The Resident Evil System in the Multiverse

“System you said something about possible side effects” 

“Great now about that one billion dollars” a small black credit card appeared in my hand. ‘I was wondering how I would get a billion dollars’ 

“Looks like I’m going house hunting” ‘now where should my super shady evil lab be’ I thought as I started to limp walk towards the nearest clothes shop. ‘Gotham is a definite no, I don’t fancy having the capped crusader power bombing through my window, I don’t fancy Japan because of that muscle bound moron in skin tight spandex’ I entered the nearest clothe shop and approached the counter. “Where is your kids section please” the cashier didn’t bother to look up from her phone.

“It’s the last shelf on your right” I limped off. ‘How do you not notice a four foot one inch person with a fucking tail stinger thing that’s taller then himself’. A few of the shoppers started at me ‘seriously in a world were you have people in spandex flying through the air your weirded out by a kid with a tail’ I quickly picked out a few clothes and limped back to the counter. The lady at the counter still didn’t look up from her phone as she scanned the items. “That’s twenty six dollars and nineteen cents”.

I swiped the black credit card and inputted the pin thankfully it didn’t matter what pin I put in. “Can I use your changing rooms please?”

“Knock yourself out” I limped towards the nearest changing boot and slipped out of my oversized clothes and shoes. I had chosen a white teeshirt and black pants along with some black trainers. I had to cut a hole in my new underwear and pants to fit my new tail through. ‘Next item on the agenda getting my new glasses there should be a glasses shop around here somewhere’ I started to limp onwards. 

I had searched for a full three hours but to no avail ‘why do no glasses shop sell the required prescription I need’

“Yes please”

A small pair of glasses appeared on my face.

“That is good now then let’s get my evil secret lab” I still had my phone thankfully. “Lets see warehouses warehouses warehouses Ah” ‘This one looks good’ I started to read the description ‘It’s a small warehouse in Manhattan great road connections, It’s near a hospital and two restaurants and it only costs three hundred thousand dollars’. I rang the number on the website “Hello I would like to inquire about property 3789B” the woman on the phone sounded delighted. “You can meet me at the property now okay, I’ll be there in thirty minutes thanks.” 

I looked at the warehouse curiously it wasn’t much to look at. Just then I saw a woman approach she was fairly tall with long blonde hair and brown eyes. “Have I been punked again”. 

“Hello” I waved at the woman “I’m the one who asked about the warehouse” the woman looked at me strangely.

“I’ve definitely been punked by a kid no less” I started to become mad.

“I’ll have you know I’m an adult you know It’s just that my power makes me look like this, but if you don’t want me to buy it I understand” I could see the woman bite her lip.

“Fine I’ll trust you but if this is a hoax I’ll have you arrested” as she said this she opened the warehouse. Inside was a wide array of science equipment and machinery, along with a lot of blood stains. The woman did a nervous laugh. “The previous owners of this fine property had ah” she paused as she tried to think of something to say. 

“They had strange hobbies” I butted in she nodded slightly. “And the blood stains” I gestured towards the dried up patches of blood that littered the floor, walls, and ceiling. 

“Would you believe me if I said a man dressed as a bat broke in?” she laughed nervously again.

“Yes I would” she sighed a little bit when I said this.

“Now the equipment does come included with the building, so what do you think Mr?”

“Valentine, Luke Valentine” ‘God damn I sounded badass saying that’. “Yes I will buy the property” the women's face lit up.

“The price is negotiable but we can’t expect less than two hundred and fifty thousand dollars”

I started to laugh and the woman did a little nervous laugh “how about three million dollars” the woman seemed flabbergasted by my remark. 

“Why would you pay that you still have to remove the stuff” I simply shook my small head sending my long white hair into a tangled mess.

“You’ve done me a favour now I don’t need to buy and wait for this equipment to come”.

“Okay then lets go to my office and finalise the paperwork” I simply nodded.

The moon had risen before I returned to the warehouse. “Well isn’t this place convenient hu system”

‘Is the system trying to distract me or something’ just then an enormous stack of paper and books appeared in front of me. ‘These are the research notes then’ I started to look through them most were about failed attempts but some were more promising.

“System does the game Resident Evil exist in this world”

“Good this is good then I will name my company the Umbrella Corporation” ‘why isn’t the system saying the mission is done’

“You are a bastard you know that system”

I did a small laugh it was correct.
