ignored the other servants who were freeing themselves of the rubble as I was laser-focused on one of my most hated people in existence. With a snarl, I said, “Gilgamesh.”

His smile widened before he frowned and said, “Sadly, you have been summoned as such a… lesser shell of yourself. This version of you is as much of a mongrel as the bitch next-”

He only had time to widen his eyes as I instantly appeared before him, and crushed his face with my fist, sending him crashing to the ground like a human-shaped meteorite.

My bloodlust grew and started to warp the environment around me as I said, “You will keep her off your lips, dog. I will enjoy crushing the lot of you for ruining our date. The bards will sing songs about your pain until this planet is nothing but dust and forgotten.”

Glaring down at the man as he pulled himself free from the rubble once again, his face visibly healing from my punch, I seethed, “Alaya itself is going to weep at the epistemicide I will commit this day. Nothing of you will remain when I am finished with you, Gilgamesh.”
